The hotel is conveniently located just about 5+ minutes from downtown Aspen, which makes a good base to visit this area. The exterior looks somewhat depressing, especially in the back where the parking area is. Inside there is lots of work going on right now, apparently some renovation on many of the rooms so there are construction materials in the hallways & everywhere, certainly not a sight to behold. Our room (#2267) is clean and reasonably pleasant, except for the bathroom sink and the way it is built that makes it hard to wash hands without splashing water everywhere. Staff could not care less who comes and goes, particularly a proper greeting when you try to check in. There is a BBQ restaurant on site, so the smell of BBQ is everywhere in the building. We did have a quick bite at the restaurant on site, which appears to be well run. Not sure about high season here but a visit during this time (off ski season) did not leave much of a lasting positive impression. The location & price are relatively good value for this expensive area.

This is a family vacation property. Its excellent for ski trip. Not luxurious, but clean with great staff, From the airport shuttle, to check-in to multiple shuttles during my stay, all staff was friendly and accomodating. Relatively affordable spot only 1 mile from downtown Aspen with free convenient shuttle system. I would recommend for simple fun family trip when youre not looking for luxury… but a nice simple vibe.

We had a fantastic trip and plan to make this hotel our regular place! The location is perfect for skiing at Buttermilk. 5 steps and you’re at the lift. The lobby is beautiful, great x-games feel, and a comfortable place to hang out. Lori at the front desk when we checked in was outstanding. She made sure we knew where our ski lockers were and coffee/tea in the morning, that we had enough robes in the room, and that we knew the best exit for the slopes. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome!!

We arrived in the Aspen area late at night thinking we had booked a location at Snowmass, only to find out we were at Buttermilk. I was traveling with my three kids, so you can’t imagine being at the wrong location more than threw us for a loop. But it turned out amazing. But it turned out to be a great experience. The lobby is beautiful and looks out to the mountain which is literally steps away. The beds were super comfortable and plush. And it was super easy to ski Buttermilk with the kids. The Inn is literally at the base of the mountain. You walk out the lobby and can pick up your rentals and get in line to the lifts. It was a perfect mountain to ski day one with the kids. And the staff was AMAZING helping me try to figure things out so we could eventually get to Snowmass. I HIGHLY recommend even if you don’t a short stay here before going to one of the larger mountains. It’s super close to the airport as well and if you rent feom Four Mountain sports they can transfer your skis overnight to one of the other ski resorts. Thank you Inn at Aspen for making our unexpected predicament a great adventure.

This place is not renovated and both the pool and hot tub don't work. The pool hasn't worked for awhile, but if still front and center in their advertising. Spend a little more money and stay in aspen or snowmass. This is a cheap motel at best on the side of the highway.

We stayed at the Inn at Aspen in 2018 and 2019 and were relatively happy - we found it overpriced for the amenities, but the location is perfect if you have kids in ski school, and it's not like one looks for a bargain in Aspen. While I had some complaints (the pillows are awful, the noise bleed it a problem, the fire alarm kept going off in the middle of the night), it was never enough to write a review about. We returned this year, Decembre 2021, to find a much diminished expereince. While of course we are sympathetic to staffing challenges due to the pandemic, this was above and beyond. The front desk was often empty, most days breakfast was down to two items (and the hours were limited), the coffee machine in the hallway was broken 4/7 days, housekeeping was by request only (but no one told you this unless you asked), the hot tub had cold water coming out of three of the spigots, the shuttle required a 30 minute wait (and then was driven by a man not wearing a mask who asked for a tip), and the fire pit was never on. But that's all small potatoes, and we could likely have chalked it up to the price of pandemic travel. The part that is unforgivable, however, is how *no one* followed the mask mandate. Staff usually had masks under their noses. Housekeeping staff never wore masks. The lobby was always full of unmasked skiers, and no one reminded them to wear masks. I mentioned this to the manager and he said "you can't expect us to do more than we are already doing". All they were doing was providing some small signs, so yes, I think I can ask for more...? My sister asked another time when we were waiting for to-go food in the lobby and he again claimed they were doing everything they could - but during the conversation 4 groups of unmasked or semi-masked people walked into the lobby and sat down without anyone saying anything. This was all in the week omicron took over, when covid rates in Aspen and elsewhere were spiking. Indeed, we learned the reason breakfast was so limited was a staff member out because of the virus.

Unit: 1108. Clean and mostly remodeled, few dings: bedskirting must go: leads to tripping and looks shabby. Carpet looks kinda stained. One bowl and one spoon in cubbard. Beds quite soft but good. No fan in bathroom. But: Beautiful few to lift and runs behind pool. Close to Maroon Bells. $170 base fee

We recently spent 2 nights here. The good: complimentary on demand shuttle to Aspen Highlands, where we were able to catch the bus to Maroon Bells. I didn't get the driver/front desk person's name, but she was wonderful! Very friendly and helpful. There is a very nice coin operated laundry room for guest use. When I requested decaf coffee packets for the coffee maker, they were brought immediately. (Be aware- the coffee maker uses special rectangular coffee packets from Starbucks- your own coffee will not work) The not-so-good: Check in was difficult- the wide open restaurant/bar is across from the check-in desk. There are plexiglass screens (a good thing!) at the desk, but because of the loud bar area, we could barely hear the person at the desk. The place is very dated. The carpet in our room was badly stained, and dirty. The glass top bedside table had not been cleaned- it was greasy and had dirty residue of something on it. The entrance we were directed to was around the back of the building, with a large bucket for the cigarette smokers to use right by the door. We had to walk thru a smoky area to enter the building. We enjoyed the area, but not sure we would stay here again.

I'll start with the fake outlet decals in the room and end with the bed that leans toward the headboard. Upon arrival, we were anxious to get our electronics plugged in and charged, but discovered that at least three of what looked like outlets were decals stuck on the wall!! This was followed by pricey snacks (aka dinner) at the Inn's barbeque restaurant. My husband ordered brisket sliders and a side of $9.00 tater tots! My daughter and I ordered tacos that consisted of more corn tortilla than filling and not even a garnish on the plate. Without ordering drinks, we spent about $45 and smelled like barbeque but went to bed feeling hungry. Speaking of beds, my husband and I sunk 3-4 nches or more into the mattress and our heads were at an incline even with pillows underneath. It was so bad, we got up in the middle of the night to turn the mattress around, but it didn't help. I would strongly recommend to the owners of 1108 to buy some new mattresses!! Sleeping on a lawn chair would have been more comfortable. Sadly, despite this being our first venture out in 16 months we did not wake up feeling like this was a good start to a much needed vacation for $300 a night.

The Inn at Aspen is fantastic. We stay at this hotel each year for my daughter’s half pipe ski completions and absolutely love the location, service and rooms. Each of the rooms seem to be privately owned, and we got a terrific room this year. (Actually stayed at the Inn twice this year!) First floor, facing the mountain. Great mini kitchen (microwave and fridge) and super cute interior. Beds are comfy and I could literally watch the ski event from my patio. I drove up from Denver and arrived a few hours early - front desk was amazing. They had my room ready and let me check in early. Also, had a late check out due to the ski event running late. Every time we stay at the Inn, the staff is super accommodating. Restaurant is great overall, just a good vibe! Shuttle service to Aspen is fantastic! We’ve stayed at several hotels in Aspen over the years and the Inn is by far our favorite.
