My daughter, myself and our Aussie stayed for 3 days and literally were the only people staying there. It was amazing, the dog raced up and down the beach and in and out of the water for hours. The room was sea facing and had amazing sun rises. Melissa the Chef was great and no words for the roof top bar tender and how accommodating he was for us. There was no ice machine so you will have to request, it has a small fridge/coffee and tea maker and a daily breakfast that was excellent, I would recommend the scrambled eggs and fresh fruit and the portions were huge. One this on a heads up if you order coffee with breakfast you will be charged extra. This location is quiet but isolated and far from town via golf cart, at least 30 minutes. The beach is well groomed and everyone that works there was amazing. One thing I can say is there is an extra charge even if your dog is a service dog and not a lot of activity. The menu is limited but Melissa is very gracious in making other items if they have the ingredients. I would recommend this hotel if you want peace, quiet and good service but not ideal for families that want to be busy and doing activities. We tend to be foodies and San Pedro has so many amazing restaurants next time we will stay closer to town on paved roads.…

We really enjoyed having you stay with us! You are all so lovely it was sad to see you go. Molly your dog was so amazing we enjoyed talking care of her for you in the day while you were gone. We do our best to ensure you have a wonderful stay. Our kitchen is always willing to cook you something different due to dietary reasons. We have the full breakfast menu, lunch menu, Boat bar menu,dinner menu and the lobster menu. There is coffee in your room and downstairs in the kitchen that is free of charge. If you ask for our espresso ,americano , cappuccino or latte that is a charge. Thats the Italian espresso. I hope you still enjoyed the pool with infinity pump not running. It was turned off. I hope to see you all again soon. Much love .

We stayed at Playa de Sala Nov 25 - Dec 9, 2022. Forest (who is originally from Canada) and her staff are second to none! The Boutique Hotel has 5 beautifully decorated suites, a small pool, and an incredible ocean bay view! If you want privacy, with options, this is the place. The staff is welcoming and attentive. Jose, the chef of Salas kitchen, is incredible! People come from other resorts to eat his creations on the roof top restaurant and bar. Orlando is bartender extraordinaire! Friendly, creative, humorous and fun! Melvin is so comfortable, caring, attentive, and genuine. Luis and Ernesto take care of the rooms, yard and building maintenance. These guys make one feel special and right at home. Like family.

Playa de Sala is something out of a fairytale. It is run by a lady named Forrest, who really knows her stuff. I stayed in two different rooms and they were both very clean and gorgeous. The staff here is very friendly and looks after your every wish from golf cart rentals to help you get around to snorkelling adventures. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Where do I even begin... After spending a few days close to the town in San Pedro all I wanted was somewhere quiet and private. I got to Playa De Sala and fell in LOOVEEE.. This place is the only reason I actually enjoyed San Pedro. It felt like home, the rooms were so cute, the breeze was constant, the food was 10/10 every time.. The staff from check in to check out were amazing and so kind. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this boutique hotel. Its quiet and private, you wont want to leave.

Playa de Sala is an amazing tropical getaway and definitely recommended if traveling to San Pedro town! The hospitality was amazing, they had a golf cart for me and scuba booked within 1 hour!!! Sala is a very knowledgeable host/owner, will tell you all about about island life, is well respected in the community and will hang out with her guests! This boutique resort has clean rooms with quality amenities, beautiful sunset views from the rooftop restaurant with live music, refreshing pool with build in seats and historic Jamaican boat bar!!!!! One review (one) said this is a swinger hotel. Not sure where they got that idea lol. I did not pickup any swinger vibes. Sits right on a bay WITH NICE SANDY BEACH with free to use paddle boards and kayaks which I took full advantage of! FYI most of the beaches in San Pedro are covered in Sargassum (seaweed) thus beaches must be cleared and sandy beaches are hard to come by. Which makes this resort ideal. Location is southern end of the island and not a problem driving back at night via golf cart. You would probably have to throw a beer at a police to earn a DUI, be respectful!!!! Don’t ruin it.…

The owner and her staff are amazingly friendly and pay such careful attention to detail at this boutique hotel. The rooms are perfect- contemporary, clean, comfortable. We had the Travertine Room on the first floor/corner which was private but still just a few steps from the pool. The tranquil views from the room and balcony were beautiful. There are plenty of lounge chairs, palapas, and a refreshing (but small) pool. The on-site bar and restaurant were perfect for every meal- great variety, quality, and so flavorful. Their new boat bar is awesome!! We especially appreciated the generosity and helpfulness of the owner, Forest, and the hard working staff. We were so well taken care of! Juli and Ian helped us with taxis, booking a snorkeling tour and arranged massages on site- MUST DO activities! The hotel is a jaunt from town but very safe and easy to navigate via rack or golf cart rental, even late at night. I love supporting & feeling well connected to the local community and I felt like by staying here we fulfilled that! Great place to stay for sure!!…

Playa De Sala had such a luxurious yet homely feel about. I loved the fact it was close enough to the town if you needed anything but far enough away to feel like you’re in complete privacy and serenity. We enjoyed days by the pool and chatting with the friendly staff who were only too happy to help with anything we may need. The food is absolutely delicious! The club sandwich being my favourite which paired nicely with Melvins famous coconut pina colada. We felt incredibly relaxed our entire stay and that’s large thanks to the huge luxurious bed and high quality comfortable linen. Our room was serviced daily and done very well, it was such a nice feeling to come back to after a long hot day exploring the island. We were sad to leave and hope to visit again soon! My partner and I were after a romantic, quiet getaway and we definitely came to the right place at Playa De Sala! Firstly the communication and ease of booking was great! A staff member greeted us on arrival with delicious cocktails and a fresh cool eucalyptus towel which was a welcoming treat after such a long hot day travel! Our room was so modern and clean and we appreciated the little snacks and coffee station. The bed - OMG! It’s the best we have slept on in months of travelling! If my partner could put it in his suitcase I’m sure he would haha. A deep restful sleep meant we woke up feeling amazing which only added to an already great getaway. The food is incredible! Treat yourself while you’re there and try everything! We loved that it’s located on the quiet side of town away from the hustle and bustle of busy San Pedro central. We enjoyed days hanging by the pool and watching sunset at the gorgeous rooftop bar and restaurant at night. The accommodations are out of this world, Playa De Sala is without a doubt the very best hotel on the island. If you enjoy peaceful, friendly, first rate hotel and restaurants - you will not be disappointed. The room was stunning, the view equally stunning, the food was so delicious and staff so kind and friendly, we enjoyed every day and every meal! It was so nice to be on the lagoon side of the island south where there are not sargassum to deal with, it truly is the perfect location. Forest, the owner, is an absolute sweetheart angel and made our stay truly amazing. We have told all of our friends what an incredible paradise resort this is and highly highly recommend. This is the perfect place for a romantic get away, as a solo, or with friends.

The resort is very small. Only 5 units and it is about 20 minutes from town where everything is. If you like quiet then this is the place for you but the pool is so small and half of it is under the shade. The website is deceiving the way they photographed the pool. The beach is not swimmable. It is black, murky water. Our room (Wood Room) was tiny and we had no privacy when using the bathroom. There is literally a wooden framed box-like area at the foot of the bed that doesn’t go up to the ceiling and the toilet is inside. The staff, however, was so friendly and helpful… we really loved them. The continental breakfast only consisted of two scrambled eggs with a piece of toast and a few little pieces of fruit, along with coffee or tea but if you wanted a refill on either, they charged for it. They have a roof deck that you can eat at and the food was just average… nothing to speak of. We had to go into town every day for breakfast lunch and dinner. If you stay here you definitely need to rent a golf cart for the week to get around. You are literally in the middle of nowhere.…
