Rainbow Trout Ranch goes well beyond beyond the average dude ranch vacation. The meals are top notch - homemade, one of a kind recipes and smiling, happy service. The teen and kid programs are fun and very interactive. My brother and I were part of the teen program, and we had a blast. Our counselor was awesome, we played lots...

Growing up in the midwest, when we would drive past livestock and 'that odor' would filter into the car, my father would say, "That's the smell of money." A similar scent mixes with pine in the crisp mountain air at The Rainbow Trout Ranch. Our family just spent a week at this magical place. The ranch is owned/operated by the...

It's only been a couple days since we left the Rainbow Trout Ranch, but we already miss it greatly. We were a large family group of 15 that mostly road horses but also did a fair bit of hiking and fishing as well. The food was fantastic and the cabins were wonderful as well. The main event is definitely the...

RTR was our first dude ranch experience and the best family trip we have ever taken. The riding program was superb. The scenery is some of the best in Colorado. The owners and staff are wonderful. We also enjoyed the evening events in the lodge and the meals. We are booked to return again this year!

Our week at the ranch is my favorite family trip we've ever taken, and the only one that ever felt completely like a vacation. The ranch, the cabins, the staff, the horses, the trails, the food, the other adventures in archery and fishing and rafting - everything was amazing. We were each able to stay as busy or carefree as...

My wife and I will return to RTR in the summer of 2016, for the 10th year in a row. We have developed friendships and great memories over the years. We will continue as long as we can get a leg over a horse. The service received from staff and wranglers is second to none, all the way from the...

My first trip like this and just loved it. Every one of the staff went out of their way to make guests feel welcome and provide a wonderful experience no matter what the activity. Stayed in a log cabin, had excellent meals, exciting trail rides and unbelievable scenery. Even tried skeet shooting and archery! Went with a friend during "adults...

As I said in a previous review of RTR, we NEVER go back anywhere twice - and yet this year saw us back at RTR for a third time! Since it is fairly expensive, long and difficult for us to get to Southern Colorado from the UK, I think this says it all. It is just a special place. I...

We returned to RTR after a 10 year hiatus. What were we thinking, waiting so long! This time it was just husband and I for a September Adults week. It could not have been better. The extremely high level of care to every aspect of the dude ranch experience has remained unchanged. The Van Berkum family has a gift for...
