My best friend and I spent the first week of November at White Sands Cove to celebrate our 50th birthdays. We each found a birthday card on our bed that was signed by the entire staff, which was very sweet of them to do.

I believe we stayed in C3. From the porch we could see the ocean through the trees and also part of the pool. The suite had a tropical feel and an a/c in each bedroom. The kitchen had the the general appliances as well as a microwave, dishes and utensils. We went to the local grocery store and bought some basic items for small meals and snacks. There was a large jug of fresh water on the counter and a smaller one in the fridge.

The property was well maintained. There were plenty of places to relax on lounge chairs and a couple of hammocks by the pool. There were also lounge chairs on the beach. The beach does have a cement wall that blocks the ocean instead of a beach that you can walk into the water. There is a pier/dock where our guide picked us up. It has a thatched roof with a couple of benches. The first morning we saw a couple of dolphins in the ocean.

We were greeted by Rosie the moment we arrived. She took us to the bar to enjoy a complimentary drink while she explained everything to us. Our luggage was both taken to our rooms when we arrived and then taken back to the office when we left. Javier, the bartender was very friendly and remembered our names the next time we saw him. Housekeeping did a wonderful job tidying up the suite and even the small amount of dishes we left in the sink (which was a pleasant surprise). The grounds crew raked the sand in the morning and one got us coconuts from the tree so we could enjoy fresh coconut water. The entire staff, from the manager to the night guard, were all very friendly.

There is a restaurant as part of the bar. We had breakfast there almost every day. There was also free coffee at the bar every morning.

With San Pedro being a short drive from the resort, we drove there several times to take in the sites there are several bars and restaurants in town on the beach. There were also a few places to stop on the way into town.

We rented a golf cart so we could come and go as we pleased. I suggest taking or buying some bug spray as there were mosquitoes out at all times.

My overall experience was great and definitely worth going back!!

White Sands Cove is an incredible find for us. We initially flew into Belize City, then took a small plane from there to San Pedro. The flight only lasted 15 minutes. A cab from the resort was waiting for us to take us to White Sands Cove.

Once we got there, we were greeted by Rose. She had our luggage taken to our villa, while we were seated in the outdoor bar, with complimentary drinks. She gave us the lay of the land. We later met Alec, the owner, and he too, was quite affable. Let me just say it now, everyone was very nice, and fun to hang out with.

The morning bartender was Ginell (sp?). You can get free coffee, as well as order breakfast. She shared with us places to go to like the Secret Beach, (It’s called that, but everyone knows where it is, so it’s not much of a secret). She also mentioned Tranquility Bay. Both were about a day trip each. To get around the island, folks used golf carts, which the owner procured for us, at an affordable daily rate. Most vehicles on the island are either the golf carts, or commercial vehicles. Very few personal cars.

The evening person at the bar was Shaggy. He was very laid-back, and, while I’m not much of a drinker, his cocktails were quite good. In the evenings here, guests congregate, as well as some of Alec’s friends from other resorts. It makes for a very congenial atmosphere.

I’ve saved the best for last, though, and that is Candy. She is the cook, and our entire time there we didn’t have a bad meal once. If we could, we would’ve taken her back with us, she is that good. All-in-all, we had an enjoyable stay, and I say this as someone who is not a beach person. They won me over!

One more thing, please remember to bring mosquito repellant. I forgot this initially, and paid the price for it.

We were looking for a short weekend getaway to Belize since we had never traveled here before, so my wife found White Sands Cove Resort. It looked just right and was it ever. Very quaint, secluded, quiet and relaxing. Accommodations are not too fancy, but just what we love, to feel like we are on the beach and not in a high rise hotel on the Vegas strip. The bar and pool were perfect with great food choices. They offer cart rentals and can book your snorkeling trip to have you picked up right at the dock on their property. It's also very convenient between San Pedro and Secret Beach. We will definitely be back soon!!

Thank you so much for your amazing review! We are thrilled to hear you had an amazing time on your first visit to Belize. The resort is just in the right location, away the busy town which makes it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the amazing view of our shimmering waters in the Caribbean. The food is so good! there's not enough words to express the delicious food Belize have to offer. Here at the resort, our dishes are beyond fantastic, so glad you got to enjoy it, as well with the accommodation the resort has to offer. We are so happy we had you guys as our guest. We truly hope you guys decide to come back very soon! Once again thank you so much for your review.

White Sands Cove markets itself as a resort / hotel, and i think this is misleading and setting the wrong expectations. The property is actually owned by several private owners who then effectively rent their appartment/studio/bedroom when they are not there. As this is managed centrally as a client you are none the wiser. On the plus side, it means the rooms are big and equiped so you could cook for yourself. On the other hand, there isn't the amenities and more importantly there isn't the vide of a hotel. We went in January and the residents seemed to be mainly the owners of the flats (70+ retired couples). Even though the surroundings are beautiful, and there is a pool bar, there isn't much atmosphere at all. The beach is nicely kept but due to the wall edge you don't really feel like swimming there ever, even from the pontoon. Hence we never wanted to spend much time at the "hotel", and we never felt like dining there or having a few drinks at the bar. So we found ourselves always out and about. This means it was very expensive for what you get in terms of amenities, service, and quality and comfort (the rooms are simply furnished without much care for the décor, but comfortable enough). On the plus side, it is peaceful and quiet, and the staff is friendly enough.

We visited White Sands cove in the first part of January and were amazed at the beauty of the resort. My daughter had her own floor with a king size bed and walk in shower. The beach had comfortable lounge recliners with the same at the pool.
Rosy and Lillian were very accommodating in setting up our activities and travel plans. The food was simple but tasty and free coffee in the am a big plus. The resort is in a great location in a quiet area not far from town. We look forward to returning to White Sands Cove soon!

My brother booked a surprise vacation for my parent's 50th anniversary. I'm usually the one that's very involved in finding the places to go...but my brother tried to book Captain Morgan's because my parents had been there in 2014 (which was booked) but a guy at Captain Morgan's suggested White Sands Cove, so my brother called them & booked right away.

We communicated with Rosie for a few months (probably about 6 months) for all of the arrangements that 3 different families needed/wanted. We arranged the golf carts, the tours, massages, meal plans etc. all in advance of our arrival. Everything worked out perfect & Rosie even schedule the massages in between the activities she had booked for us. Usually we're trying to book everything individually but having Rosie's help was really a key part to us having a relaxing vacation!

The resort was really nice, the pool was fun for the kids and there was a view of the ocean, but there were blooms on the whole island from the kelp (?) so you couldn't go into the ocean at our resort. We were a short 30 min drive from Secret Beach & town. There was house keeping every other day, the whole resort was very tidy & well kept.

The bar/restaurant onsite was great. The bartenders were always friendly & nice. But the cook, Karen was something else! We had a group of 10 so if we were going to eat a meal together we'd try to submit our orders the night before so we didn't delay the kitchen if anyone else was there. I peaked into the kitchen on the last night & Karen made miracles happen every time we ate together. I think she was the only one cooking & cleaning up the kitchen, but she'd get 10 plates of food out at the same time by herself. AMAZING Karen even went through the extra effort of making a nicely decorate table for my parent's 50th anniversary dinner.

It was a great place & I'd defiantly visit White Sands Cove again if we go back to Belize

My son and I stayed four nights at White Sand Cove on Ambergris Caye in Belize. We had booked a one bedroom garden view, but upon arrival were upgraded to a two bedroom with an ocean view. The room was clean and spacious. What a much appreciated surprise! John and Rosie in the front office were so accommodating and all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The chef at the restaurant made some wonderful breakfasts and dinners for us and Israel at the bar was a gem! We met some fun people at the pool bar gatherings and learned a fun Belizean dice game called "3's". Big shout out to Bill for teaching us that and lending us his golf cart one night. Also a shout out to Mike and Steve who were very fun to hang with. White Sand Cove resort is a laid back, beautiful community of good people right on the beach. It's only a 12 minute golf cart ride back to town and all the restaurants, palapa bars and conveniences. A great place to stay, relax and take in all the wonders of Belize.

This was a great place to stay. I love the full size condos with kitchens and living rooms and decks overlooking the ocean and pool. It was quiet, which I prefer and had a great pool big enough for all visitors. The restaurant on site was fine. The food was decent and the drinks were good. The staff all very friendly. The dive shops picked us up from the docks which made staying here super easy. I also liked that there were a couple of restaurants not too far away that we could walk to. I really enjoyed staying here, the atmosphere very tranquil and the views amazing. Keep in mind that many of the places along Ambergris Caye do not have beaches but with the pool and the diving, we did not need it. I would highly recommend this place, especially the condos with two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. They were very nice and very clean and when sharing with friends nobody felt crowded.

We loved every minute at White Sands Cove! The staff, esp Rosie and Ricky, were helpful and welcoming. The property is SO pretty and well-maintained. Pool and beach areas offered shade from plenty of palm trees, a hammock, nice lounge chairs, and of course, a bar! We were able to borrow bikes everyday to ride around the island. The villas are spacious and have everything you need. This location is "north of the bridge" and therefore out of the hubbub of the center of town. But still a short golf cart ride or bike ride to plenty of restaurants. Highly recommend!

White Sands Cove is a hidden gem just north of San Pedro Town. From the time of our arrival to our departure Rosie and the staff of White Sands Cove made us feel comfortable and provided amazing service to my wife and I throughout our stay. Rosie scheduled our pick up at the airport, arranged a golf cart rental, and three amazing excursions during our stay making us feel we were at home. The food was awesome and the rum punch was cold. I highly recommend this resort!

Thanks Rosie!
The Martinsons.

There was not washer/dryers in our room nor our friend's room. The hotel will do laundry for a fee - I believe the fee is $9 or $10/load.

Taxi cabs usually charge anywhere between 20 - 35 US Dollars to bring you to the resort, either from the San Pedro Airport or the San Pedro Marina. Our taxi cab driver will charge you 25.00 US Dollars and this includes a stop at the grocery shop, if you wish, this is where you can get snacks and grocery's for your stay. The reason that they are so expensive is that these taxi cab's have to pay a toll to pass the bridge, which is 7.50 US Dollars to go up the bridge and 7.50 US Dollars to go down the bridge, this is even they are empty. So basically the taxi cab drivers already include the toll pass on the total price that they are charging.
Answer from Guest Service

That should not be a problem, just keep us informed about what is going on and we are more than happy to make these arrangements. Our office is open from 7 am to 8 pm and our bar is open until 10 pm.
