The location is lovely. Gorgeous grounds steeped in history. The ambiance can't be compared. The service could use some work, though, as could the food. Restaurant on site has gone downhill a tad, which is a shame. Food quality and customer service must improve, but the location and atmosphere make up for most of the problems. For families and couples...

This resort was beautiful and we visited on New Year's Day so the buildings and big trees were decorated and lit up.As a family of 4 (one teenager and one 11 year old) with a dog, we found lots to do and while we only stayed one night I wish we could have stayed long longer. We enjoyed walking around...

I was amazed that Barnsley had so much to offer. Several restaurants to choose from as well as golf, spa and trap shooting. The accommodations are awesome and my room had a fireplace. Staff was great. I was there for business, but would definitely take the family back!

To start with, I would like to say that the cottages, the grounds, and the other spaces around the complex are all beautiful and cozy and i had a great time staying for four days this winter. But what is extremely difficult to get past is just how awful the service was. The housekeeping was a bit of a challenge...

Spent two nights here to celebrate Christmas/Birthday. We were kindly upgraded to a suite and sent a cheerful balloon arrangement. Sure made us feel welcome! Beautiful accommodations in a quiet village atmosphere. The whole place was decorated with lights and after dark it was magical. All staff members we encountered were terrific, ready to go out of their way to...

The resort has all of the right things to entertain a group the size of ours. Our ages were new born to 90 yrs. The problem was that a wedding had been there the night before and another large corporate group. The croquet set was broken. Most of the food at the Woodland Grill was not available and the service...

This is a lovely resort. Quaint, quiet, and beautiful. I recommend renting a golf cart and just driving around the resort grounds to see all the beauty! Great golf course if you enjoy golfing. The restaurants were nice but we really enjoyed the one that was a little more casual and less stuffy than the upscale one. Wish we had...

I like Barnsley and have stayed there a few times for business retreats. It's a great setting with lots to do. The grounds are well maintained and the rooms are nice. The place has charm. The food is good but not great. I plan to go back in the future.

Guess we picked a bad time to go to Barnsley Gardens and thought others should know that from Sunday after 5 pm through Friday night, there is only one dining option for all meals...the Woodlands Grill. And restaurants in Adairsville historic district were closed too. So, we didn't get to enjoy the Rice House or the Beer Garden. Other surprise...
