Most friendly hostel I have ever been to! The food is great and healthy and the staff are the nicest and most helpful people would will ever meet! Make sure you stay for the live music nights, you will not be dissapointed! Although every night might not be a party, most are, and it is a great place to meet...

What makes the "Casa de la Iguana" experience amazing is the staff who are incredibly warm, sincere and caring. Chris Rae, the owner, is the highlight - great conversationalist with a big heart who will entertain you to an intellectual conversation and occasionally award you a coffee or breakfast "on the house" if you contribute to the vibe (or if...

Go where the poor people are! Stayed here for one night during Holy Week as everywhere in Livingston was booked. Was almost regretting the "party hostel" atmosphere as I'd had a rough travel day, but Chris, Dewi (sp.?), Dani (sp.?) were all totally awesome & made my stay unforgettable! All the staff were great, I just don't remember all of...

I stayed in Casa de la Iguana for two nights and had a great time! Chris, the owner, and his staff really make you feel welcome and there is a really relaxed vibe. When I asked Chris for info on hiking in the area he took me on a really nice hike through the jungle, past a Garifuna temple and...

The place looks pretty cool upon first arrival. The people are nice and welcoming. However after our first night, we had to leave. The lady explained to us that we are in a jungle and you must remove every last piece of food in your pack- down to the last peanut. Our dorm mates did not listen, and our room...

We only stayed one night. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The dorms were comfortable. I don't know if there's loud music every night but we were kept awake by just a small group of people playing loud music until 3 am. I don't know what the neighbours must think. It's an ideal place if you want to have...

Thanks so much for your review. I am really sorry about the noise. We do have a reputation for fun and frivolity that is justified, but the reality is that the majority of our guests are not crazy party people and we do have policies for turning down the noise late at night so that everyone can get a decent...

Casa De la Iguana has an awesome staff who really try to make you feel welcome. The prices are in line with most hostel prices in the area. 10 US for a dorm room. The venue is nice and the little bar on site is very fun. Goo international challenges and if you like to party you wont be alone...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa de la Iguana is a fabulously famous party hostel for fun and friendly happy travellers. It is set in a jungle garden with awesome wooden cabins and dormitories all unique and worth the extra Q for a good nights sleep. We may not be the cheapest in Livingston but we pride ourselves on having handmade lockers in each dorm, comfortable beds, spacious private rooms, superb wifi for Skyping and calls home, great social staff and fantastic fun most evenings, especially when a lively Happy Hour involved. There is fantastic free wifi. the best in Livingston actually, as well as an international book exchange. We also arrange tours to Belize, La Ceiba, Siete Altares, Playa Blanca and Rio Dulce and recently added, our own very exciting Tiger Cave trip and Fishing (eat what you catch). Spanish Lessons available too. We have a great reputation for our parties but it happens when we have a great bunch of people too! Come see us soon, meet other like-minded free spirits. ... more   less
