Went down to Apalachicola to cover Hurricane Michael -- and my crew and I ended up booked at the Apalachicola River Inn. The staff took care of us like we were their own family in a crazy situation. Dena was communicative from the get-go, super helpful, and went above and beyond the call of duty. I was so sad to see both the hotel and Boss Oyster were damaged by the hurricane -- but when they reopen, I hope anyone who's paying a visit to the area stays for a night or two at this place. It's a cute hotel with a great view of the river, and centrally located to anything and everything this town has to offer. Like I said -- the staff is beyond helpful, and you will feel right at home your entire stay.

Beautiful views from each room. Rooms are comfortable and clean. They are redoing several and updating. Always great staff ready to help you out. The restaurant has the best breakfast anywhere. Love their shrimp and grits. Inn guests get a discount coupon for each days breakfast. This is a great place to sit back and relax. Hurry is a forgotten word on this coast.

Dear denise, Thanks so much for your kind review. Sit back and relax, we are busy in the kitchen after 6:30 a.m. The coffee is being freshly ground the delicious bacon we have served for years is in the oven you can smell it in the new morning dawn on the river. The gulls are laughing, the pelicans are diving, the shrimp boats are sailing in the bay, or, thru the cut to the gulf of Mexico. See a manatee, see the dolphins with their young diving and returning to the surface seeking a bait fish breakfast. Breakfast starts at 7:00am piping hot coffee when ready after 6:30. Grab your complimentary cup and sit on your balcony while you greet the new morning. Thanks for the compliment on our rooms thanks for noticing we are updating we are happy and honored you are here. Hurry back Sweet Caroline.

I have stayed here three times in the past four years, most recently this weekend. You are paying for the view and the location. The front counter workers are always very friendly. The rooms are large enough, with the usual amenities. Most importantly, the air conditioners have worked well on each trip. The river view is nicer from the room than from the dock. With everyone's AC pumping out moist hot air, it is loud and miserable to sit just outside the room. The lower dock is better but sit loud. Apalachicola is a small town, so this location is perfect for walking to shopping and food. There is no wear legal to park your boat, but Boss Oyster next door does have a docking area. The Gibson Inn is nicer, but much more costly. Given the choices, I will use River Inn in my future trips to Apalachicola. I am not sure why this is listed as a bed and breakfast. Carolines is next door, but is a separate entitiy.
