The outside of the place looks nice. The inside is dated. Needs to be updated and cleaned. The room was spacious, looking forward to getting some rest. The bathroom had mold bleeding through the paint (wallpaper?) on the ceiling and on the wall behind the toilet. It smelled of mildew. The breakfast room had a dead plant with a vine...

Hotel was clean, beds comfortable, staff friendly. My complaint is WiFi is not available in all rooms, only the ones close to office. Could not use smart phone or laptop unless I went to lobby. I was upset with this. Wanted to change rooms but had to wait until next day because housekeeping staff had left for day. Was unable...

This was by far the worst motel I've stayed at, couldn't breathe the next morning due to the mold musky smell, the bathroom stunk, I was supposed to stay 8 nights but I couldn't take it anymore and moved elsewhere, my room didn't get cleaned two other the three nights I stayed, front desk had no idea about the "Hello...

I booked the Red Lion for a 3 night stay during a 4 day charity bike ride. The rate was very reasonable so I wasn't expecting much. The hotel was awesome. The front desk staff were friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. I tend to be a hotel snob and was bracing myself for a so-so experience, but was...

When I arrived I received my key card and carried my bag up the stairs to the second floor (strike one). Upon opening the door I was shocked to see to people in the room with their life spread out before them (strike two). After a meeting at the with the desk clerk I was given a lesser priced room...

Nice newish room - usual amenities- coffee, fridge, microwave, but we got ZERO sleep. Needed early sleep for 4:30 wake up. 8:30 PM someone on next door property was using a gas powered leaf blower for over an hour (what is that about?) Some kind of generator type engine noise nearby went on all night. Loud outdoor dog just across...

I read the reviews, noted recent renovation & decided to give the Red Lion in Auburn a try. We were tired & really didn't want to drive any further last night. We stayed in #247 for one night, 04/16/16. My husband booked the room directly with RL from the restaurant around the corner while we waited for our bill. Ten...

I think that some of the older reviews about this hotel must be from before a renovation and change of ownership. I stayed here this past weekend. Our room was in very good condition, the beds were comfortable and our room had a microwave and refrigerator. While we didn't use the spa or pool, we did take a look and...

This is not a vacation destination motel, but for a one or two night stay the room was super clean, very good size with a great bed AND breakfast at a better price then anything else in the area. Located right off Highway 80, it was surprisingly quiet.

This Red Lion Inn is conveniently located, right off the I-80 in Auburn, CA. Before going "over the hill", as the locals call driving Donner Summit, you may want to rest up and spend the night. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortably outfitted with all the equipment you might need, including double USB charging ports at both nightstands. Complementary breakfast...
