Primary restaurant was closed down which was an inconvenience however there was a very good brew pub down the street. Parking was across the street and therefore guests felt it appropriate to park in the guest loading zone, typical "California Mindset". Very nice city park 2-3 blocks away to walk the dog. The room and small lobby area were nice.

The Carlton is a gem for those travelling around California by car. Nice historic setting, spacious quite room with Jacuzzi bath, Wi-Fi Internet available throughout the building, large – though a bit too soft – bad, nice bakery next door. Finally, the night we stayed at The Carlton, it had only a few guests and kind front desk staff member...

The Good... a quaint hotel that brings a great first impression. The grandiose and artistic lobby area with its old fashion feel made us feel like we ve gone back in time. The room was clean and kept to normal standards. And the area was quiet. The bad... no room service. The gym was small, and hot with a cycle...

The Carlton Hotel is a beautifully renovated and quaint hotel with a gorgeous grand entrance. The room we stayed in was very large with a great view of the town. The bathroom is also quite large and decorated beautifully. On top of everything, the staff is very kind, helpful, and accommodating. There are restaurants, bars, wine tasting rooms, etc. all...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautifully restored historic hotel. The very friendly front desk woman (I wish I had her name) upgraded us to a large corner room with a huge luxurious bathroom for an extremely reasonable rate. -- wonderfully comfortable bed with nice bedding -- coffee/tea bar in room with nice selection -- fantastic bathroom with a...

The Carlton Hotel is perfectly situated just off the 101 in the sleepy, central coast town of Atascadero. A historic building from the early 20th century, the Carlton was remodeled about a decade ago and a third floor was added. The remodel made the place pure luxe with bathrooms to die for.

Very clean and professional staff. Would stay again. Parking available across the street with no valet assistance which is usually not an issue but it was raining and would have been nice to have assistance or at least an option given the weather situation.

Great hotel, excellent accommodations and friendly staff. There is a breakfast bakery on site and a great casual eating spot two doors down ( Streetside Sports Bar) and they are dog friendly. We travel this route at least twice a year and we have tried other hotels but now this us the only one.

I stayed at The Carlton while making a road trip from LA to San Francisco with my small dog. The hotel is right off the 101 freeway and is located in a charming downtown area. The bakery next door was delicious and we found places to go within walking distance which made it a great place to stop for the...
