Its all about location. A fantastic setting situated on the Taylor River. Plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy young and old. Visit their website for details. Our family enjoyed many an hour atop a horse and then off to the pool for play time and a good soak in the hot tub. Connectivity-WiFi available in the dinning and rec room...

Rustic cabin #17 had three bedrooms and two baths. Having the Taylor River just steps from the front door was great for the fishermen in the family. Excellent catch and release fishing! Horseback riding available for the kids. We chose the plan that included the full breakfast each morning. The high season prices are a little steep.

We had planned on staying 2 nights, but when we arrived and looked inside our cabin I went back and cancelled our second night. To the credit of the staff, they refunded my second nights payment without any argument or problem. My wife loves "retro" and "vintage", but this was old and sketchy! While we didn't stay long enough to...

Hello Jay, Thank you for taking time to post a review. While it's not the raving review we love - it does help us remedy some of our faults. We always appreciate the input. Cabin 8 is one of our older cabins and we have not had the time we would like to give it a good update. Since then...

We stayed here for 2 nights with our teenager and 1 year old and were so disappointed. We stayed in cabin #2. The room was not ready when we arrived 2 hours after check in time. Once we got in room, it was so old and dirty. There were cobwebs, old coffee in the coffee pot, hair wads on the...

Hello Paige W - Thank you for taking time to post a review. While it's not the raving review we love - it does help us remedy some of our faults. We always appreciate the input. Cabin #2 was built in 1891 and although it has been remodeled numerous times over the years, we haven't been in there in a...

Harmel's has a great atmosphere here. Lots of good family fun to be had and especially if you love horses! The staff is friendly and the fishing guides really know their stuff. The men in the family love to flyfish and you can walk out the door of your cabin and throw a line in the water 50 feet away....

What a fantastic place to have Father's Day dinner. The view is great and the meal is fantastic! The Taylor River is almost at our table. I've never seen it so high. It's actually over the banks in places & the rocks you normally see are under water.

After a lovely morning horseback riding, pony rides and visiting the petting zoo with another family we walked across to eat our packed lunch in the green area at Harmel's. The kids enjoyed playing while we ate until a staff member came out yelling at my children, yelling at me and then threw a water bottle at us and told...

Hello Kdods - I apologize for the way you feel this was handled. We have spoken with the employee you're referring to so we could assess the situation. We've had numerous problems with children damming up the irrigation ditches this spring and causing floods that result in damage to property (both ours and other home owners in the area). Our...

Harmels has a great lunch buffet option of you are as hungry as I am sometimes. You can also order off the menu if a buffet isn't your style. It doesn't get much better than eating lunch sitting next to the Taylor river

What a great trip for a group of friends and family. We reserved 5 cabins for 3 nights in Almont at Harmel's Ranch Resort. We had kids, dogs and adults who love to fish, everyone enjoyed the accommodations, breakfast at the lodge, horseback riding. We had a campfire at night, roasted marshmallows, and stayed up late to enjoy every moment....

Traveling with 15 family members, we were trying to find a place that would be fun for different ages and activity levels. Harmel's is just that place! (Age range 14-80) Some fished and rode horses, a few went mountain biking and zip lining in nearby Crested Butte, we all went whitewater rafting and on a family wilderness horseback ride. Having...
