Everyone was very nice, Great breakfast , a lot of places to lounge by the water. The AC in the rooms worked perfect. It feels special and exclusive being on the other side of the split with a private beach . its not a long boat ride at all. I would definitely go back. My instagram is @darcelis_
Great and friendly customer service. Wonderful location. Good food, it would be awesome if they can improve the room charge service since we had 2 misunderstandings with it. Eden, the receptionist, always answered all our concerns and even booked us a taxi from the airport to the pier in Belice City back and forth. Highly recommend.
It is a spacious lovely establishment with a nice restaurant and plenty ambiance. Bar , pool and Lots of lounge opportunities and friendly owners. Away from the ra ra hubbub of town It's great to see a Belizean owned place of this caliber.
This place was wonderful!! Jorge at the front desk and the rest of the staff were incredibly accommodating. The ferry was always ready for us making the trip to the Southside a breeze. The location itself is gorgeous, the food was yummy and the rooms comfy and clean. I will definitely be returning.
My husband & I stayed in room 6 (king size bed). Overprice for what they offered. The room is very small. No phone, no TV, no coffee pot, no fridge. the AC unit was pretty decent. Not much to do there at all. More than half the dishes they had on the menu was not available. On check-out we had meal charges that wasn't ours. In my option its best to stay on the South side of Caye Calker and take the both over to the north side if you are curious to see that side, but i'm telling you not much to do. We had a much better time over at the split on the south side. Also the boat that take you over from Weyu to the south side drop you off in the back of no mans land. I would not recommend that place to stay overnight. Also the safe in the room did not work.
My friends & i stayed in 1 of the double deluxe rooms which was surprisingly well priced. The beds were really comfortable & I appreciated the separate bedrooms & bathrooms. Our front balcony had a beautiful seaview to catch a picturesque sunset & our bedrooms had access to a back balcony surrounded by trees. I was a little disappointed that there was no television in the room nor utensils in our kitchenette. The restaurant & bar closed an hour early & all the lights were out by 8:15pm without notification. Though this was during COVID time when a national curfew was in effect for 10pm we were free to move around the property lined with hammocks, day beds & beach chairs. There were few persons staying there at the time so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. We had a fun time by the pool & staff on the island helped us with lighting & a speaker for our music. Food & drinks from the restaurant was great with spacious seating. …
The room we booked smelled strongly of sewage the first night, so we avoided going in the room the entire first day while they worked on things. It was somewhat better the next two nights, and they refunded a small portion of the first night's charge, but it was disgusting having to sleep there the first night, and the bathrooms were very shabby. Also, the bar at the Koko King restaurant, which is the only eatery in the area, was constantly covered in flies -- like hundreds of them. When we were leaving, I asked what time we should check out for our flight from Caye Caulker airstrip. We were told to check-out at 9:30, and that the boat would leave the dock at 9:40, and that the hotel had made arrangements for someone to pick us up by golf cart at the water taxi dock to take us to the airstrip. The boat was late, and there was no one to pick us up when we got to the water taxi. We missed our flight out of Caye Caulker, and had to buy new tickets to get to Belize City for our international flight, which we almost missed due to the later flight out of Caye Caulker. The beach at the hotel is okay, but far less nice, and more crowded than beaches in other parts of Belize. The one plus at WeYu is the very nice pool that is available only to hotel guests. We decided that one trip to Caye Caulker was enough, and one stay at WeYu was too many.…
My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights. We didn’t realise the hotel was situated on the north island until we got there which I thought was going to be a big issue. It actually wasn’t at all. The staff we so accommodating and the 2 min boat ride to the main island was always available. They stop the taxi between the islands at midnight which is fare. They even started early for us on our departure day so that we made our ferry ride to Mexico in time. Excellent staff and security on the island. Breakfast at koko king was good. Had lunch and dinner at koko king a few days too which was nice. The pool is for hotel staff only. The beach chairs are reserved for koko king and you have to pay but it was no trouble. You can just sit on the pool chairs and walk to swim in the ocean if you wish. Overall a great hotel that was not an issue staying on the north island whatsoever. …
Most important thing I wish I’d known booking- YOU CANT WALK TO MAIN ISLAND AREA. Unless you take a boat, your stuck with their area and restaurant which were fine. Also, it becomes a weird ghost town in the rain or after sunset. Otherwise, rooms were lovely, bar and service were great and overall lovely quiet place to stay. Just not the young person lively haven we were expecting it to be but maybe that was due to coming right after the holidays.
NEGATIVES: Our room had not been cleaned evidenced by the hair and dirt in both bathrooms. The air conditioner in the middle bathroom was broken. Light bulbs out in the living room. Sagging door that would not latch to the bedroom. Numerous holes in the walls that needed filling and paint. Loose toilet seat. Broken/Shabby poolside lounge chairs. It took 4.5 hours for housekeeping and maintenance to correct our issues. Loud music from the restaurant was a negative. If this property was properly managed it would be terrific. Not the case today. Front desk said this is under new ownership as of a year ago. They did make an acceptable concession for our trouble. POSITIVES: Friendly staff; prompt reaction to issues; strong security personnel; Clean pool; comfortable bed; good food at restaurant; breakfast was good; removed from the rest of the island via water taxi; good orientation and welcome.…
