The suites are large and well-appointed and although it is intended as an extended stay hotel, you can book for just a few nights. There were nice wood floors, extra half-bath, washer and dryer and the kitchen even had a coffee grinder! The location is great with many good rest

The AKA was a great base for our 2018 summer vacation. The location is superb for touring the area: two blocks from the subway and a couple more from the White House. We expected to pay more for that but it's surprisingly affordable. The staff are friendly and helpful. The tw

What is/are the difference(s) between a 1-Bedroom Suite vs. 1-Bedroom Platinum Suite? Are the Platinum ones on higher floors? Newly renovated? Have more amenities inside, or other reasons? The same question was asked by someone on this forum about 1 yr ago but no solid answers were given. Hopefully someone who has recently stayed in the AKA White House could help. In the hotel's own website, they do not give any explanations. Thank you!
Hi there - I stayed recently in a Platinum one bedroom suite. Think they are the more newly renovated ones and I was on one of the upper floors (7 out of 9 or 10 I think). I'd ask for a room at the front of the hotel though, I found the back room I had quite dark and noisy from the trucks delivering at offices behind the hotel at all hours of day & night.

I also utilized Uber to get to the hotel so did not use the garage.

Definitely and the kitchen is equipped with a full line of appliances which gives the option of cooking a meal if you choose.

Do all rooms have a washer and dryer? How close is the nearest grocery store?
Yes they do. There is a CVS pharmacy that sells food a couple of blocks away as is a 7 eleven.
