They were very helpful and pleasant. We stayed two nights in a room with 2 queens and sofa upstairs in the rear part of the motel. No problem with street noise. We appreciated that parking is included unlike most lodging here. The room was spacious and very clean. We could see the fireworks at night from our room. We walked to Cheescake Factory for dinner (yum), and also easily walked to Disneyland from the motel. We will definitely stay here again!
We were pleasantly surprised by the Anaheim Islander. We stayed in a room with 2 queens and a sofa bed. The room really had everything we could have wanted at about half the price of the rooms we usually stay in which are directly across from the entrance to Disneyland. This hotel is right next door to a Disney parking lot with a free shuttle to the park. What could be easier than that? The breakfast is grab and go with a few little snacks and fruit. We usually only stay at hotels that offer a full hot breakfast, but right now, no hotels in this area are doing that anyway. They blame covid restrictions, but that's silly, as restaurant buffets are open now and hotels could serve breakfast, too. We would stay here again.
I highly recommend Anaheim IslanderInn and Suites. We travelled as a family and had such a great time. Very clean rooms, bright and cheerful, modern decor and furnishings , comfy beds , extra bunk bed was an added bonus , awesome heated pool, and staff was so friendly and helpful. Easy 15 min walk to Disneyland. Will definitely book here again. Donna
I recently stayed here for 3 nights with my 2 daughters, one adult and one high schooler, in room 216 (second floor, no elevator). The was my first time staying at this property for a seasoned DL/DCA traveler, and I would not hesitate to stay here again. The proximity to the park was really nice and was an easy walk - especially for my adult daughter with knee issues - and after a long day in the parks. Just a block over to Harbor and then 1.5-2 blocks to DL/DCA entrance (maybe a 15 minute walk at our pace and traffic lights). The area felt very safe and clean, even when returning late at night by ourselves. Walgreens and CVS are right on the corner for first aid (band aids - get them BEFORE you need them. darn blisters) and drinks/snacks, and trinkets, and ect. ABC store near 7-11 on Harbor (on your way to/from the parks) also has Disney items, but we were not able to go there this trip due to their hours. Be sure to grab a late night pizza at The Pizza Press on your way back - get The Chronicle and add chicken - you will thank me later. The motel property is on the smaller side for number of rooms, so no incoming and outgoing traffic or hordes of people in morning/evening, and we never had a parking issue. It is a very peaceful property. Parking spaces seemed slightly larger in comparison to other places we have stayed, so I felt safe with having my rental car sitting there for those days when we were in the parks. The room was actually a larger footprint than I expected. We had 2 queens and a sofa bed. Vinyl plank floors to keep things clean. Microwave and fridge (largest mini fridge I have seen in a motel/hotel), small coffee maker, hairdryer, etc... I was pleased with the cleanliness of the room. Comfortable beds, extra pillows and blankets located in closet. AC/heat was easy to change and window privacy is louvered slats instead of blinds or curtains - which was nice to be able to adjust them to allow some light in - but maintain privacy. Laundry was right next door to our room, but had posted hours to close by 9 PM, so any noise from that was not an issue. We did not use the pool area, but it is at the front of the property. Breakfast was sufficient to get us to the parks (Bananas, packaged muffins, danish, mini loaves, orange juice, coffee and hot chocolate, oatmeal packets and hot water, granola bars). Many properties do not offer any breakfast, so this was a bonus for us. We then supplemented with a later brunch in the parks (FYI - my girls loved the chorizo breakfast burritos at the cart at Pacific Wharf, but they were a tiny bit spicy for me with chunks of jalapeno in there). Check in and check out was very smooth and the person at the desk each time was very pleasant. Only con was that there are people who raced down Katella Ave in the middle of the night (only sounds were from Katella, no issue with other attached rooms). We would not hesitate to stay here again.…
Our room had two bedrooms, perfect for getting our boys (ages 3 and 5) to bed early after a long day of fun. The walk to Disney was quick and easy. There are many restaurants within walking distance. The room was fairly quiet, although you can hear people walking and pulling luggage just outside. Parking was easy, and we were allowed to leave our car here after checkout for a few hours while we finished touring Disney. The front desk staff was excellent. Breakfast was sufficient and quick. I would happily stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay. Our room was perfect, clean and reasonably priced. It is perfectly located and has awesome customer service too. This was our 6th stay and we will be back next December when we visit Disneyland.
We booked the two queen beds and one bunk bed room. When we first walked into the room we passed another room, possibly the laundry room, and the window was open. I smelled a very strong odor similar to propane. We entered our room and our room, too, smelled of propane. Not only that, I was surprised how small the room was because the pictures online make the room look large. It was fine for our small family, but we were cramped while walking around as it's shaped like a corridor. At 6am it sounded like the family above us was going to bust through the floor. I mean you can hear every single step the people above you take. Since we arrived late I dealt with the smell of the propane but it did give me anxiety through the night that my family was breathing it in. In the morning I spoke with Gillip and he was gracious and understanding. He moved us rooms and his staff loved our stuff to our new room while we were at Disneyland, which was very nice. We moved to our new room and decided to take a nap. When I pulled the covers back on the bed there was a huge hairy, bloody booger in the bed. I hate to be a complainer and I contemplated just ripping that sheet off and dealing with it, but I was digusted so I called the front desk. I told the staff member of the booger and they didn't apologize or anything they just wondered if I wanted new bedding. I told them yes and someone was promptly up. I helped her change the bedding and she was very nice. Later in the evening I counted five dried up boogers wiped on the walls around the room! At this point we were only on day two and I wanted to leave to another hotel but didn't want to pay fees. The rest of the trip I tried to stay out of the room as much as I could. We ran out of toilet paper the third day and had to call, there was no conditioner or lotion, the vending machine in the parking lot was broken, the breakfast was not good as the one fruit they served (bananas) was not ripe. We left the hotel at 4am on our departure date because we could not wait to get out of there! I would never stay here again. However, there were some positive things if lack of cleanliness is not an issue for you. -Garden Walk is very close by and my family experienced new restaurants only because of our location. -Toy Story Shuttle is down the street from the hotel so you can hop on that to take you to Disneyland for free. -Gillip is nice. Finally, the hotel has some serious potential if more care and love were involved. The rooms need a deep cleaning and better attention to the walls and corners. They need to make their guests more comfortable and offer the essential items one expects to have on vacation (conditioner and lotion), they need to vamp up their pool area and add things that are appealing to the eye (ie. plants, nice umbrellas, loungers, etc.).…
Over the years we have always stayed here. It is always clean, have never had any issues. I do not like unclean hotels and this one has always been very clean. Safe and not too far of a walk to Disneyland. We come in from AZ and know we don't have to worry about anything with this hotel.
I hesitate to share my review for selfish reasons as I want to keep it for my own visits. If people realize what a hidden gem it is it will get harder to book. The hotel from the outside looks very non descript. Its low key and layed back. What I really liked was it was a mum and pop type business not one of the big brands. The room we got was on the top floor and had 3 queens in two rooms with a very small bathroom. It was spotless. Cleaner than most of the big brands I have stayed at. Nothing was fancy but everything was clean, comfortable and spacious (except the bathroom). The bathroom though small was big enough to be comfortable for the week we stayed there. Unlike big brand hotels they cleaned the rooms every day, had free parking and very low cost laundry. The price for the room was very reasonable and there wasn't any additional fees and I didn't leave feeling like I paid more for parking and fees than I did the room which is often the case in that area. There was always enough parking and a slow walk to disney was 15 min, 8 for a quick one. Uber trip back only 8 dollars. Nothing fancy but clean, comfortable and reasonable costs.…
This is a very nice inn operated by a friendly, considerate couple. Jyoti was especially kind, helping me with a bit of grocery shopping as I was on my own with no transportation. Narin and Ayush at the front desk explained where events and attractions were and helped me with planning things to do, easy ways to get around the neighbourhood, and bookings for Lyft and Uber. I also appreciated the help with learning to use my new cellphone. ;) The rooms are large, very clean and comfortable. Cleaning staff do an excellent job. Laundry is available on the second floor; be sure to have lots of quarters as the desk doesn't usually have enough. The continental breakfast is pretty basic and didn't vary much from packaged Danish-type pastries, bananas, orange juice, and packages of sweet instant oatmeal (all great if you love sweets, which I don't), but it is portable and therefore convenient. Coffee and tea are also available in the rooms. The outdoor pool was lovely--a refreshing place to read and relax that was private and surprisingly quiet despite its proximity to the road. I didn't walk to Disneyland because it was far too hot during my stay, so I used Uber for $10 - $15, depending upon time of day. (Don't forget that "ten minutes to the Park" does not include the long walk across the parking lot.) Coming back, I discovered the free hotel shuttles from Disneyland and Downtown Disney that dropped me nearly at the door upon request. (No. 7, Clementine/Katella). There's a Walgreens a half-block away; a small mall with a 7-11 is opposite from that on the corner; across the road and up a short way from the hotel is the Anaheim Garden Walk with various shops and restaurants and fast-food outlets. There are many ethnic restaurants in the immediate area. The fireworks can be seen from the corner of Harbour and Katella. I definitely recommend the Anaheim Islander Inn as a reasonably priced, well-maintained, convenient location, and should I visit Anaheim again, I would stay here. Thank you, Jyoti, Dilip, Ayush, and Niran for making my stay so pleasant. Oh, and if you want a terrific, reasonably priced sightseeing tour of LA that will pick you up from the hotel (many tours start in downtown LA, a fair distance away), I recommend Grand Express Tours.…
