This place is worth visiting for dinner. Our group of six had a pleasurable dining experience and the food was OK, nothing great, just OK..... the Chicken Marcella was sweet tasting and not what was expected, not bad, just different. The pork tenderloin was below average, one dish was overlooked and the other was a undercooked. The Bistro steak was...

We overnighted here mid-week, on a quick trip up to visit some of our favorite wineries in Plymouth. Our previous overnights in Amador County have been in Jackson, at the National Hotel, so we decided to branch out a bit. The Imperial is a quirky and fun old hotel, with a good restaurant on the premises and live music (this...

One night stay at this historic hotel. The room while small was clean; the bed was comfortable;the window had a good view. We had dinner in the ground floor restaurant; the meal included a beet salad, asparagus soup and clam laguine - all very good. The dining room is a pleasant eating area and the service is great. The complimentary...

The room was very roomy and comfortable, and very clean! Sometimes that is hard to achieve in a building that is well over 100 years old. Complimentary breakfast in the dining room was delicious. The bed was very comfortable. The room was cold, and I couldn't figure out how to make the heater work, but by the time I was...

This place was worth the drive. After being seated on a Wednesday evening, we were approached by one of the musicians who asked if they were too loud for conversation. How often does that happen? We had the warm brie and roasted garlic as one appetizer, then the artisanal cheese plate as another. Delicious! The baguette and flatbread crackers were...

Found this gold mine of a little hotel on our way from Sacramento to Yosemite. The place is steeped in the gold fever history with it's look, decor, and pictures. The rooms are clean and cozy and very well decorated. Great bar and restaurant downstairs. Loved the little reading room with small library, and of course, the balcony overlooking town....

It's very hard to pick out the top place to stay in the beautiful gold country. They all have charm, bucolic settings, amazing staff and we,ve stayed and enjoyed many of them. But wow, The Imperial, I'm a fan and fear that with the exception of visiting exquisite Columbia it will always be The Imperial from now on. The rooms...

Beautiful old time hotel which takes you back in time, but is cozy and comfortable with the modern conveniences you need. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the upper balcony with a glass of wine, just watching very little going by. Friendly staff, comfortable bed, quiet and peaceful surroundings, and excellent dinner in the restaurant downstairs. Didn't need anything else.

The Mother Lode Scots has had their Robert Burns Supper here in 2015 & 2016, couldn't have asked for better service and excellent food. To top it off, the perfect ambiance for the occasion. The Mother Lode Highland Games had need of several rooms Again, the service was wonderful, everyone raved about the meals.

We stayed in the annex, garden suites. No one to check us in, but the key was next to the bar, front entrance. Room was fine. Gas stove and whirlpool bath were a nice touch. Note that Amador city is only open for business Thursday through Sunday. The only thing open was the hotel. We ate and shopped in Sutter...
