The hotel seems to be well maintained & is historically charming. We spent 1 night & after a long drive we welcomed a good nights sleep. We enjoyed the pub food & drinks out in the front of the inn. It seemed quite busy with visitors & locals enjoying a nice night of happy hour.

This is a quaint well kept Inn in the old Florida town of Apalachicola. The rooms are clean and comfortable with nice amenities. There is a restaurant and bar where you meet and chat with locals. There is a lobby and big wraparound front porch you can sit and people watch the busy little town of Apalach. Enjoy !

As a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Humanities Council we seek out properties that have been restored to their former grandeur as places to stay when we travel the state. The Gibson Inn has been a life long work by the owners to keep the Inn alive in a fashion that welcomes modern day travelers. Friendly staff,...

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. I travel with cold packs for my rotator cuff and they need to be in a freezer for several hours before use. Rooms in the Gibson Inn don't have freezers. I was able to use the maintenance freezer for my cold packs. The bar mixologists in Gibson's historic bar are wonderful! Unique excellent...

Recently stayed at the Gibson Inn for 3 nights. The staff were super friendly and helpful.. The hotel is quaint, in an excellent location both to walk to the great restaurants in Apalachicola and for the bridge to get to the surrounding area. Parking is plentiful all round the building. This beautiful historic building was really well maintained, the room...

Tonight we dined at the Gibson Inn. We did not stay at the Inn. We were seated at our request on the outside veranda of the Inn with our friends from Colorado. The hostess was very gracious and allowed us to pick the table our choice. Our waiter was friendly and explained the special of the evening and the menu....

Stopped in for one night on my way through the panhandle. The inn had old school charm with a nice bar area and helpful staff. There was street parking in front of hotel. There are many small eateries within walking distance. The rooms are small and the window air conditioner was noisy. The walls are thin and you can hear...

This was our second time staying here, and it was an even better experience! The people are always so nice, and the rooms are great for such an old inn. Plus, it's a great location for staying in town, or driving over to St. George for the day. No complaints, and would definitely recommend!

Great location, very central to town. Love the feel of the place, bar was super with very friendly staff. Slept in the biggest bed - had to have steps to get up to it. Staff were very helpful. Loved sitting outside on the porch having a drink.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Gibson Inn is a fine example of Florida "Cracker" Architecture. This was the style of wood frame structure used widely in the 19th and early 20th century in Florida. These homes and businesses are characterized by metal roofs, raised floors, high ceilings, center hallways, and large wrap around porches. A widows walk and cupola crown the tin roof, all a reflection of the area's steamboat past. Built in 1907 of native heart pine and black cypress, the inn soon became known as a first class luxury hotel and was the only one between Pensacola and Jacksonville heated entirely by steam. Now listed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places. Many of the 30 guest rooms are uniquely appointed with authentic antique furnishings, cable TV, telephone, and wireless internet. Each guest room has its own full private bath. ... more   less
