My Dad and I stayed here 3 nights on our first Belize trip and we loved it! Our flight into BZE was quite early, and we breezed through customs and were on our Maya Air flight in about 35mins, which was about 45mins earlier than projected. I sent Tula a WhatsApp message as we were taxiing down the runway at BZE and Clive was waiting for us with a sign when we landed in San Pedro. Our luggage didnt make the flight with us so we had to wait for the next one, which wasn't a long wait. During that time Clive took the time to explain some things about the island to us and point out some good restaurants, etc. We learned that Clive was also the bartender at the hotel, which we were happy about as he had such a positive vibration. Anyways, the hotel was great. Everything in our room worked, the beds were decent, the pool was nice, coffee in the morning was a nice touch and very delicious. We really liked the location of the hotel, and found the price to be very fair. Again, it is the staff here that makes this hotel stand out. Thanks again everyone!…
I’ve been coming to this place for quite sometime. They are under new management and could not have picked any better people to run the place. They treat you like family. Tula, John and Berta couldn’t be better to me and Clive (the bartender) has the best energy. Can’t wait to get back to my home away from home
This was our first stop in Belize on our honeymoon and already planning to return. Great for adults and families alike. Even better that the hotel is small, in the best way, so it feels very private. 1. Staff is really helpful, friendly and there waiting for us after we flew in on the hopper from Belize airport (recommend that!) 2. So many great restaurants, markets and D'Family Cafe for the coffee lovers like us, ALL within walking distance. 3. Golfcart rentals available with hotel or anywhere around the corner. Do not stress about this before arrival. 4. The room: Small fridge in hotel room is cherry on top! Great to grab water from the market and keep cold. Hot and cold water in the bathroom works great and we understand hard to 100% come by. 5. POOL and patio are such a sweet touch and great way to meet others staying in the hotel. We didn't notice any other hotels like this one beach front for such a great rate. 6. Location is perfection. Easy walks into town for dinner and short golf cart ride in either direction to get around. 7. They have security at the hotel and we felt completely safe there and also walking in the area. 8. Maybe bump into whoever you are reading this because we will be back!…
We had a fantastic stay at the Ocean Tide. The view from the deck is always stunning, especially if you are able to wake up on time for sunrise. The rooms were clean and comfortable with good AC. The pool was refreshing, and even though the bar was not open was a great place to sit with your own drinks. The hotel was right on the beach close to all of the bars docks above the water and is walking distance to stores and all the best restaurants in town if you don’t have a cart. We met the owners, who were kind, gracious, and extremely fun hosts. Highly recommend for anyone visiting San Pedro
We just spent 8 nights here and it was wonderful. I'm not sure what others are complaining about. Yes, this is an older property. We had a working TV with free wifi in our room (not that we watched TV since we were in the Caribbean!) The curfew was 10 p.m. but for the weekend it moved to midnight when we left. The staff here were simply wonderful and helpful. Dave, the front desk manager was super welcoming. He even let me borrow his cell phone to make a call to my bank (my phone didn't work in BZ) since I forgot to have my international banking approved before I left. He even loaned us a 5 gallon jug so we could get water for our stay. Carolina was our housekeeping staff and we had wonderful conversations with her. Karen was the tour coordinator and she went above and beyond to share excursions and set them up for us. She would come by the hotel to share more info and was instrumental in helping us enjoy our stay. The pool here is perfect - it was very clean and the water was a nice cool temp which felt great after being in the hot sun all day. The floors in the rooms are wood and that is perfect for when you track sand in from the outside. Our bathroom had a full tub/shower and the water pressure was strong and the water was hot if you needed it. Don't forget, you are in the Caribbean and the salt in the air impacts the fixtures. Our bathroom wasn't dirty at all - the faucet just looked corroded from the salt but again, who cares? If you want a 5 star hotel, book a 5 star resort! Our towels were clean, as was the rest of the bathroom. Ocean Tide is a very affordable place, centrally located with the beach literally across the "road", such as it is. Nice big deck to relax by the pool. Its a 2 min walk to multiple bars and about 5 min walk to get into town. There is an AC unit in each room that keeps it nice and cool when you get back. We left ours off to conserve energy (this is a 3rd world country after all) and it cooled down within minutes when we turned it on. We had a great time with zero complaints and were blown away by how friendly the people of Belize were. All of the staff at Ocean Tide were wonderful - so much so that we got their contact information to stay in touch with them. We will go back in a heartbeat. Sometimes I think people complain for the sake of complaining or their standards are so high they'll never be happy. Book with confidence and know you'll have a great time here.…
If you want the full Belize experience for a vacation, this is the perfect place. This property will definitely make you feel like you’re at home and make you feel like you want to make this island a permanent residence. The staff is amazing and the property is everything you could possibly imagine. You step out of your hotel room walk around the pool and you are on the beach. Bonus, there is an amazing Cafe with fabulous coffee directly behind the hotel. The food is amazing and everything you could possibly want for day trips, snorkeling, sunset cruises, diving school and trips is available right here. You can hear the music of the island, get involved or just hang at the pool and relax. The staff at OceanTide will make your visit work and have you making plans for the next trip. …
Nice place! Our room was clean, nice a/c ,comfortable ,on the beach close to everything. Excellent customer service. Complimentary tranpick up and return to the water taxi . Ocean Tide has a rustic caribbean charm. We will definitely be back 💜🇧🇿
First, one good thing, the room had AC. This hotel is very dated and in my opinion not very clean. I booked my stay through Booking.Com, the manager is very rude but I wrote it off as a culture difference but realize that was a lame excuse for a business manager. This hotel had no TV, right now there is a curfew in place due to Covid. Therefore, after 10 pm you are in your room. The manager stated that's why they provide free WI-FI, she also stated there was no TV because they reduce the prices of the room. The bathroom was not very clean and no water pressure in the showers, the gray face clothes (which I think was once white) looked like rags you clean your car with. The swimming pool was in need of cleaning, the titles on the floor is long overdue to be replaced. I read some of the other reviews on this hotel and I wonder if there was a special back door where they stayed at maybe a totally different hotel. Then on the other hand different taste for different folks. No I would not stay again.…
Had reservations for May through Booking.com...……Cancelled in April due to Covid restrictions......still have not received refund......Booking.com no help either.....Waiting for Resort to refund...….just too risky to chance your money right now
The Ocean Tide Resort was a joy to stay at while we were in San Pedro for two weeks. The staff was very attentive, the pool was always clean and the rooms are perfect for a trip to Belize (not fancy, but clean and comfortable). Towels were available at the front desk whenever you needed them - which is a nice touch. The pool area is very comfortable with areas in the shade as well as spots in the sun. The pool isn't super deep (more of a plunge pool) which is wonderful to cool off in the hot sun. The bar (Lazy Pelican) onsite has decently priced and had a great bar tender (Trent). Would highly recommend hanging out around Happy Hour and get some drinks.
