Although there are a couple of other rooms near the beach the main accommodation at Huracan is a long-house that was originally built to be a refuge in a Hurricane. It is a very substantial long building with 4 guest rooms (each with a restroom), a kitchen, the dive shop, dining area and an additional room for the owner or...

My wife and I, along with another couple were the only 2 parties staying at the lodging for 5 days. - The power goes off at night, so plan to bring a flashlight. - The place has its own cooking team, it was very well presented and professional. We thought we would get a lot of fresh sea food, so...

At the end of the day, it's all about the people. At Huracan Diving, a small eco-resort located on Long Caye in the Lighthouse Reef Atoll with accommodations for 8, proprietor extraordinaire Christian Duerre has assembled a staff that made the week we just spent with them perfect in every way. My son and I arrived in Belize City on...

As my dad and I start planning our next dive trip, I have been dreaming of Lighthouse Reef...and I realized I hadn't left a review yet! Basically, as far as a dive trip goes, I'm pretty sure you can't get much better than Huracan. Long Caye is a well kept secret--as close as you can get to all the best...

We stayed for a week from 28th December until 4th January. The booking was super simple thanks to Christian who is so reactive! We arrived at the marina and were immediately taken care of by Bernard and his team. We met the other divers and the ride was very cool. And then you literally arrive in paradise. You know that...

Cannot say enough positive things about huracan, the team there and the diving. Diving- simply the best diving I've ever done (and by a stretch). Something incredible on every dive- sharks, rays, turtles and beautiful coral. Accommodation- brilliantly comfortable and the real gem is how close it is to the incredible dive sites. You're 10 minutes from them all as...

We went to Huracan for the diving and we were not disappointed. Diving: The lodge is situated inside the Lighthouse Reef Atoll but is basically the only inhabited land in the region. This means that you have the opportunity to see the best sights without the hinderance of other divers. Even when we went to the Blue Hole, we were...

We arrived at Huracan Diving one week after the August 2016 Category 1 hurricane Earl. We want to report that despite sand on the reefs and some diminished visibility, the reef was in great shape. We had 9 fantastic dives on lighthouse reef – sharks, turtles, rays, grouper, lobster and plenty of reef fish and coral! If you are coming...

What more can you ask for? We went for 2,5 hours by spped boat before we reached Lighthouse Reef where Huracan is situated The diving is superb and all so close that you come back ashore between each dive. The food was excellent. Minor could be a chef anywhere. The presentation and execution of his creations are faultless. We didn't...

The resort was clean and comfortable but the people are what make it great! Friendly staff, great food, unbeatable diving. I will definitely return! My experience was completely positive but be prepared for the mosquitos.

“Don't hesitate to stay at the Itza Lodge if Huracan is full. The rooms are great. It's a 2 minutes walk to Huracan and it's actually closer to the boat. I didn't eat there so I don't know about the food but I don't see how thay could top Dyron's food.”
