We absolutely loved our stay at Pelican Reef Villas! We loved the location being a bit south of the downtown area so it felt more secluded yet wasn’t that far from going into town for lunch and dinners. The staff was all super friendly and helpful. Natalie and Tristan took such good care of us by helping us get excursions booked and make recommendations/reservations for dinners for us. Our condo was roomy and kitchen very well stocked and the beds were super comfy… it was perfect for our getaway with our friends. We had fantastic views from our room. The beach and dock area was what the doctor ordered for relaxing and we really enjoyed snorkeling right off the dock where we saw lots fish. Breakfast was so delicious every morning and we enjoyed fun rum and non-alcoholic drinks from the bar. …
Totally different from our typical large resort vacation, we absolutely loved our stay at Pelican Reef Villas! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet location with excellent service by amazing staff. Our family of 5 stayed here for our first time visiting Belize. Husband and I plus our 3 active teen daughters (17-18-19). We booked the “garden view” 3-bedroom/3-bath suite with a few weeks notice. I can see how the ocean view rooms would be amazing, but you can still see the ocean and pier from #24. Our 3 daughters shared the Master Suite on the top floor. They loved the seclusion up there, the room was very spacious, double sink bathroom, separate walk in shower and their own jacuzzi tub. They were like princesses in the tower. The rest of the suite was very well appointed- a/c was strong, fans in every room, spacious living room and dining area, full kitchen with good selection of cooking utensils. Knowing that we were visiting during “Green” season we planned for some rainy days/evenings to cook in and hang out in our suite. Plus we enjoy late-night munchies- having a kitchen is a priority. PRV is a couple miles south of town. Strongly recommend that you rent a golf cart if you stay here! It looks so close to town on the map but it’s a good 15 minute golf cart ride to get into town. The first half mile or so is on a dirt road with lots of potholes— the streets in town are cobblestones. At night it does get dark on the dirt road but you can’t get lost— it’s just one road in/out. After a few days, our daughters felt safe enough to take the cart into town on their own. Besides going into town for dinners or shopping, all of our excursion pickups were directly from our doorstep or pier, even our golf cart rental was dropped off/picked up from PRV. So convenient! Sunbathing on the pier was so serene. You can take a dip in the water from there, snorkel, use one of the resorts (free) kayaks or paddle boards. Also… the staff will bring your drinks and food out there! The beach is just as nice and peaceful too. I do recommend getting a massage on the beach! Note this not a walk up/swimmable beach— to get in the water you need to go to the end of the pier which is apparently typical for the entire island. We enjoyed the small infinity pool and swim up bar as well. So you get the jist— it’s a small resort with all the features of a big luxury property but with a more local, chill, friendly vibe. But the main reason for this 5-star review is the service and staff! Tristian is awesome with his email correspondence during the planning. Tristian, Tony and Cindy provided top notch concierge services— they provided great recommendations, we simply told them what we wanted to do and they took care of all the bookings for excursions and dinner reservations. Enrique is amazing! Eli, Byron and Steve were also all super friendly. Attentive service at the bar, poolside, and for breakfast/lunch too… great conversations, yummy cocktails, all of them went out of their way to make our stay memorable! Thank you PRV! We can attest to why you’re rated #1! We will absolutely stay here again!…
Pelican Reef Villas is a terrific place to stay. We have gone there for 5 years in a row and would dream of staying anywhere else. The rooms are wonderful, with all the amenities you could want from coffee in the kitchen, and a bottled water dispenser, to a washer and dryer with detergent included. The beds are comfortable, the air conditioning is cool and the shower's excellent with plenty of warm water. We have gone with our two young adult children as well as by ourselves. The staff is amazing. Everyone is so friendly and they really do make you feel like family; from remembering your likes and dislikes to making sure you have everything you need at all times. Tristan the Concierge takes care of all your needs. He sets us up for all our outings, meals, and reservations from the fanciest restaurants to the tiny hole in the walls with amazing food. He gives us directions and makes excellent suggestions. He even when the extra mile to find my husband a guitar one year since he didn't bring his. The value is also amazing, with two and three-bedroom condos, and breakfast is included (and it is good). On our most recent visit they were introducing dinners as an option beyond breakfast and lunch and the first dinner we had there was truly excellent. We love Pelican Reef and when you have a place as excellent as this there is no reason to look any further. We will most definitely be back.…
Pelican Reef resort is a lovely property. Our unit was comfortable and very clean. The view from our terrace looked out on the sandy beach area and reef. The staff at the resort are truly magnificent. They are friendly, helpful, kind, knowledgeable and cheerful. Every morning we could go down to the bar area and get fresh hot coffee to take back to the room. Later we would meet our friends in the shady bar area and we reserved delicious fresh cooked breakfasts that was included in the price. In the afternoon, sitting in the shade of a palapa after swimming and snorkeling off their pier, we we could order delicious cold drinks from the bar. Any and every question we had was answered; from restaurant recommendations to snorkeling adventures Natalie and Tristin took care of us. The only downside was we had to leave at the end of our holiday. They not only took care of the taxi to get us to the airport but also saw us off with warm “hope to see you agains”. I do hope we can return to this little slice of paradise.…
The staff are amazing, the property is very clean and meticulously taken care of and the food was great! We loved the free breakfast and fresh fruit juices everyday! Every room has a great view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn’t want to leave. If you are looking for a quieter resort without the large crowds, I would highly recommend this property. Thanks so much PRV!
Stayed here with my wife and our 2 kids, 4 and 7. Accommodations were amazing and our room has thoughtfully laid out. The food, drinks, view, and staff were top notch. The hosts and hostesses, which are always accessible right next to the patio and bar, act as logistical super heroes, organizing everyone's adventures, evenings, reservations, and recommendations. I can not wait to come back. Another nice feature, which we loved, was that the facility is about 15 minutes by golfcart south of the airport, which had both the effect of feeling more intimate and more private, while also still feeling completely connected to the more busy downtown area. Heaven with view.
Pelican Reef Villas is a very calm and laid back place to stay. The staff is extremely freidnly and the property is very well maintained. The on-site restaurant and bar is good. But there are other places to eat at a walking distance. Highly recommended for family travellers.
The lovely accommodations, the ocean views and yummy food is enough to give Pelican Reef a 5 star review but what made this place special for me was the wonderfully kind and helpful staff. They were top notch and helped me plan and arrange activities to make my trip incredible. They are so knowledgeable. I can’t wait til I return and will certainly be staying longer! The vibe was so relaxing and inviting. It was just perfect. Cheers!
Pelican Reef was a wonderful home base in San Pedro. It is a little farther out from town (about 10 - 15 minutes on a golf cart), but that meant that we were able to enjoy a bit more quite time and relaxing. The beach was amazing and the pool was great for our 11 year old. We had a big group (my partner and I, our 11 year old, and both sets of our parents (age 50 - 70)), but the suites worked out perfectly for us - 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a very comfortable air mattress for our 11 year old! The resort also helped us coordinate some amazing tours to go snorkeling in Hol Chan, take a day snorkeling, fishing, and exploring Caye Caulker with Captain Oliver, and enjoying a spa day. The trip much exceeded everyone's expectation and we all loved every minute!
Pelican Reef Villas is a little piece of paradise. This was hands down the best vacation we have ever had. The staff at Pelican Reef are truly the best--kind, friendly and knowledgeable. Shout out to Natalie, Tristan and the wonderful wait staff--Enrique, Estaban, Christian and Nieb. The made to order breakfast is included and is absolutely wonderful. They have delicious fresh juice that is a must have and also coffee every morning down by the bar. We ate other meals here and the food and drinks were awesome. We did rent a golf cart and would highly encourage this as it makes it easier to get around and into town. The villa was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Loved the central air and water cooler in the unit. We really appreciated the use of the paddle boards and kayaks as well. We can not wait to come back, and there is no doubt that we will. Thank you to everyone at PRV who make this place the well deserved #1 place to stay in Ambergris Caye on Trip Advisor. We agree! 😊…
