Dear Derrick B, Thank you so much for staying with us at the Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast. We are so glad that you enjoyed your romantic getaway in our beautiful home. As you mentioned, we are close to Wolf Creek Plantation Winery that offers free tastings of their delicious wines and slushies. And, we are about a half hour from Five Points Berries Winery featuring quite a variety of blueberry wines ranging from sweet to dry. There are 2 national historic sites within a 15 minute drive and the downtown eateries are just a mile away, perfect distance for a leisurely stroll. We truly appreciate you sharing your experience and hope to see you again, soon. Warmest regards, Kim and Susan Egelseer Owners/Innkeepers

My friends and I made a quick trip to Americus to attend one of Jimmy Carter's Sunday school lessons the following day in nearby Plains. We stayed in the Magnolia Suite upstairs and it was perfect for the three of us, but could have easily accommodated four if need be. The room w

Dear rainonatinroof01, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Americus Garden Inn while in our area to attend Jimmy Carter's Sunday School Class. The Magnolia Suite is our only room with 2 beds, a queen and a full size, and we are so glad that you found the room to be comfortable for your visit. As of lately, Maranatha Baptist Church recommends arriving at the church around 5:30 a.m. to ensure a seat in the sanctuary. President Carter does not teach until 10:00 a.m. Since we serve breakfast between 8 - 9:30 a.m., we know that our guests attending Sunday school will not be able to enjoy our 3-course hot breakfast. So, we provide a to-go breakfast of Greek yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, muffin and fruit, so that you can take it with you and eat when you are ready. We are so glad that you found that to be a satisfying option. We truly appreciate you sharing your experience in our home and look forward to future visits. Warm regards, Kim and Susan Egelseer Owners/Innkeepers

Dear GirlsinHotlanta, Thank you so much for choosing the Americus Garden Inn for your Thanksgiving lodging. What a pleasure it was having you stay with us. The Veranda Suite is a really spacious and comfortable room, especially for those desiring a first floor room with a King bed and large bathroom. With bay windows and access to the wraparound porch, you can really enjoy our beautiful garden from this room. Part of the charm in staying in an historic home is knowing about the people who have lived and died here. We love the opportunity to share the history of the house and the people who have called it "home". Breakfast is an important part of the B&B experience. To us, that means making sure our guests are satisfied. When there are leftover muffins, we want you to be able to enjoy them as a snack for later. We truly appreciate your thoughtful and very kind review. We definitely hope to see you again in the future. Warmest regards, Kim and Susan Egelseer Owners/Innkeepers

Dear Skeleton76, We are so glad that you were finally able to celebrate your anniversary after being impacted by the hurricane. We truly understand how you felt as we were impacted by a tornado in 2007. It was our pleasure creating a quiet, peaceful and romantic environment for you both to simply relax. Hello, can you please tell us if the bedrooms have individual thermostat controls or is there only one control for the house? We find B & Bs without individual controls to be much too cold for us, thus the question. Thanks so much
Hi, Classic_Creation. We can promise you that it will not be too cold, even though we do have central heating and air, There are a couple of rooms that tend to be warmer (Balcony and Magnolia) and a couple that tend to be cooler (Scarlett and Veranda). Please call us and we will help you choose the perfect room for you. Warm regards, Kim and Susan Egelseer Owners/Innkeepers

I have difficulty climbing steps. I can manage a few 4-6. But not 3 flights! Are there rooms with a bathroom in the room on the 1st floor? Planning a spring trip. Thank you.
Hi 123karenf! The Americus Garden Inn has 2 downstairs rooms, both with private iensuite bathroom. The Veranda Suite has a large bathroom with a garden tub/shower combination and the Library Suite has a small bathroom with a walk-in shower (no tub). From the parking area, we do have a ramp that would allow you to access the porch to the main house without climbing any stairs. If you take a look at our website and look at the downstairs rooms, you can see photos of the Veranda and Library rooms. Also, the common areas are located on the first floor, so, you can easily access the dining room and the parlor. Feel free to call us and we would be happy to answer any additional questions and concerns you may have regarding a stay in our home. Warm regards, Kim and Susan Egelseer Owners/Innkeepers
