Let me just start by saying, this property was amazing! The owners, Serena and Aaron were so helpful and friendly. They made me feel welcome. I traveled by myself and felt extremely safe. I would definitely recommend staying at this property especially if you are a looking for a quiet personable spot away from the huge resort.

Our first visit to Belize was wonderful even though the weather wasn't ideal. Serena and Aaron were very thoughtful hosts. We loved our villa by the pool and bar. Due to a mixup we arrived a few hours later than we had planned but Christian and Margarita were cheerfully waiting with our rented golf cart and we followed them from San Pedro to Mangata. They took us past some restaurants and pointed out some favorites. Serena and Aaron gave us an orientation at their lovely property. We enjoyed the delicious drinks and pizza at the Moon Bar several times. We also had several great meals just 2 doors down at Portofino. Aaron and Serena alerted us that we would require a negative Covid test to return to the US and they arranged for the tests at our villa. They were very attentive to us and any needs we might have. We did enjoy a snorkeling outing at Mexico Rocks, but we mostly relaxed at Mangata and enjoyed several different restaurants and the drive to them on our golf cart. We also visited Secret Beach and we even saw a few crocodiles in the marshy lagoon side of Ambergris Caye. We were delighted with the hospitality of our hosts and everyone we encountered. This was our first time here and I cannot say enough. Our casita was incredibly appointed with the most comfortable bed and sheets, with all the amenities we needed. If we needed more, they were provided within minutes... seriously, MINUTES. The service here from the moon bar staff to Serena and Aarons attention to detail is nothing short of top notch. The beach front lounges were clean and perfectly situated. They work hard at detail and it shows in EVERYTHING. This location is a nice ride to everything. Had the best time with our friends and we will be back!!!

Because of COVID we it took us 2 years to finally get to Mangata Villas and it was worth the wait! Serena, Aaron and all the staff were super friendly and incredibly helpful in making our vacation fantastic! The area is beautiful and we were never at a loss to find things to do. The snorkeling was amazing! Pizza and drinks at the Moon Bar was a great way to get to know the other guests and learn more about Belize from the staff. Serena and Aaron always had time to chat and make sure we had everything we needed. We will return!

All the reviews about Mangata Villas are true. It's a little bit further down the road from town, but that just means it's more peaceful, private and pristine. The hosts, Serena and Aaron, are so welcoming and truly go the extra mile to make sure you have everything you need to make the very most of your vacation. They recommended the best cart rental, tour guides, restaurants, and even bug prevention. The casita was very comfortable and clean - with cold A/C, hot showers and good internet and TV. The onsite bar is the cutest on the island with tasty pizza, delicious drinks and friendly servers (all of which really came in clutch on a rainy night). If you're lucky enough that Mangata Villas has a vacancy during the time you plan to visit, stop reading reviews and go book it now!

Serena and Aaron are the best and you need to visit this place now! We stayed closer to town the first 7 days then moved to Mangata Villas. It is so much more quieter there and their grounds and beach are pristine. The Moon bar is great with some of the best pizza on the island. Mr. Rovinson is a great bartender and makes the best drinks. You need to try a Moon Boom shot and my favorite was the Jalapeño Margarita. After we spent 10 days in Belize to me it’s the perfect spot. Easy to get to Secret Beach. We went on up to Tranquility Bay too. Put this place at the top of the list. People will complain about rough roads getting there but that is Belize, you just deal with it and enjoy the rest of the beauty the island has to offer. It far outweighs a little rough road. We had the best time staying at Mangata Villas! Everything is exactly as advertised, although the pictures do not do it justice. The beach and pool are so inviting and relaxing. We loved taking out the kayaks and paddle boards! Our room was comfortable with every little detail you could think of needing. You really cannot beat waking up and walking out immediately onto the pool deck! Most mornings we had the beach/pool area completely to ourselves until the bar staff showed up around noon- and even after that there were often stretches of afternoon that were quiet. It was the perfect mix of privacy and relaxation, but still meeting fun people who stopped by Moon Bar and socializing with other guests. Speaking of Moon Bar, we loved the pizza and cocktails. The staff was very friendly, and we got to know the bartender well by the end of the trip (hard not to when you saw them 6 days in a row). It was so convenient to have great food and drinks right outside your door after a long day of travel or an excursion, and is something that I was very appreciative to have compared to other traditional condo options with no restaurant on site. We especially enjoyed the weekly yoga class and Friday night movie! I can't write this review without mentioning the amazing hosts, Serena and Aaron. They were incredibly accommodating when our flight into San Pedro was delayed and we had no idea when we would arrive, still meeting us at the airport with a smile. One of our party tested positive for Covid at the end of our trip and even though we had checked out, Serena still went out of her way to help make accommodations and check in on them throughout the rest of their time in San Pedro. They're truly kind and welcoming people who go the extra mile to make sure their guests enjoy the trip! We would recommend Mangata Villas to anyone (and in fact already have!) who is looking for a relaxing, beautiful vacation in Belize!…

Serena and Aaron 100% exceeded any and all expectations in my recent stay with my boyfriend and one other couple. We stayed in two separate casitas. Both were clean & private, with ample space and huge comfortable beds. Every convenience was thought of in great detail to ensure an ultimate relaxation opportunity for all of us. Serena’s response time is incredible, as well as all of her recommendations. If I had a fleeting idea of something to do, I would message her and she would quickly reply back with on point recommendation and contact information. If I am ever back in San Pedro and Mangata Villas, by some act of God, is available, I am 100% booking it again.

We had a Casita which was lovely. Anything we needed was answered. Serena and Aaron were both helpful, thoughtful and informative. We had absolutely no complaints and although we plan on exploring other parts of Belize to find where we want to settle, I would gladly come back to Mangata given the chance.

We celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary at Mangata Villas, the dream of Serena and Aaron, which they shared with us. We become part of their family the minute they met us at the airport...because that's how they are. Incredible hospitality and an impeccable villa surrounded by the beautiful Caribbean characterizes our recent stay. We have travelled all of the world, and this is definitely 5-star quality. We had to terminate our vacation unexpectedly, and Serena and Aaron helped arrange myriad details so we could leave ASAP. We will always remember their care and kindness.
