We decided to spend the night in Alpine after a day of wandering on the back roads. We stayed at the Sportsman Lodge in a cozy room with a view of the meadow across the road. We sat out front for around 4 hours watching the cattle, Canadian Geese and elk. It's rutting season for the elk and the bulls...

There are very few places to stay in Alpine, so I picked this one. I was there to hike Escadilla Mountain which is nearby, My room had a microwave and refrigerator and was spacious and clean. While checking in I was harassed by a pack of four snarling dogs. The man behind the desk tried to soothe them, but the...

We have been coming up here for years! Frank and phylis we consider as friends and family. We love the dogs. We can really unwind and never want to leave! Alpine is as close to heaven well as close as you Can get! Give them a try you won't regret it. Ron and Pat Wallick.

Accommodations in Alpine are limited and this place is ok - the kitchen and bath facilities had been redone and were very nice. The general cleanliness is good unless you look in the corners - cobwebs in the bathroom and cracked windows. However, the hummingbirds are fabulously entertaining and you can walk to the few restaurants in town. Beds were...

The barking dogs and smell of dogs in the check in area could be offensive to some. Fortunately, the room we had was clean and the dogs only bark when someone is arriving at the office door. They have expended some effort to make the bathrooms very nice with tile. The room was very clean. The mattress comfort was 6...

Was going to stay here but when attempting to check-in four large dogs were barking and attempting to jump on counter which scared both myself and my granddaughter. Person behind counter did not seem concerned when we decided to leave.

Wonderful Host! Very hospitable family place. Very clean and priced fairly. Looking forward to staying again. This was a warm, clean, safe, place to enjoy the wild. We awoke to the sound of ELK!!! Then on the way out saw an entire herd . That was priceless.....for the fur babies too.! Simply priceless.
