Beautiful Hotel in a lush garden with parrots and fontaine. Large rooms with a fireplace for cool nights. The whole hotel is decorated with guatemalan antiquities collected by the owner. Delicious breakfast. Just around the corner from the colorful market. Private parking. We love this place!

I didn't stay at the hotel but I must admit that I was envious once I stepped inside the courtyard. The place is beautiful! I assumed that the restaurant would most assuredly be equal. I couldn't have been more wrong. Maybe I caught them on a bad night but the servers didn't seemed prepared to receive guests who "weren't on...

The shuttles to and from other towns drop off and pick up here. Stay for coffee or lunch and the bathroom ticket is included, otherwise 5 quetzales to use the clean bathrooms. Pleasant place with busy and effective staff. It is very busy on market days: Thursday and Sunday

Didn't stay at this hotel, rather one across town but if I had known of this place I would have stayed for its beautiful setting. Only came by this hotel to exchange US dollar bills to quetzales as everyone local told us this was the only place to do so - no banks nearby exchanged anymore.

The hotel looks really old, but isn't. It was designed to look like a Grand old hotel. It is fairly large and can handle large groups, but was nearly empty when we were there. I'm sure it's busy for market days, though. The rooms are spacious, but lack TV's. There is WiFi that works OK near the office area, but...

Entering the hotel one wonders whether it is a botanical garden or aviary or art gallery. It is all three and also a very warm and welcoming hotel. Parrots sit on perched without clipped wings and are brought in at night. The perches are dotted throughout the two courtyards which are ablaze with tropical plants All over are hung antique...

We stayed here as part of a group. It feels like an upscale authentic Guatemalan experience -- not an upscale American experience though -- so 5 stars taking into account expectations. Service was prompt everywhere (a luxury in Latin America). Rooms were clean and comfortable. They change money right at the hotel for a fair rate. Hot water is not...

If you are going to Chichicastenango, its true that its best to go the night before! We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Santo Tomas. There were five us in three rooms. Its true that the rooms could use a little updating (especially the bathrooms and power outlets) and new lighting in the rooms. But this didn't detract from...

This is a lovely old hotel catering for large groups. It’s situated around a courtyard and has lots of atmosphere and lovely big rooms, with nice staff but who seem harassed and over-worked. On the surface all looks fine but in reality the hotel is tired and could do with bit of a facelift – not so much that it...
