We stayed at this hotel on our way through CA. What a mistake! Homeless people out in the square, we were apprehensive about leaving our car out there all night for fear of a break-in. Drunks on the sidewalk due to the dive bars along the street. I was trying to be positive, but our room was no better. Clerk... More

Hotel Arcata is a vintage hotel in an excellent location. It overlooks the square in Arcata. It has great rooms and the staff are very friendly. It does get very noisy at night due to the bars and the square being right there. I would recommend this Hotel to anybody visiting Arcata.

I didn't review this hotel before we booked it because it's an old Hotel right down in the center of Arcata. So knowing this is an old place I was willing to overlook some things. We liked the fact that the Sushi restaurant is right in the building and we ate there that evening. When we went up to our... More

I really wanted to stay at this hotel because they have claw foot tubs. What prevented me was the homeless people in the park across the street and the numerous bars with college kids hanging out on the sidewalk next to the hotel. We did not feel that our possessions in our car would be safe. We had been wine... More

Overlooks the square that is the best location in town. Somewhat noisy into the night due to the people staying late in the square. Reception was efficient and pleasant; they were very helpful in pointing out local sights. Price is most reasonable.

The Hotel Arcata is the best place to stay on the Northern California coast. Book well in advance because they fill up, but there's good reason why. The service is always top notch. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. This hotel has character.

We read the reviews before arriving and arrived apprehensive. We were right to be nervous. The plus points were that the towels were lovely, clean and fresh. The lady at check out was very cheery and pleasant. The hotel is well located in the town centre. I'm afraid that's all that I can say positively. The room and hall carpets... More

We started our road trip with the Hotel Arcata and it was a wonderful place to kick it off! Arcata itself is really cute, and this hotel made the vibe of the stay even better! Great old school feel- very vintage feeling! Enjoyed the ball and claw bath tub! We went with the 2 room suite, it was on the... More

They put us in a smoking room so that made it worse but this place was nasty! The beds are so old it's like sleeping on hammock with mushy pillows. It stinks like the carpets are really old and nothing has been really cleaned out of them in the last 20 years. The lobby is nice. The guy working there-not... More
