Our stay at the Parrot Nest Lodge in the jungle was the highlight of an already outstanding trip that included the cayes. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't for you. Go here if you're looking for outstanding hospitality and an authentic jungle experience. Theo...More
We stayed at the Parrot Nest for 6 nights recently. We had such a wonderful stay. The property is beautiful, comfortable and safe. We felt comfortable letting our 9 year old daughter run around by herself, finding toads and other creatures. Marcus and Theo are...More
Parrot's nest lodge is a throwback to the time when good hospitality was relational and not transactional. It seems that even the kinds of guests that are drawn to this place are pleasant and interesting company. Total strangers tended to linger at meal times and...More
Third visit to the Parrot Nest and definitely not our last! As expected everything was perfect. Amazing food and first-class service. We loved spending time with the dogs. The free tubing (with the dogs) was a highlight! Highly recommend the Parrot Nest to anyone looking...More

I'm sure they will be welcome, they are very friendly at the Parrot's nest. The crowd at the Parrot's nest changes depending on who is booking. The grounds are clean and the kid would have fun running around, except for the river being right there. Try it for a couple of nights. When experiencing new things, I only book for a couple of nights, then if things don't work out, you are not miserable the whole time. The food is good, they have a washer and I think a dryer and are relatively close to town, but it is too far to walk. They can call you a taxi.

We will be staying at the Lodge in late March, and will be using William's shuttle to get there from the airport. There is a link on the Parrot Nest Lodge website to the shuttle website. Price depends on number of riders, I believe, but for us each way will be just over $150, and is a two-hour trip (each way).
