We really enjoyed our stay at the Sofitel DC for a weekend to see the museums. Our room, a junior/executive suite, was clean and spacious, and the location was really excellent. And thanks to the concierge/valet manager, Million, our weekend was not ruined by a bad parking decision when we pulled in on Friday afternoon. We accidentally drove by the hotel on first pass, so pulled into the next parking garage to park, as we did not have a ton of stuff with us. We made the mistake of not checking the hours, and of course, the garage was closed on the weekend. To make a long story short, Million rescued us and was able to help us get the car out on Sunday. He is truly "one in a Million" and what set this hotel apart. We will be back to Sofitel next time the museums are calling but will definitely remember to valet next time. Thank you Million and the rest of the staff at Sofitel for making our stay great!…
The Sofitel is charming and situated in a beautiful part of Washington DC. Restaurants and monuments are easily within walking distance. There is a very European feel to the hotel and staff were welcoming and helpful. There is a lovely bar and restaurant on premises. Nous reviendrons❤️
Sofitel Washington DC is perfectly located in midtown, just round the corner from a metro station with a direct and cheap link to Dulles IAD airport. Check in was quick and easy but the reception staff initially failed to acknowledge our status perks or even our response to their own late check out offer. But after check in, the hotel acknowledged the request and were very accommodating. This is a lovely hotel, traditional decor, friendly staff, and great clean room. Free water every day. Lots of charging points. Breakfast rate includes a large plate, coffee and juice only, but the portions are big, tasty and very attentive service. And ends at midday at weekends, good after late night drinking in the local bars. Luggage storage available on check out and chilled fruit water at reception in the evenings. I would definitely stay here again on a DC visit. …
We enjoyed our stay. The staff was incredibly friendly, the room was clean, and the bed was nice and firm. Wi-Fi was nice and fast too! My only complaint is that the room was incredibly hot. Other than that we had a great time!
Right in the middle of the action. 1 block to the metro. Cozy bathrobe. Five guys and subway are also a block away or plenty of snooty restaurants in the area. I recommend la pupatella pizzaria for a Neapolitan pizza
Great stay, really enjoyed the service with the valet, who’s name is Mazimba. Incredibly friendly, professional and timely in our needs. We look forward to using the valet during our next stay and seeing Mazimba again.
Lovely visit at a beautiful hotel. Breakfast staff and valet parking crew were especially warm and friendly. We even bought gummy bears and ate them in the bathtub, which I have never tried before but highly recommend.
A lovely, quiet hotel with a personal touch. It is in a great location (close to the White House). It has great rooms with a large bathtub and a walk-in shower. You won't run into convention people staying here or tourists. The place to stay in DC.
Very nice hotel in a great location for walking to many DC attractions. My husband was in town on business and I tagged along. Our room was on the 9th floor - never heard anyone in the other rooms, very comfy bed, spacious room and lovely large bathroom. The bathrobes and slippers along with Balmain bath products were great. Easy walk to restaurants and Starbucks, Wawa, The Mall, Smithsonian, etc. A bit cumbersome to get the streaming service to work in the room - never could get some of the apps to work only Netflix but we made do. The hairdryer was a bit on the cheap side and barely blew air - housekeeping brought a much better replacement. Best hotel towels around! All the valet employees were very helpful. Not much of a view for interior rooms but we were not in room for most of the day. …
Nice room and good location. Very mediocre service. No comfortable common spaces. This is a three star hotel that pretends to be more but doesn't really succeed. The valet parking is significantly over priced. Not very many amenities.
