This motel has an excellent location: yards from the bayshore, and across the street from a nice shopping center. The rooms are spacious for the price. Moderately clean; parking can be an issue. Ask for a room away from the bowling alley side (noisy at night).

Good alternative to the expensive hotels near the Oakland airport. At the western edge of Park Street by the San Francisco Bay in beautiful Alameda, the Coral Reef is only about 12 minutes from the airport and just blocks away from good restaurants and shopping along Park Street. Rooms are like studio apartments with a kitchenette, lots of closets (but...

Coral Reef Inn and Suites is located on Alameda Island. It is close to a pleasant walk against the San Francisco Bay where you can view the city. Rooms are clean but a little "tired." When we arrived on a Wednesday night in Feb we were ungraded to a suite because management wanted the room we had been assigned which...

The problem is that there are really no other options in the East End of Alameda unless you stay in the airport zone, in which case you are totally isolated. Coral Reef, at least, is across from the mall and shopping and dining. the hotel, however, is in very poor shape. Paint is chipped. It has an old building smell....

My wife is from Alameda and we have both spent many years there so we know the area. Coming back for a couple days to do some visiting, we elected to book a room, and we chose this one based on it's location to where we were going and it being close to the beach. I would say it's a...

This place is in BAD shape. The smells in the rooms are awful. We actually left. They showed us three rooms but all were bad. I'm not usually that picky but really I could NOT imagine sleeping there. We had already pre-paid and they would not refund our money but we hopped in an uber and drove to the nearest...

I don't normally write reviews but this was one I felt I had to. I booked an extended stay over this last holiday, for 3-4 people. I arrived late at night, so I felt forced to spend that night there. It isn't a hotel, more like a motel. The room was at the far end requiring us to walk along...

We had travelled on the lovely Coastal Starlight train from LA which arrived at Oakland after 9:30pm. When booking the train through Amtrak it offered a special on accommodation at this hotel of $122 per night. We thought it would be a good place to stay for 1 night until we moved to our other accomm in San fran. This...

Travelled with my wife and 2 small kids and was going to stay for 1 night before taking flight back from Oakland airport. Environment looked shady with so many suspicious people walking around and staring at us, like they never saw a family there. Checkin was easy, moved luggage to room only to find that room has a nig balcony...
