This is our second time at Pelican Reef. The first time was 9 years ago (without kids) and we went back (with our 1 and 5 year old). As all the other reviews stated..this place was and still is top notch. It’s clean, the food is great, service is excellent and those cocktails are so good! Since we had a 1 year old they had a pack and play set up when we arrived. We don’t cook but it was nice to have a full on apartment available in case we did want to rustle something up. The washing machine and dryer in the unit was also great. We will be back!

Hotel's Favourite
Totally different from our typical large resort vacation, we absolutely loved our stay at Pelican Reef Villas! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet location with excellent service by amazing staff. Our family of 5 stayed here for our first time visiting Belize. Husband and I plus our 3 active teen daughters (17-18-19). We booked the “garden view” 3-bedroom/3-bath suite with a few weeks notice. I can see how the ocean view rooms would be amazing, but you can still see the ocean and pier from #24. Our 3 daughters shared the Master Suite on the top floor. They loved the seclusion up there, the room was very spacious, double sink bathroom, separate walk in shower and their own jacuzzi tub. They were like princesses in the tower. The rest of the suite was very well appointed- a/c was strong, fans in every room, spacious living room and dining area, full kitchen with good selection of cooking utensils. Knowing that we were visiting during “Green” season we planned for some rainy days/evenings to cook in and hang out in our suite. Plus we enjoy late-night munchies- having a kitchen is a priority. PRV is a couple miles south of town. Strongly recommend that you rent a golf cart if you stay here! It looks so close to town on the map but it’s a good 15 minute golf cart ride to get into town. The first half mile or so is on a dirt road with lots of potholes— the streets in town are cobblestones. At night it does get dark on the dirt road but you can’t get lost— it’s just one road in/out. After a few days, our daughters felt safe enough to take the cart into town on their own. Besides going into town for dinners or shopping, all of our excursion pickups were directly from our doorstep or pier, even our golf cart rental was dropped off/picked up from PRV. So convenient! Sunbathing on the pier was so serene. You can take a dip in the water from there, snorkel, use one of the resorts (free) kayaks or paddle boards. Also… the staff will bring your drinks and food out there! The beach is just as nice and peaceful too. I do recommend getting a massage on the beach! Note this not a walk up/swimmable beach— to get in the water you need to go to the end of the pier which is apparently typical for the entire island. We enjoyed the small infinity pool and swim up bar as well. So you get the jist— it’s a small resort with all the features of a big luxury property but with a more local, chill, friendly vibe. But the main reason for this 5-star review is the service and staff! Tristian is awesome with his email correspondence during the planning. Tristian, Tony and Cindy provided top notch concierge services— they provided great recommendations, we simply told them what we wanted to do and they took care of all the bookings for excursions and dinner reservations. Enrique is amazing! Eli, Byron and Steve were also all super friendly. Attentive service at the bar, poolside, and for breakfast/lunch too… great conversations, yummy cocktails, all of them went out of their way to make our stay memorable! Thank you PRV! We can attest to why you’re rated #1! We will absolutely stay here again!

Room Tip: Golf cart rental is a must! The bug/mosquito spray they provide works wonders. Stop by the bar...

Our first time in Belize/at PRV and it turns out we picked the right place! The grounds were beautiful and well kept, the pier is great for sunbathing and swimming, the beach was well groomed and spacious, and the rooms were very roomy and nicely upgraded. Above all was the staff, all were great!! Tristen was fantastic and made booking trips and dinners and anything else needed effortless, and was beyond helpful with his recommendations and assistance. Enrique and Shelby were amazing servers/bartenders always sharing conversation, quick to accommodate, and also sharing helpful tips, as well as making some great drinks. We can’t wait to go back!!

So the Hotel is beautiful, with a stunning view of the reef and Hol Chan, with a great pool and small reef. These are amenities that you can find elsewhere, but likely will be more crowded. Pelican Reef is more removed from the hustle and bustle of town- which we liked. It's still close enough to get anywhere you want easily though. What really sets this place apart are (1) the spacious rooms with a kitchen and great views (we had the pool view, which included impressive views of the ocean over the pool from our balcony and master bedroom), and (2) the staff who are so helpful. In particular, Tristian stands out. He is the most important asset of the hotel, and makes it stand out and above others. We were traveling with 2 families and kids and the chaos that attaches to such travel. Tristian reached out in advance of our arrival over email and text to coordinate transport, and then took (a lot) of time with me the day we arrived to plan and organize activities for our whole trip. His recommendations were spot on and made our trip exceptional-- and so easy. On short notice he set us up with multiple trips to the reefs, including an amazing all day adventure on a private boat that included snorkeling, fishing, a barbecue of the fish we caught, and so much more. What an incredible time! He also was available at all hours over text- which I still feel bad about when I learned he was actually off duty when he was responding to me. Can't thank him enough for really making our vacation. Will be back, and will be coming here again!

Excellent staff. We really enjoyed the breakfasts and lunches. and the resort was incredibly helpful setting up our planned diving, etc. The room was clean, nice, with a deck looking out on the ocean. Everything I had hoped for. The resort was clean, the beach well maintained, and we enjoyed floating in the pool when winding down at the end of the day.

Our 2 families had the most outstanding say at Pelican Reef! Our 3 bedroom condos were clean, well stocked and comfortable. Tristan was over the top amazing in arranging all our meal reservations, fishing expeditions, providing area information and just being an all round excellent guy! Enrique and Shelby provided wonderful service at the bar, were accommodating to all our personalities and helped make our stay the BEST!

Well, the reviews did not disappoint. Everything about Pelican Reef Villas exceeded our expectations for this family of five. Communication throughout the whole experience was immediate and informative. Concierge service was above and beyond anything we have ever experienced before. All services provided were professional, personal and of the highest standards. The property itself was immaculate at all times. The food was exceptional. The amenities were right at the doorstep with the pier, snorkeling, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. I highly recommend the Day At Sea tour with Captain Oliver. Tristan will set that up for you along with anything else you need at any time. Tristian is not only a wonderful human being, he is hands down the best concierge on the planet. Seriously. But more than anything, it was all the people at PRV who made it exceptional. Tristian, Enrique, Shelby, Manuel, all of the groundskeepers, housekeepers, shuttle drivers and everyone else were absolutely incredible. Everyone was warm and welcoming at all times. The location of PRV is far enough out of town to be very quiet yet close enough to access anything in San Pedro you’d like. I just cannot imagine staying anywhere else in the San Pedro area. Thank you PRV for all of the lifelong memories we made with you. We will be absolutely be back again.

Great staff, excellent views, super spacious rooms, and great food! We took a trip here in March 2024 with our 10 year old and 6 year old boys. They loved swimming right off the pier and playing in the pool. It was so nice to walk outside every morning and have coffee and breakfast right by the pool and beach.

This place is PHENOMENAL really. La Isla Bonita Madonna was right!!! Belize is still not a resort town thankfully like for instance Cabo is now. There are a couple of bigger resort like places on the caye but I honestly didn’t feel like they were nicer, we went and checked them out of course. This hotel is so lovely. It’s a small place with condos but still had the resort like vibe to it. The condos inside are maintained as clean as my own house which I loved! We went during the week so there was really no one there and it was so peaceful. This place was exactly what we were looking for to get away! Has a little small pool attached to a little bar. Never waited long for a drink or anything we needed. We were given a free breakfast and it was delicious. If you are a person that likes fancy food it may not be for you but I thought it was really good! The grounds are immaculately maintained, I could honestly sit anywhere there forever it’s so beautiful. I have been to a lot of really nice places but this place was just so amazing. Can’t think of another place where I can sit on a private pier in a lounge chair in paradise and not have anyone bother me. Shout out to Tristan for knowing and planning all of our things we needed and Shelby at the bar for being so friendly. A tip would be to pre order your golf cart and keep it the whole time you are there. Going into town is very easy and you’ll feel comfortable doing so. For sure bring bug spray you will need it on the dirt road but I never needed it by the water. Also the small flight there on maya air was so fun it was like an excursion in itself splurge to do that instead of a boat ride! The only thing I wish they had is seltzers since I like all other people of America love to drink them! However there is a market very close by where you can get snacks and alcohol if you so desire! Can’t wait honestly to go back!!! Thank you!

Stayed in an ocean view 2 bedroom villa over spring break with our 2 young kids. To say that we had ample space would be an understatement. The thing that stands out about this place is their attention to details. Anything we could think of was already thought out by them. The kitchen has everything you may ever need including things like a vegetable peeler, a garlic press, a steamer basket, Tupperware, metal and glass baking dishes. And the place was spotless! I am normally a stickler for cleanliness and hate staying in places with fabric sofas, especially when it’s in a damp humid environment. But the housekeeping at PRV are magicians. Even the dishes did t have that kept in the cupboard smell to them. They will make your stay the most relaxing ever, need anything, let them know. Our golf cart was delivered to us, our tours were setup so that we were picked up from the hotel pier. They had sand toys, and snorkel gear and everything g in between. Bravo to the management at this place, you guys k ow how to run an effective operation!
