We love staying at the Inn at Aspen. There is a shuttle service from the airport to downtown, so you don't need a car to get around and you can take the public transport if you wish to go to Snowmass. Also, a restaurant and laundry machines on site.
Our kids took their first ski lessons on Buttermilk Mountain and it’s great to have a ski in/out access. Unit 1171 has been recently renovated as well.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel is simply great. The people are friendly and always make sure to assist promptly. The Buttermilk mountain is the snow garden at the back door of the hotel. The transportation service is great and at disposal at the lobby desk. The bar inside The Home Team BBQ is a nice place to enjoy a wine and the view of the mountain.

The location is fantastic, right at the base of Buttermilk. The renovated rooms are nice and spacious but I wish the renovations had been fully completed. The carpets desperately need to be replaced and the mattresses are not high quality. My hairdryer was formerly a wall-mount that had been removed from the wall and just placed in the bathroom for future guest use. That was challenging to say the least because the housing would drag around as you used the dryer and it smacked me in the head a couple of times. How cheap to not replace the hairdryer. There is also no safe in the room for valuables.
We really enjoyed the BBQ restaurant on site and liked the self-parking versus dealing with valet when you stay in Aspen proper. Aspen is about a 5 minute drive away and easy to get to for meals and shopping and the hotel also offers a free shuttle.
They have ski lockers for each room which was very nice versus checking our skis and then waiting to pick them up in the morning. There was morning coffee set up via machines but the quality was pretty bad. I was desperate for a good cappuccino in the morning and would have loved a true coffee shop or bar.
We enjoyed this hotel for the right price but sleep comfort definitely suffered on that mattress and I was afraid to walk around barefoot on the filthy carpets.

We booked a reservation directly with this hotel. They require you to pay for the entire bill in advance of your visit, but do not tell you this when you make the reservation. So, after they billed our card for 1/2 the cost of the reservation, we called to ask if we should expect a notice regarding the second payment, they said no, if you want the room, you have a decision to make, you need to contact them and pay the second half of the entire bill 30 days before the date of your reservation, or your reservation is automatically cancelled. This is non refundable.
The confirmation letter we received from them the day we booked the reservations said:
"A deposit of 50% is required to confirm your reservation outside of 7 days. 7 days from your arrival, you will be charged the remaining 50% of your stay. If you book within 7 days of arrival, 100% of your stay will be charged".
We wondered is it 30 days or 7 days in advance of the visit, would they charge to the card or would we have to remember to contact them 30 days or 7 days before. When I pointed out to Marty at the reservation desk that the verbiage on the confirmation email we were sent right after the reservation was made was completely different than what he was saying, he became combative and rude and said:
"well that's the policy, if you don't like it take it up with the general manager"
This is capacity management gone entirely wrong, and behavior that is rude and deceptive. We cancelled the reservation knowing that the hotel service and integrity was not likely to improve if this was their behavior when we had questions regarding our reservation.

Hello, I would like to apologize for the issues you experienced while making your booking. It is not acceptable to have an unclear reservation process with our front desk team and we will use this opportunity for training with them. Please note that we require a 50% payment at the time of booking, and the remaining 50% will be charged 7 days prior to your arrival in the spring, summer, and fall seasons, and 30 days prior to your arrival in the ski season. If your reservation is made within the cancellation period, full payment will be required at the time of booking. I hope we have the opportunity to host you at the Inn. Please call me directly, and I will assist you with your reservation personally.

We were very disappointed with The Inn at Aspen. We were only there for 1 night and we would not have wanted to stay more.
If the cost had been in the $100 - $200 range it would have been acceptable but at over $500 for the night (off season) it was far less than it should have been.
The room was clean but severely damaged. The desk had a major gouge taken out of it. The clock was not working at all. The bathroom door was also damaged.
The pillows were not comfortable at all. The closet has a curtain as a door.
Bathroom was small but adequate (again not what you should get for this price point)
The pool and hot tub were closed for work with a horrible chain link fence around the area. Off season in the heat - the pool would have been very nice but no.
Our outdoor "patio" had a small table and no chairs.
There was 1 chair in the room and it was a ballroom chair.
Minimal coffee set up - no tea.
We understand that it is Aspen and prices are outrageous but we would have stayed at something else if we had known this was what we would be getting.

Yes, you can literally just ski out of your room. We loved everything about this hotel, especially the location, the rustic charm, friendliness of staff, proximity to the airport. Beautiful cross-country paths, too. What I really appreciated was the coffee/ tea maker at the lobby, wish it would operate 24/7 and with reusable cups. Would love to return soon!

I'll start with the fake outlet decals in the room and end with the bed that leans toward the headboard. Upon arrival, we were anxious to get our electronics plugged in and charged, but discovered that at least three of what looked like outlets were decals stuck on the wall!! This was followed by pricey snacks (aka dinner) at the Inn's barbeque restaurant. My husband ordered brisket sliders and a side of $9.00 tater tots! My daughter and I ordered tacos that consisted of more corn tortilla than filling and not even a garnish on the plate. Without ordering drinks, we spent about $45 and smelled like barbeque but went to bed feeling hungry. Speaking of beds, my husband and I sunk 3-4 nches or more into the mattress and our heads were at an incline even with pillows underneath. It was so bad, we got up in the middle of the night to turn the mattress around, but it didn't help. I would strongly recommend to the owners of 1108 to buy some new mattresses!! Sleeping on a lawn chair would have been more comfortable. Sadly, despite this being our first venture out in 16 months we did not wake up feeling like this was a good start to a much needed vacation for $300 a night.

We arrived in the Aspen area late at night thinking we had booked a location at Snowmass, only to find out we were at Buttermilk.
I was traveling with my three kids, so you can’t imagine being at the wrong location more than threw us for a loop. But it turned out amazing.
But it turned out to be a great experience.
The lobby is beautiful and looks out to the mountain which is literally steps away.
The beds were super comfortable and plush. And it was super easy to ski Buttermilk with the kids. The Inn is literally at the base of the mountain. You walk out the lobby and can pick up your rentals and get in line to the lifts. It was a perfect mountain to ski day one with the kids.
And the staff was AMAZING helping me try to figure things out so we could eventually get to Snowmass.
I HIGHLY recommend even if you don’t a short stay here before going to one of the larger mountains. It’s super close to the airport as well and if you rent feom Four Mountain sports they can transfer your skis overnight to one of the other ski resorts.
Thank you Inn at Aspen for making our unexpected predicament a great adventure.

Rooms are terribly outdated. Floor was dirty and stained. We were afraid to take our socks off. Bathroom feels like a motel. Seems like some reviews state that their rooms were renovated. Ours wasn’t. Best part of the hotel is the location to ski at buttermilk - it’s literally at the ski lift. If the carpet and bathrooms were updated it would be an okay resort.

The hotel is conveniently located just about 5+ minutes from downtown Aspen, which makes a good base to visit this area. The exterior looks somewhat depressing, especially in the back where the parking area is. Inside there is lots of work going on right now, apparently some renovation on many of the rooms so there are construction materials in the hallways & everywhere, certainly not a sight to behold. Our room (#2267) is clean and reasonably pleasant, except for the bathroom sink and the way it is built that makes it hard to wash hands without splashing water everywhere. Staff could not care less who comes and goes, particularly a proper greeting when you try to check in. There is a BBQ restaurant on site, so the smell of BBQ is everywhere in the building. We did have a quick bite at the restaurant on site, which appears to be well run. Not sure about high season here but a visit during this time (off ski season) did not leave much of a lasting positive impression. The location & price are relatively good value for this expensive area.

Yes , they will store luggage.
That is the perfect hotel for ski in and ski out and the ski rental place is about 20-30 steps from the door. The hotel has individual lockers to store skis and poles so they aren’t in your room.
You would need to call the hotel. We didn’t have a connecting room.
Hello, yes we will accept packages for guests with no charge, but we do not accept the liability for said packages.
Yes, we do! Currently our public laundry room is out of order, but while it is out of order we will wash and dry clothes for you, complimentary.
