Hotel is old and in severe need of updating. Carpets stained, wallpaper peeling away, everything 'well used' and older than I am. Wifi is slow (2-4Mbps download), elevator is old and creepy. I'm not sure how this hotel is rated so highly on TripAdvisor. Only plus points were the staff were friendly and polite.

Spent four days looking around D.C. This hotel had a friendly staff, clean rooms. Very close to Foggy Bottoms metro station. Felt safe and in a quiet neighborhood but not too far from food if you get hungry.

Family trip to the district. Hotel was close to everything as we biked about 14 miles over two days. Bedsheets came off a lot. The fee for parking was ridiculous. The elevator was a bit old and creepy. Free bottled water was nice and the staff was accommodating, even to my candy hoarding children who kept raiding the container in...

We stayed at the University Inn when went to DC for the Climate March and for some general sightseeing in DC. The hotel was conveniently located, close to the Foggy Bottom Metro stop from which we could get anywhere in town and within easy walking distance of Georgetown and other NW neighborhoods. The staff was very friendly and helpful and...

University Inn is well located for walking to monuments and the National Mall. If you are looking for a spanking new hotel experience with glamour and glitz, packaged breakfast, cocktail bar and flunkeys - then this is not for you. If you are looking for good price, comfort, polite staff, and well located - then this will do the trick....

It was Greatness! You cannot beat the location as we were a three minute walk to the Metro and we loved that it was not your typical "chain" hotel. If we ever go back to D.C., this is where we are staying. I can only hope your stay will be as good as ours.

We always stay here. It's always been good to us and close to GWU and the sights. I like the running paths along the Potomac as well. I always get a good sleep there. We are returning in July and will stay there again.

Service was superb and it was great having a kitchenette equipped with pots, pans, utensils, microwave, toaster, tea kettle, fridge. It was so much easier to be away from home in this place with a crawling baby and active toddler. Plenty of space for them to move and play. However, the actual building and room furniture were very old. It...

Nice cosy place to stay. Ample space and has a working kitchen. Walking distance to food place. Clean and friendly staff. Not much options for in dining. No lunch at all. But because you are near to 7 eleven and food place 5 mins away.
