The pictures don't do it justice. We booked a double room for the 3 of us and it was perfect. The beds were very comfortable, the A/C was ice-cold and the bathroom en suite was cleaner than mine. The common kitchen area was also very clean and had free coffee, water cooler, fridge, and anything else you could need. We...

The Western Guest House is in a perfect location on the "famous" Burns Avenue in San Ignacio. It is about two blocks down from the "action" (restaurants and people) -- close enough to walk over to easily but far enough away from the noise. Just the other direction on Burns at the end of the street is the very nice...

It was a pleasant stay. A grandmotherly lady allowed us to use their fridge. She left us a phone, so we could call her if we need anything. A small balcony with arm chairs are perfect in the evening, when you come back with a couple of beers and enjoy warm weather sipping cold drink. The guesthouse is very close...

My friend and I stayed at the Western Guest House for 3 nights in January. It is a little further down Burns Avenue from most of the main restaurants/tour operators, so a quick 3 or 4 minute walk to go grab dinner or breakfast. The hosts are incredibly nice and happy people. We requested a room in the back with...

Family-run for the last seven years. My taxi driver (from Belize City) didn't know where Burns Avenue was located (it's the main commercial street!), so get clear directions. Host Jovian is very friendly, welcomed me at about 1:00 and gave me my choice of rooms. I chose the one fronting the balcony and street. Very quiet place. TV offered a...

A person in-town told us about this place when our reservations at another place fell through. Looked it up and thought ok, should work for us.We were greeted by a very friendly staff, love smiles on folks'! The room wasn't quite ready but we could leave our luggage. We were informed a neat place to walk to where the two...

We loved this place. Great rooms, lovely place and helpful staff - for only a tiny bit more than you'd pay for a dingy hostel room down the road. We loved getting fruit from the market to put in the smoothie/juicer. Clean, well-stocked kitchen and Yvette very kindly took and dried my clothes without being asked which was a nice...

Centrally located just down the street from "tourist row" on Burns, the strip where most of the tour organizers have their offices and a few restaurant/bars have constant happy hours, Western Guest House couldn't be more conveniently situated but is also just far enough away from all the hubbub that you get a real sense of local neighborhood feel and...

We have stayed at this guesthouse twice now and really recommend it. It is clean, tidy and peaceful as well as being really near the centre of town. There is free coffee and water and use of the kitchen, living room and porch. All in all, very relaxing place.

The staff was super accommodating. They took in a whole lot of us with very little notice because we were fleeing from hurricane Earl. They made sure we were set with water and flash lights. Had emergency prep materials in place. You wouldn't have even known there was a hurricane except the power went out in the whole town in...

“We had a room at the back of the building away from the street. I'm not sure if that was necessary regarding noise as the guesthouse wasn't in a busy part of town. The AC worked well and there was also a free standing fan to circulate the cool air.”
