The large classic room decorated with a Mayan touch. was a little bare bones by North American standards. There was no fridge, microwave, coffee pot or even a telephone. TV reception was crappy. There were minimal bathroom amenities. They do offer Wi fi. The lights were too dim to read by. Having said that, this place is on the shore...

We have just spent 3 nights at Hotel Atitlan. The situation is marvellous and the views and gardens are wonderful. The rooms aren't bad but need some improvement, the beds are not particularly comfortable and the pillows are awful. It is fairly quiet. The showers must have been installed years ago. They kindly moved us when we discovered the shower...

We arrived from the hustle and bustle of Antigua to a very relaxing stay at Hotel Atitlan. The view from the Hotel and particularly the hot tub outside does not get any better at all! We were on our honeymoon so decided to splash out on this hotel and it was definitely worth it. The aviary and the gardens are...

We were greatly pleased, and slightly surprised, by how wonderful our highly active trip to Guatemala was: Antigua, the Tikal area, and Lake Atitlan were all fantastic. But when we return, we will probably head straight for the Hotel Atitlan and do nothing but stare at the lake and volcanos from the beautiful gardens and chow down on simple stuff...

Situated directly on Lake Atitlan near Panajachel, the hotel has an old-world feel, inside and out, but with modern amenities. With a near perfect climate, the placement of the hotel on the lake and the volcanos as its backdrop, just it can't be beat. Firstly, the grounds are stunning. They are well maintained and pristine. The interior of the hotel...

A faded hotel, which was clean and presentable but DARK, Spanish heavy dark wood furniture in the common areas and as it is really the only decent hotel in the area caters to tour groups. Lunch outside was fine, menu ok especially for children but dining in the evening was less than satisfactory. Forced to eat inside because it was...

The hotel staff couldn't be nicer. Location, extremely nice right on the lake with its beautiful garden. The food was not so good, they don't know how to serve a good French toast and the ommellets weren't great . The bedroom door was letting the cold wind come into the room from the hallway, very cold. The bathroom need some...

I stayed at this hotel as part of the Caravan Tour. When you drive in the grounds are spectacular. The lobby is filled with Guatemalan pieces that the owner has collected and this lead you to the restaurant and bar area. Tastefully decorated and inviting. From there you can walk to the pool and hot tub area. Inviting lounges and tables...

Best views on the lake but that is about the only thing to recommend this old property. Rooms are "quaint" and comfortable - the bathrooms however are very original 1970's and tired. No light in the shower. Hot water only milding warm. Service and food disappointing - we had to constantly flag down waiters and there were only a few...

Very picturesque location on the shores of Lake Atitlan. A 10-15 minute walk to Pana (some is uphill). Beautiful grounds including a lovely garden with tropical birds, infinity-like hot tub/jacuzzi overlooking lake. Rooms are nicely appointed. Great breakfast buffet and an international menu.
