Everything about this place is perfect. The location, the friendly staff, the amazing people you'll meet. A space to eat and drink and have some party time but also a little Oasis for some relaxation.

This place is RIGHT on the water. Don't even need to put my shoes on to get in the sand or next to bright blue water.

Such a good deal for good quality.

I would attend again in a heart beat.

Wow! I can't say enough nice things about this place! As a solo female traveler, and with it being my first time to Belize/San Pedro, I was very particular about where to stay as location and safety were important. I was a bit of a pain because of some last minute plans and they were so accommodating for me. I planned to travel here from Caye Caulker for 2 nights and ended up meeting new friends and staying an extra night in Caye Caulker instead of heading to San Pedro. It was absolutely no problem and they allowed me to check in the next day. This was my first time in a hostel setting so I opted for the private room and bathroom to acclimate a bit. The location was perfect, walkable from the water taxi terminals though golf cart rentals were plentiful nearby. Within walking distance to several great bars and restaurants like Palapa Bar, Estel's and Wahoos. Access was a little confusing as the actual rooms are behind the Sandbar lobby area but an employee pointed me to the correct location. The room was beautiful! It looked like it had some recent updates and was extremely spacious. It included a small kitchenette with a few bowls and plates, utensils, coffee cups and a coffeemaker. A tall hutch to hang clothes which also included a warm blanket which was nice since this room had phenomenal air conditioning. The bathroom was also spacious and the water pressure was awesome, as well as the temperature. There was a shared patio space with a few chairs and not much of a view of the island, but overlooked the amenities of the courtyard and small pool below. The walls were thin so you could hear your neighbors but no one was too rowdy and the shared spaces in the courtyard were nice if you wanted a change of scenery from hanging out in your room. They were doing some kind of repair nearby and a yappy dog made for a bit of morning noise but not a huge deal. I was given a bracelet which allowed for discounts at certain places which was a great and unexpected touch. I was also provided with a binder full of information for my stay. Sandbar had great drinks and a late-night menu and I got to talk to some really cool guests and the bartender was awesome. They have a dock area across a sandy path equipped with chairs and tubes to float in, which was great to hang out and watch the water. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the perfect place for my short stay in San Pedro. I will definitely be back so that I can explore more and take advantage of all of these great amenities.

There are so many great reasons Drift Inn is one of my favorite places to stay in San Pedro! I travel here often as a solo traveler and with friends. The private suite rooms are a great option if I’m with friends or small group and the dorm option is great if I’m solo. The location is walking distance from the main part of town with many beach side restaurants and bars being very close! It’s also attached to Sandbar Restaurant which has great food and drinks with an awesome view of the water and dock with lounge chairs to soak up the beautiful Belize sunshine . A golf cart can be arranged for places farther than walking distance for a better price than renting other places. Hailey and Stephanie are both great hosts at the hotel and recommendations around town! There is air conditioning and hot water which is not always common in all hotels on the island. Especially for the price. Overall, it’s a great value for your money, the location is great, it’s safe, and I’ve always had the best experience. I would 10/10 recommend for a laid back quaint hotel experience, which is what I believe Belize is all about!

Drift Inn is a small place with a big heart! The staff is friendly and accommodating. Located just off the beach, a minute walk from my favorite dive shop, Reef Adventures (check them out for diving, snorkeling, fishing, kayak rentals and more). The rooms are clean and basic with a simple island aesthetic. There are mini fridges in several of the rooms, with a shared microwave and bottled water in the upstairs hall. For cooking there is a shared kitchen on the ground floor. WiFi is available throughout the building, better in some spots than others. There are several areas to sit alone or hang out with others. There are many food options within walking distance. The owner/operator, Hailey, is awesome, she was responsive prior to and during my stay. I also had the pleasure of meeting her mom, Donna. This is a great place to stay for solo travelers of all ages, especially women, and I was fortunate to meet several during my 11 day stay. I also loved having all the cats running around! Despite the stress of dealing with Covid-19... extra cleaning, mask wearing, a curfew... I felt safe, comfortable, and happy, I was so sad to leave. Thank you for a wonderful and relaxing stay and for the ride to the airport, much appreciate it!

I stayed in the female dorm at Drift Inn for 5 nights.

Accommodation: The beds are comfortable, but get quite warm and noisy with the plastic mattress cover. The toilets and showers are cleaned daily, but the shower curtain is short, so water would often flood the hallway, making the floor slippery. There are lockers in the dorm, but they are small, so it can get messy with everyone's stuff lying around. Most people were tidy though.
Staff: All of the staff were really nice and helpful, but I didn't feel that Hailey (the owner) was very helpful or professional when asked questions. Another guest was locked out of the building because Hailey forgot to give her the code when she checked in. I was checked in by a staff member who was much more through and professional.
Environment: The hostel is busy with guests, who are generally really nice. The kitchen is small, but serves coffee in the morning and filtered water all day.

Overall a great stay!

(Just realized I never responded to this post before.) Please note that this guest arrived after hours (around 9:30PM) was given the door key code and a full check-in. I even had her repeat the code back to me before leaving her in the room. After her check-in I left promptly, since it was late. However, I am available at the click of a Ring button at the front desk and by Whatsapp/phone at all hours (business cards available at the desk). If she needed me I would have given her the code over the Ring app or come back to the hotel. She chose not to use the options available to her and instead sat outside until another person came to enter the dorm. Please review based on your personal experiences and not others whom you were not around to witness.

We are a family of four and stayed twice at this superb place during our 3 weeks stay in Belize. We had two different rooms and both were very spacious with multiple beds (one with 2 bankbeds for our kids), well working ac, a kitchenette with a decent, clean fridge, coffe machine (with free ground coffe) and a proper table to eat at. Drinking water is freely available on the corridor. My favourite spot was the balcony where I had my morning coffe (free coffe brewed at the reception at 8am) or listen to the evening noises while watching the palm trees in the evening sky. Honestly you couldn't ask for more.
We used the communal kitchen as well a few times - super clean, well equipped and it is outside so you actually can enjoy the cooking in a warm evening while having a drink and a chat. The food at the Sandbar (attached beachfront bar) is excellent and very reasonably priced, so eat there pretty much every day at some point of the day.
The hotel is well thought through with a layed back atmosphere, equipped for travellers and perfect for families with kids. I would only stay here if lucky enough to return to San Pedro. Unfortunately we only realised later that it has a sister Hotel on mainland (Drift Inn Cayo near San Ignacio), we would have booked it to stay there as well.
Would highly recommend this place to all ages, solo, couple or family stays.

Hotel was clean and within walking distance to beach, restraunts, grocery store and so much more. Felt very safe and our room was very comfortable with a nice size shower for a couple and there was a mini fridge in the room to keep our beverages very cold. Going back to stay here again

I stayed at Drift Inn San Pedro in July 2022. The place is not fancy but everything is really clean.
I stood there for one week working remotely and connectivity was fair enough. The price of the shared room is fine but I found that the price of the private one is a little bit expensive. Great location, the swimming pool that is shared with the hostel next to it (Sandbar) is amazing, and I felt very safe while staying at Drift Inn.
I loved the fact that there were two water dispensers and you can have drinkable water whenever you wanted to.

I would recommend it.

We stayed in a double room on the street side of the property. I was expecting lots of street noise, but was quiet in the evenings after 8pm till morning when people started going to work, even then didn't find it interfered with rest or sleep. The room was more than adequate for us, the double bed was comfortable, the A/C unit worked good. Bathroom was good, lots of hot water for showers and water pressure was good, the sink to wash was not in the bathroom, but in the bedroom area as part of the dresser and vanity, which kinda threw us off, but we made it work. We didn't use the kitchen area or common area much but it was good for economic travelers. From the east side you enter the Sandbar restaurant & hotel, which served good food, as well had access to the beach. The Sandbar also allowed Drift Inn guests to use their pool (but the beach was just a few steps away). Also it seemed much closer to walk down the beach rather then through town to get to the hotel through the Sandbar. If you want maid service to clean the room just ask at the desk, they didn't charge us for it. This is not the Hilton, but we didn't pay Hilton prices, it is for economic travelers, we are both in our 60's we felt safe and secure and treated with respect. We stayed for 6 nites, nothing but good to say about our stay the staff were friendly and helpful we would go back in a heartbeat. Also the Kmart store is around the corner to pick up supplies (beer) and check out the Pallapa Restaurant over the water right in front.

My teenage daughter (15) and I spent nearly a month here at Drift Inn; we absolutely LOVED it! The happy, creative, and contemporary decor makes this boutique even more special! The upgraded mattresses and chilling AC made our room like a little oasis. The beach and reef view from our balcony and the warm ocean breeze relaxed us more than I could have imagined! We usually can only afford a week or ten day get away but the Drift Inn prices and comfort allowed us stay 30 days and to truly unwind.
We joked about all the fun things there are to do nearby for under $5 and the fact that you can eat local style meals for under $5.
The community freezer kept my rum cold and the fridge chilled my beer to prevent any bar bills at all the whole month!
Hailey and Donna make sure every need is met and invited folks out on their own excursions cause they’re just cool like that.
