We stayed 4 nights and it was amazing!! The customer service was on point and everyone was so helpful! The property was super clean, rooms large and well apppointed. Full kitchen was awesome for families. 6 pools, beautiful views and activities at the dock. Great location as well. bars and restaurants near. We will for sure stay here again. m Pool bar was great, fresh food and drinks, they wash your clothes each day, room service, and local bars and restaurants!
We just returned from 6 nights at Grand Caribe. Upfront I will say we are not normally "big" resort people but this resort was a great option for our family with 2 older teens. We had a 2 bedroom condo that was ocean facing. The condo was spacious and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. The AC and Wifi worked well. Our 2 favorite things about Grand Caribe were the staff and the location. We had never been to Ambergris Caye before and we appreciated the ability to get to town or Secret Beach pretty easily. We visited a number of near by restaurants for breakfast and dinners. The staff working the pool bar were so nice from early morning breakfast by the pool or late afternoon drinks at the bar. The rest of the staff anywhere on the resort were very friendly and helpful. We did use the concierge to set up a couple of snorkeling trips and our golf cart. The resort also handled our airport transfers and scheduling. It was one less thing we had to worry about. A golf cart is a must to really explore the island. There is onsite covid testing and you could have it done in your room for no extra cost. Nearby locations we recommend for meals include Marbucks and Tres Cocos for breakfast, Rum Dog, Stellas and Truck Stop for lunch or dinner.…
The Grand Caribe is centrally located on the island of San Pedro. You have access to anything and everything you need. Book adventures through their friendly and service-oriented offices or just head out the door to explore on your own. Accommodations are clean and comfortable - definitely "home away from home" as they like to say.
My husband and I and our two kids (8 and 6 year old boys) spend two nights at this beautiful and amazing resort. Everything was more than what we expected. Beautiful hotel, amazing food and outstanding customer service. We also booked the room on the bottom floor within a few footsteps from the pool! I am so looking forward to my next trip in 2023.
After coming out of the “COVID Lock down” coming to Belize was the best experience, especially the customer service. ALL of the staff were very kind, respectful and friendly. The food is very good at all of the restaurants and comes out hot every time. The property is clean and beautiful. This was my first time in Belize and we choose the best resort to stay at. Our 7 day vacation was better than we could imagine. Thanks to the entire Staff at Grand Caribe. We will make this our annual vacation spot! PS Please do not feed the iguanas. They will jump up on your lounger and take your food.
Excellent service, the room was huge and amazing. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, amenities are great with free laundry and free kayaks. The concierge set us up with anything we asked for from dinner reservations to excursions. They answered everyone of our questions whenever we asked. Pools were warm and with perfect views of the ocean.
This location is the best. North Side with very easy access to all of the fun dining spots and easy to get to town. There is sargassum here, but the staff does an EXCELLENT job keeping it at bay. The groundskeepers are the best and the property is spotless. It has a very nice pool (the biggest I have seen at any Belize property) and nice swim up bar with a beautiful view of the dock. White sand beaches to lounge. The only few cons were beach towels. There are 6 of us and EVERYDAY they could only give us 4 because they were out of them. Not acceptable at a “luxury” resort. The housekeeping service is phenomenal! Each time we come back it feels like we are checking in again - so clean! And, they do your laundry for you in the room while they’re cleaning. The views are incredible from the walk outs. However, I would avoid building C (the Caribe). The building next to it completely blocks your northern view so you only see the beach straight ahead but can not see the dock or anything to your left. Your condo will depend on how nicely the owners decide to fit it. We have nice Cusinart kitchen utensils with toaster overs, pans, tons of glasses - enough to make a full dinner for 6. But, I have heard others use cheaper items or just do not have them at all. The layout is very strange. We have a 2 bedroom walk out and our kids are in another so we could use ours for the main gathering room. To enter our unit, you enter directly into the master bedroom and have to walk through it to get to the main area. Not useful since I go to bed before everyone else! So, we have had to leave our slider on the beach unlocked for coming to and from. Not a big deal, just awkward to get used to. It is SO nice having a third guest bathroom so my husband and I can get ready at the same time without him steaming me out! Very relaxing to wake up to the calm water. Bring yourself some nice expensive binoculars! We have seen dolphins, sharks, birds all from the comfort of our a/c living room. The air conditioning is OUTSTANDING. Ice cold. You do need to learn to override it as many are set on “away” but once it kicks - it kicks! The mosquitos are INSANE in the morning and at dusk. I recommend brining 100% Deet. I know its gross, but as an example, my daughter walked outside for 10 minutes and came back with 40 bites. They do I go away when the sun comes out. But, it rains, they swarm. We have had zero problems with any bugs or critters in our room. It’s been very comfortable. I would not say this is a lux property, but there really aren’t any true lux properties on AC. I will say it is a much nicer location than we stayed before (Victoria House) as the convenience of it’s location is perfect! It is also extremely clean and the staff is wonderful. It feels like you are renting a very nice VRBO with staff on site. The fitness room in bare bones, but enough of what you need. You do need a reservation, which is frustrating. I understand the need because it is so small, but each time I have gone there is NO ONE else in it despite them having a reservation so people just aren’t showing up. If you keep up your routine on vacation, call and book your time in advance. The grocery store on site is a nice plus for snacks, cocktails and beer. We are with our teens and one of them had an emergency. The after hours clinic onsite closes at 5pm and there is no way to treat trauma in town. Just a side note as this was a bit of a scary experience for us. Thankfully he did not need stitches and we handled it, but it really made us think about destinations with no medical ER. There are many families with young children here and I would think about that or just have a plan just in case you need one. If we come back to AC, we would definitely stay here again.…
Very nice property and rooms. Staff is excellent and responsive. Booking staff arranged everything, including flight for Belize City to Ambergris Caye, airport transport, and golf cart rental (which is right across the street from the property).
I just got back from Grand Caribe and it was amazing! Our condo was so nice, everything we needed. The beds were super comfy, kitchen was extremely well stocked! It was so nice to have the maids come every single day, they did the dishes and washed our clothes (we just had to ask). Main pool was huge, with great layout for everyone (multiple shallow entry areas on sides of pool and pool bar). Of note, we stayed on 3rd floor and I don't think there was an elevator, if you have mobility concerns double check this.
We just got back from six nights in seven days and really enjoyed this property. It was one of the nicest properties that we saw there and we were very happy we chose it. We had a two bedroom walkout which was the best, we could walk right out onto the dock and jump in the water every day and it was quiet where our room was. We loved being able to walk out onto the deck in the sand every morning and not have to deal with elevators or hallways to get to the water.
