Arriving at this inn is like walking into someone's private home. It is beautifully furnished and decorated, lots of antiques, even the bathroom was pretty antique, the rooms were beautiful, great carpets, great paintings; the lady at the reception is like out of a Murakami novel, superfriendly, easy going and serving delicious, simple breakfast even when one had not ordered...

A beautiful, turn of the 20th century building, quiet, off Connecticut and Columbia Avenues. Good breakfasts. Accommodating staff. DuPont Circle and its Metro station are 15-20 minutes walk; buses are closer.

It is not just the proximity in the heart of the DC area... When you wake up and go down for your breakfast, it is pretty much like Mom or your Aunt cooking you a wholesome, fresh and nutritious breakfast and exactly how you want it...literally right in front of you! Hats off to "Yoshie", the hostess who does it...

I booked on trip advisor and when I checked in I was told specifically that breakfast wasn't included and I couldn't partake of the breakfast portion of the B&B, though I read the reservation and it DOES NOT breakfast would not be included. I didn't want much just coffee/tea and a muffin. I am going to DC in the next...

Stayed for a week in mid April. Sort of a guesthouse where the owner lives nearby and the front desk is staffed at set times. Late arrival will incur a fee. Other guests from around the world interesting to talk to at breakfast. Breakfast is a set menu at a set time, so be aware. The house is beautiful, some...

Stayed for 3 nights during conference at Washington Hilton. Great location for that. Easy walk to Adams Morgan area too. Check-in was smooth but after that I only saw any staff member once. I went into the dining room, looking for breakfast, or at least coffee, but was told there wasn't any. I didn't spend any energy trying to figure...

I had an en-suite room which was beautifully appointed. It was a very hot time of year so the lack of A/C wasn't great, but the fan was mostly sufficient. The rooms mostly face away from the sun/have shade from the trees, so that prevents overheating. The stairs might be a problem if you have mobility issues as I didn't...

People have written varied perspectives and probably all are true. I had a conference and was glad to find a comfortable place for 1/3 of what I would have paid in the hotels. I was thrilled to engage with the other folks staying there. I love the guesthouse vibe. Several foreigners stayed there as this is normal for them. I...

I just returned yesterday from a four night stay at the Taft Bridge Inn. As long as you do your research and know about the places you will enjoy yourself. The owner Yoshie is very nice and tries to please. She makes breakfast each morning for the guests. I stayed in room 18 on the second floor with a private...

The room was acceptable though the bathtub was funky and worn. A number of people staying were at the conference I was attending and it was an easy walk to the conference venue. The breakfasts okay, but they were late and so individuals who needed to present early did not get their full breakfast, only what they could grab off...
