Clean and modern with a communal kitchen for drinks, fridge, (microwave, no cooker) etc. Free WiFi. Gated garden. Close to town centre, owner and staff friendly and helpful, not expensive. Would definately use again!

I arrived in Punta Gorda on a Sunday afternoon with no idea of where I was going to stay. I found Tate's Guesthouse while walking around and I got a very comfortable room for $75 Belizian which I was happy with. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, there was good wi-fi and A/C (such luxury). The owner...

The owner, William, is exceptionally friendly and will step out of his way to help you out. The rooms are reasonably priced, simple but very clean. There's no breakfast at the guesthouse but a coffee/tea-making station in the common area, a sink, a microwave, a fridge and cups, plates and cutlery at the guests' disposal. Also, there is a convenience...

We didn't enjoy Punta Gorda a great deal but we really enjoyed this place, we felt safe, the old man is a top bloke, very helpful and nice. This place is walking distance to the ferry terminal, the bus stop, the ATM and some nice places to eat. The rooms are pretty big with nice bathrooms, A/C, TV and wifi....

Mr. Tate was really helpful when we ran into some travel issues (lost our rental car keys). He went out of his way to help us by going to the airport to pick up the keys being sent down so that we could go on our scheduled boat charter and not waste the day waiting for a plane. Additionally, the...

Very clean and we'll kept guest house. Owner very friendly and helpful. This is a great place for couples, business travellers or someone single. You can prepare your own quick meal in the kitchen area where there a fridge, microwave and coffee is always available. Wi-Fi was a savior and was always working. I stayed at Tate's Guest House from...

I live in Belize and I want to explain a little something. There are a few "luxury" hotels in this country. The bulk of the hotels that are owned by local people, not hotel chains or foreign investors are what some people call "basic". In traveler's terms "basic" can mean a lot of things from shared bath to thatch roof...

stayed here for 2 nights en route to Livingston. This is the best guest house we found in Belize. It is clean, water is hot, and the owner is a friendly, knowledgable local. There is a clean communal kitchen and the guest house is in a great location. Wifi works well and there's a good sitting area out the front....

Place is clean and owner is caring. Good choice for whom is looking to save some bucks and still have a nice place. Room is small but clean. The a/c is not very strong, but still helps a lot. Hot and cold water working and a communal kitchen. Recommend!

As a repeat guest at Tate's, I am pleased to be here once again. And, once again, it is scrupulously clean, the towels are ample and there have been more improvements to the property. As ever, the hot water comes on quickly (not to be taken for granted in these parts) and there is free wifi and coffee to brew....
