I have stayed at many W hotels and they never seem to disappoint, for sure they delivered at the W in Aspen. The hotel offers completely rides to/from the airport and throughout town in a few nice BMW X5’s. We never had to wait long for a ride anywhere. The hotel was over sold and we tried to get an upgrade with no luck and we’re concerned about the roll from a few other reviews. They were wrong, we had the room with 2 queens and one was elevated. This set up made the roll feel more spacious. The room itself had modern decor, plenty of storage in the closets and the signature heavenly W beds. There is a nice Lavazza coffee machine in the closet and they have a small refrigerator if you need it. Some reviews complained of lack of space, I was traveling with a friend and we had plenty of room for all of our stuff. They have a DJ every afternoon in the bar on the second floor. This place was not busy during the week, it seems like only on Fridays and Saturday’s, but on those days it was a good crowd for Apres ski. We did eat here and the burger and Mahi was solid. They also have a good breakfast. On the roof they have a good sized hot tub and heated pool. There is a heated towel cabinet but no where to really put your stuff so you have to run from the bar where you dropped your stuff to the tub. The tub faces the mountains and you get a great view on a clear night. The bar is closed in the winter but I would suspect it’s a cool spot in the warmer months. The location is also great. If your skiing Ajax there is a small path you can take and walk right to the gondola. Across the street there is a market and pharmacy, you can also walk just about anywhere from here. The W delivers in all the right places! Next time I’m in Aspen I will be returning…
This hotel tries to be hip and modern at the expense of practicality. Our room was a 2 bed queen with the beds configured in a bunk bed type arrangement. The TV was on a pole at the end of one of the beds. This arrangement put one person next to the wall, and when they needed out of bed, they had to crawl over the other person. Anyone with claustrophobia would be very stressed in this situation. I’m sure the poor housekeeping staff hates this arrangement. The lights in the room, again while trying to be cutting edge, were not user friendly. The lounge/restaurant area was nice, but apparently they couldn’t decide if it should be a club or a restaurant/bar. There was a dj that arrived around 5:00 p.m. and began playing very, very loud music until maybe 7:00-8:00. There is not a dance floor. This was very confusing and not a relaxing, comfortable vibe at all. Why wasn’t the dj there at 10:00 p.m. rather than late afternoon? The hot tub/pool area is on the roof and nice very. The workout facility was also very nice. The staff was also nice and friendly. All in all I would not recommend this property. If you are looking for a nice, relaxing stay, this is not your place.…
We were charged exorbitant prices (much higher than pre-pandemic) but given very poor customer service. We understand the pandemic has created staff shortages and other challenges, and we are ok when we are asked by businesses to adjust our expectations and be flexible. But it's not ok for businesses to hike up prices because demand is so high at the moment and offer such poor customer service. Front desk, concierge, room service... it was all a joke! Your rates need to match the level of service provided! We have stayed at many W and other top Marriott properties around the world... This location is great and we loved the rooftop pool overlooking the mountain, but unfortunately, service was very disappointing.
Overall, some great aspects to this hotel, location is perfect for access to the slopes. Use the side access to get to the gondola and skip the lines. Hot tub and pool were also very nice as was the food. The rooms were spacious and beds comfortable. “Concierge” was very disappointing. They said they would help with restaurant recommendations and reservations. Three weeks later they responded to our email with a random credit card authorization form with no context and still no help with reservations. Most of the bell staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. One in particular was very helpful in helping us find our lost luggage. Unfortunately, our flights out of Aspen were canceled. The bell staff offered to help find a car service to Denver airport. Two hours later we circled back with them after not hearing anything and were told there was nothing available. Thankfully, we called on our own and immediately were able to find two car services able to take us to Denver. The front desk staff did their best to accommodate us for an additional night. Overall, very nice hotel but failed on their follow-ups.…
Booked a 3 night stay using a ton of Marriott Bonvoy points . Before I even arrived I got a text message from Amex that my card was charged $1017 by the W Aspen. Very surprising since my reservation was made using points. The next morning another 2 charges hit my card totaling $1600 . Obviously the reservation wasn't set up properly , and the hotel was billing me for the room as a cash stay . The room itself was very uncomfortable. It was small ,dark , and had a bathroom that was not segregated . It was open to the room itself. No door. Even worse, the toilet was behind a glass partition that didn't go totally to the floor . Sort of like in a airport or office building public bathroom .So whoever else is in the room with u can hear every bodily function if u know what I mean . The toiletries in the shower are in cheap plastic squeeze bottles , and are of lowest quality . Blasting music on Friday night in the lounge, with DJ, as loud as the biggest nightclubs in the world. Could hear it in the room . Only good part about the stay was the hotel car that was always available to take us to lunch or dinner in town . Service at the restaurant for breakfast was atrocious - tables were left uncleared for a long while . See photos.…
We ate at the Living room lounge/bar. The food was delicious and we loved the service. Jeet and Andrei were great. We had a very lively last evening at this longe. Decor, food, music and service made it for a really nice experience. Also check out the patio with the huge fire pit, great for gathering with friends or to have a cocktail.
We loved this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The front desk was superior. Rose upon arrival was an exceptional touch. The valet and doormen were awesome and personable. The rooftop is brilliant. The restaurant and bar team were friendly and professional. There are no two ways about it - a great five star experience. Thank you to the entire team.
Nice hotel, clean comfortable beds. Excellent service. Decent food in the restaurant. Good value for Aspen. You can walk to almost anywhere. Drink lots of water to avoid dehydration. Great Bonvoy property.
I traveled to Aspen with my very high energy 4 year old. The highlight of our stay was the staff - they were wonderful. The guys out at the Wheels desk were my kids favorite by far - every time we came in our out of the hotel they were so friendly and always engaged him in conversation. Traveling with a 4 year old means early mornings at the pool and the pool staff at 8am was so nice and accommodating as well. Room service was great, the wet deck was great (the guests who did not mind my annoying child kicking and splashing and talking non stop were great), and the check-in process was seamless. We really appreciated the rides to and from the airport and to our hiking spots. We stayed the summer before and we were in a basement room and it was not awesome and we left early. This time we did pay more for a better room and it was worth every penny.…
Beautiful hotel, with great employees, and even better atmosphere, perfect place to stay in Aspen. I would like to thank all employees from front office, and all bartenders from the hotel's living room (dining area). Also, special thanks to Mr. Juan Carlos, and pastry chef Miss Lynnsey - my husband and I renewed our vows during our stay, Mr. Carlos managed to put whole ceremony together in two days, handled the flowers, makeup, hair, photographer (which at the end we decided to have him - and it was match made in heaven), dining options, and everything else what needed to be done, while Miss Lynnsey made the most special most beautiful cake decorated with my favorite flowers - purple hydrangeas. I would also like to add that Mr. Juan should be promoted into event coordinator. Also, special thanks to all young men who worked very hard on driving us around all the time. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Thank you W family, hope to visit you soon.…
