Utz jay is a comfortable hotel with unique rooms that will make you feel like in a Gutemaly-Swedish cabin. The garden is the best thing about the hotel- gorgeous and spacious. In addition, every room has it's own little porch to sit in. The only con I have is that they charge for breakfast, use age if the phone, and...

This place is great. Cable TV in the huge rooms (we had a “superior room” with a private balcony). Screens in the windows, huge shower, helpful staff, floor fan in the room, delicious breakfast in the on-grounds restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were super clean. One block off the main street in Pana. If you are looking for hotels,...

Each time I am in Pana, I always stay here. I love the garden and the different rooms and casitas. Its spa and jacuzzi are relaxing. Marie Lissette, the owner, is very nice and helpful. She helped us book a boat ride around the lake. The big dogs are very friendly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The continental...

The hotel is a peaceful refuge from the bustle of Panajachel. We enjoyed having morning coffee in the garden. The restaurant serves a nice breakfast. The rooms were clean and attractive. The owner and all the staff were very helpful, answering questions about the town, where to eat, how to take a launch across the lake, etc. And the price...

I've been to Pana several times and have never been as pleased as I was at the Utz Jay. This hotel and the San Bartolome in Xela were our favorites during our trip. The location is great -- about 2 blocks from the lake and 1/2 block from the main street on a peaceful side street. The three rooms our...

I spent a few days in Pana with no particular plan in mind. Luckily, I had made a reservation at Utz Jay, and was pleased to while away the time sitting on the balcony overlooking a well-tended tropical garden and wandering around town. The location of this hotel is perfect: half a block from the action on Santander and only...

The personnel is extremely nice and helpful, always with a smile. The breakfast was delicious and abundant. I really enjoyed the sauna with herbal tea and everything, so relaxing! The location couldn't be better, only a couple of blocks from the beautiful Lake Atitlan. To get the best pictures go early in the morning (6 or 7 am). Over all...

So we'd booked to stay in April 2014 for one night, and turned up very late, around 9pm only to find that they'd not got our reservation it hadn't been moved from one booking sheet to the new booking system. So after a lot of faff, the reception lady confirmed it was their fault and offered us to find us...

This was a wonderful place to stay during our trip to Panajachel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Also, very good English spoken. Great location within walking distance to town. Great breakfast served every morning, too. Comfortable beds and hot showers. ENJOY!

This was a lovely place to stay. Good breakfast with some choices on the menu. It was clean, hot water in the shower. Modern sink. Comfortable beds and pillows. Lovely garden. Away from the noise of the town. When we had to cancel a later stay, we weren't penalized. We would go back again.
