If you are looking for a luxury resort, look elsewhere. But if you want a family atmosphere with delicious home style cooking, friendly staff and owners, and lots of for nearby tours ($$), this is your place. Think of it more like a very nice camp with nice, clean rooms (some with air conditioning). The food is served at specific...

I have stayed here before and really enjoyed it. Don't expect New York urban refinement. This is Belize. The place is like a sanctuary with horses, a small zoo, a beautiful pool and walks along the river. The rooms are unique and very pivate. I will definitely be coming back here with my wife for the experience, value, hospitality, and...

This was our first trip to Belize so we had no idea what we were booking or where. We wanted to stay a few days inland and the last days on the beach. This was the only place that had availability in our price range and the days we wanted (actually we booked for 2 because that's all we could...

The Banana Bank Lodge was mostly a "last minute" accommodation. Our flight schedule into Belize put us into the country in the evening, and since this was my second trip, but first time driving (heading to Placencia) I thought it might be wise to NOT try yo make the entire trip across the country in the dark. So enter Banana...

Belize was a port stop on our Christmas Cruise. since we've done the cave tubing we decided to Horseback ride instead. AMAZING! I booked this myself since I'm a Travel Agent vs going on a ship excursion.

This was my first trip to Central America and the Banana Bank was the perfect place to take it all in and totally relax. The mountains, the caves, the rainforest, the birds, the horses. It's an amazing place for the lovers of the outdoors. I loved the room, the staff, the guests and the night sky. Mario even took us...

Lovely Overall experience - we were there to Horseback Ride, and were pleasantly surprised by all that we experienced while there. Horses are incomparable - so so well trained so so lovely. Pool was a great way to cool off after Ride. Food was a lovely family-style experience. Coffee is a bit weak and not on early in the mornings...

John Car is a character, he was waiting for my family at his lodge and gave us a personal tour and brief history of how he came to Belize. The damage the recent weather had caused the country did detract from the horse riding however the staff the horses and John compensated for that. My only regret is I didn't...

This is a magnificent spot. Nice place surrounded by the rainforest. We had breakfast in next to the river. Rooms are basics as well as food and drinks. Everything has a kind of private touch. But we liked it that way. Friendly people. The place had seen better times I guess I hope the owner will renew a couple of...

My friend and I were the only two on our horseback ride. We were picked up at the cruise ship terminal by our guide, Cesar, who drove us to Banana Bank Lodge. There, we hiked down an embankment and met up with a guy who pulled us across the river in a sturdy boat, using a rope strung across the...
