We stayed at Ramon’s for a week in January and had a wonderful experience. We had a deluxe jungle bungalow which was spacious, clean, and comfortable. I was drawn to Ramon’s because of the unique nature feel of this resort and the sandy beach area. It’s truly one of a kind on Ambergris Caye. We loved that they had a dive shop that did daily snorkel trips and there were lots of fish to spot right from the pier. The trip out to Hol Chan was our favorite. Pros: -Beautiful and authentic -Has a Sandy beach area w/ chairs and hammocks -Dive shop and restaurant on site -Great location and easy to get to restaurants and bars Cons: -the jungle bungalows are close to the main road and can get kind of noisy -the pool is under constant shade and really cold -they do not have cocktails onsite. Just beer and wine -solicitors and vendors will come up to you while you’re eating at the restaurant. That’s not the resorts fault though… although they must allow it.…
We loved Ramon's! Such an adorable little tiki hotel on the beach. Very relaxing, gave off jungle/Legends of the Hidden Temple vibes which we loved. Restaurant/bar was great and made excellent smoothies and iced coffee for us each morning. Walking distance from most things in downtown San Pedro, easy to get around, clean, and beautiful. Thank you Ramon's!
Beautiful grounds and spacious room, but not sure it is worth the price. The place has a tiki vibe with palm trees and jungle foliage. The beach is nice and they clean the seaweed and we ordered food from the Pineapple restaurant for lunch and it was good. Our room had a cut tiny balcony and was big. The bed was comfortable but noisy and it could have used a new comforter (old). The air conditioning worked well, but the room smelled damp. They didn't include any water bottles and there was a weird Christian vibe to the place that was noticeable in the pamphlets in the reception and in some of the paperwork in the room.
Went on a fabulous dive trip with my son.Ramones Village was top notch in their dive safety and taking care of their divers. I would highly recommend this resort. We were thinking about doing a excursion to the blue hole but one of the other diver said that the trip to Turneffe islands would be a lot better and they were sure right beautiful coral like I haven’t seen in years
I highly recommend Ramon's Village for Diving, Snorkeling, or just to have a wonderful stay in San Pedro, Belize. I took the Advanced Open Water Padi Course there. The dive staff, boats, and trips are excellent. Despite my wife not being an advid lover of being in the water, she had a great time snorkeling in the Mexico Rock reserve. She also tried snorkeling around the Blue Hole. The Hotel Staff were extremely courteous and helpful. The dive instructors, Heijero, Pete, Rio, and AC were great. We stayed at Becky and Steve's (the village across the street, not on the ocean front, but it was still convenient, quiet, and a beautiful place). They have ocean front lockers to store you dive gear, making everything very convenient. I intend on returning with family and friends. San Pedro is a wonderful place.…
This was our second visit to Ramone's. The staff couldn't be friendlier, and the service was great. The food in the restaurant ranged from average to exceptional, with my favorite being the Rasta Pasta. The bar has great coffee and smoothies. One thing to keep in mind that alcohol-wise the bar only serves beer and wine, nothing harder than that. So if you want a mojito you need to go to one of the nearby bars for that. The diving was great - after all, it is Belize. The boats are well maintained, and their dive crews were among the best we have ever been diving with. One thing to note - the water just beyond the reef offshore can be a little rough. We went out twice and encountered 5'+ seas. However, the dive crews were obviously experienced with this kind of diving and were of great help, getting us both in the water and back out of it. We also took a day-long excursion to Turneffe Atoll, which was worth the time and included snacks and lunch. The water was much smoother out there. Again, we can't say enough about the dive masters, captains, and crews. The facility shows wear and could probably be spruced up a bit. That being said, everything was in working order and clean. Overall our stay was fun and relaxing, and we would return here any time for diving or just relaxing. …
Every interaction with every employee at Ramon’s was exceptional. From the front desk, through the dive shop, wait staff, housekeeping, and transportation, every member of our family was greeted with genuine warmth and treated like family. We will absolutely be returning.
The good to Ramon's is: 1) great loction and easy walking distance to shoppping and restaurants 2) Staff are great, fun, engaing and helpful 3) ambience is natural and local feeligns Where they could do better 1) Food was good not great. 2) not very eco- minded- they use stryrofoam for take out, plastic straws, plastic disposable cups. Quite surprising for a dive centric resort. 3) aiport is nearby and the back rooms can be noisy.
No words to describe the beauty of this location, the friendliness of the staff, the amenities, etc. The diving from Ramon's was out of the world with such gracious staffing. I had the issue where my new go pro 10 didn't work underwater without a housing which I did not realize until my first dive. The dive shop at Ramon's had the housing for purchase! I cried tears of joy for the fact that I could use my brand new camera and get some outstanding footage! Just cannot say enough and plan to go back!
The staff is phenomenal. Nice restaurant and dive shop with it's on dock on site. The beach is the best on this site of the island. How ever we didn't go into the water from the beach. For me not clear enough, but from dock, great. If you are trying to make a decision to stay at Ramons or the sister property , here is my thought. It is cheaper, house as everything you need, but if you are light sleeper, it is loud, impossible to sit on your balcony because of the street in front of the units. I would not do that again Pools at both places are cold, nobody uses them. No Jacuzzi in either. Down the street is a store and around the corner Humane Seciaty, you can just take a dog 🐕 of your liking and bring back before they close. The dogs loved it, so did we. Hope this helps to make a decision we're to stay. …
