This was our first trip to Belize, so we didn’t have a solid idea of how the island was laid out or where the best place to stay was. I got lucky and found X’ Tan Ha through one of my rewards sites. The pics looked great and the rooms were a perfect size. For once the pics didn’t lie, they actually didn’t do the resort justice. It’s amazing! The view is spectacular and the rooms were huge, clean, and great A/C. The entire staff was super nice and attentive, especially the crew working the restaurant/bar on the dock. The food and drinks were great, the bed was comfy, and the two pools were pristine. Things to note before you book. The resort is about a 40min golf cart ride from downtown San Pedro, it’s a bumpy ride, but fun! So if you want nightlife, stay downtown. If you want a tranquil beautiful experience in Belize, stay here. Wait to plan some of your excursions, it’s not highly visible on the resort site, but they do have someone on site to set them up for you. If you’re going to dive I would suggest booking this ahead of time, white sands and Amigos Del Mar are both great dive operators. We loved staying here so much that while waiting to depart we booked our next stay with them in November!…
A stunning resort for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of San Pedro. I can not fault X tan ha. We had a beach view room which was out of this world. Very well equipped and stunning views. The whole place is immaculately kept. The staff work non stop to try and keep the beach clear of the dreaded sargasso weed that plagues all of belizes beaches. The pools are beautiful and perfect for children. Having said that there were no children here during our stay. In fact there were only 6 other guests the whole time we were here so we felt like we had the place to ourselves! The resort is quite far from town and about 40 mins in a golf buggy from secret beach. There isn’t much to do and no where you can really walk to but perfect of you just want to relax. The on-site bar and restaurant offer nice food at a reasonable price.…
The people at this resort are wonderful and very welcoming. They are constantly grooming the gardens and pool keeping everything well cared for and beautiful. We stayed in a condo overlooking the pool and ocean. The bed was very comfortable, rooms are exceptionally clean and well stocked, the accommodations were perfect. One morning, we asked where the best place was to get Fry Jack's, and even though it is not a meal on the menu, the restaurant whipped them up for our breakfast and they were so great. Be sure to ask for them. We enjoyed the ocean front bar and Ellison is very attentive and fun to get to know. Mitch and the restaurant team are great as well as everyone in the office. We loved this northern spot in Ambergris Caye for part of our vacation. There are plenty of nearby bars and restaurants if you have a rainy day and want to see other's beach views. If you like to swim in the ocean, it is a good idea to stay here as it's not too far from Secret Beach which is the area free from sargaasum and protected from the east wind. We couldn't kayak at Xtan Ha during our stay as the winds were too high. Tip, rent a good golf cart, with excellent suspension. The maintainer can't keep up but did plow while we were visiting and it makes a big improvement to the pot hole situation. …
Amazing hotel in people. My friend and I celebrated our birthday in BeliZe and we made the right decision. Mitch, Ellison, Gian, Kian and Claudia made our stay amazing. Make sure to book a lot of snorkeling with Tuff N Nuff. Food was great. 30 to 40 minute drive to town depending on what kind of golf cart you rent. Mexico rocks (snorkeling destination) is across the street lol. Secret beach is very close! Make sure to rent a golf cart somewhere in town because it’s cheaper. Get the beachfront room - it’s worth it.
Celebrated here for my boyfriends birthday ! Although we had a little issue in the beginning due to a room request , it was quickly fixed . The staff was super amazing ! Keith and Allison were superb and were super helpful and attentive ! The food here was amazing . We had food elsewhere and regretted we didn’t get to eat here for dinner ! Although the sargassum was super bad we had a great time since secret beach was only a 30 minute drive . The only real con we had was that to get to town it was a 40 minute drive and the last ten minutes to get to X Tan Ha was crazy since the potholes were huge. It was fun though ! Would visit again in future !
This place is an absolute gem! About 35 minutes north of San Pedro (by gold cart) is your own private paradise. White sand beaches, palm trees, really nice, clean, modern accommodations. The staff at Box Balaam restaurant on the dock are the sweetest. Not only is the food amazing, they are so friendly and helpful when we asked what to do in the area. There were lots of pool and beach chairs and it is just gorgeous there.
We stayed in a Pool view villa, and it was well worth the money. No bugs, mosquitos, and few flies. Air conditioning worked all the time. My view of the ocean, from my second floor villa, was GORGEOUS! The resort was barely occupied, as they were still remodeling some units. I was disappointed, in the beach, because of the seaweed, and grass in the water near the shore. We wanted to snorkel of the beach. However, they worked VERY hard ALL day to clear the seaweed. I saw dolphins from my hopper plane view. At the resort, stingrays swam past our dock. My spouse went on a couple of snorkeling excursions, he raved about them. We took the bumpy ride to Secret Beach, definitely for the vacationer looking for action. Do not rent from resort unless your in a hurry. Lots of less expensive options. We had 6 people, so we had avery hard time, never did, get a 6 seater. I found out you can book before you get there. I highly reccomend it. Restaurant was closed, so they offered room service. Very nice! We tired of the resort menu quickly, so we went shopping and ordered delivery pizza one day.The staff was extremely accomadating, anything I requested they fulfilled. I wish they would have done something to recognize our special occasion. The Belize locals were very nice, no pestering, no time share or investment presentations. Groceries were a bit high. We ate at the Jerk restaurant, very good. We brought our own alcohol. The iguana's were everywhere on the resort, they run from you. Getting to the resort was an adventure we were prepared for. Planes, boats, vans, and cars. It was fun! We went on the one day Myan excursion, we saw a boa constrictor, lemurs, terantula, holler monkeys, crocodile and more. The ruins themselves were outstanding, yes we climbed the steps to the top. This was one of those adventures that will have an effect for life. The whole time we were there, we felt very safe and never on alert. I would definitely go back to this resort. I hope they install hammocks on the porches.Covid testing was necessary to leave the country, they came to us, $75 at the resort, very convienient "Wonderful time!!!!:)"…
My daughters and I stayed at X'Tan Ha for a week during March 2022. It was magical. Although it is far from town, a long bumpy golf cart ride, the gift was truly the quiet beauty of the resort. Our villa was perfect for the three of us - and the views were stunning. I loved waking up to practice yoga on the beach each morning and we truly enjoyed the ease of taking a full exhale at the northern end of the island. We managed to visit Secret Beach, take a great snorkeling boat ride, visit resorts nearby and always had some sort of adventure in addition to several quiet days sitting beachside with a book in our laps. The staff was AMAZING - friendly and helpful and always available. Jair, from the tour company, offered us
We stayed in the Oceanfront Villa and it was well worth the money. Very few bugs, GardenVilla were very buggy. Beautiful Sunrises. The restaurant/bar staff were very friendly, food was okay. We had a kitchenette so cooked most of our meals. It is about 35 mins in a golf cart on Very bumpy bad roads. But was happy to be away from the noise of town. The hotel was only able to book 1/2 because of Covid so we really had a private pool and beach, was great! Basic little kitchenette, bathrooms were good size as was the living area and bedrooms. There was a seaweed bloom but they worked very hard at clearing it everyday. We saw dolphins and rays jumping from our balcony, you have to pay for any decent snorkeling as the reefs are patrolled and you need to pay. We went on the tours and had a fabulous time, swam with sharks and Rays and Turtles. We rented a Golf Cart from Avis good prices, do not rent from hotel the prices are much higher. Avis delivered to us and picked it up at airport was very convenient. We went to Secret Beach a couple times one to the Restaurant area and then we walked always up the beach and had it to ourselves was fabulous! The bars were busy and loud, we wanted quiet. They seemed fun tho. We found the people of Belize so friendly and helpful, no one pestering on the beach no timeshare harassment, Groceries and restaurants were expensive and alcohol wasn’t cheap either. All in all it is a beautiful country and we felt very safe.…
We had such a wonderful time staying at X’Tan Ha. From stepping out the door of our charming accommodations, we had virtually everything within a few steps away. Beautiful setting on the beach and poolside, along with activities including kayaking, paddle boarding, biking, walking the beach, or just chilling, reading a good book. The staff was amazing. The office management and housecleaning services were fantastic. We loved spending time in the beautiful Palapa having a fabulous meal or just sitting watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee or an afternoon cocktail. Mitch, Allison, and Marlon could not have been more enjoyable and accommodating. We could also take our golf cart ride to explore other wonderful restaurants. Dee Dee provided us with wonderful sailing and snorkeling adventures along the beautiful reef. She was delightful! We initially were concerned about being a little ways out of town, San Pedro. As it turned out we absolutely loved being in a quieter area with such pristine accommodations and such an attentive, thoughtful staff. We would highly recommend X’Tan Ha and look forward to visiting again some day.…
