We reviewed the rooms booked and did not stay. It was like turning the clock back to 1960 with a ramshackle group of rooms joined together. The ladder up the bedroom in one was steep and the ceiling was very low, so you can stand up. You would need to crawl into the bed. Cleanliness - well depends upon the...

Stayed in the Studio which was very comfortable. Had a little deck which was lovely to have our breakfast and look at the magnificent view of Oneroa which was very busy with boats. Close to shops, restaurants and wineries. Location suited us perfectly.

We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay... and it was at the right time because we're finally getting some rain now. Much needed but it is already clearing. Kind regards Gaye and Dyan

Cozzy little place, friendly and helpful staff, the view is absolutely stunning. Only down side is, if you dont have a car, this place is very tricky to get to and also the room rate should be a bit cheaper, compare to what you got. Over all its still a 7.5/10

Hi Joe Thank you for your feedback. I do agree that it is a bit of a climb to get up to Tawa Lodge which is the downside to getting the great view. I am interested in your comment about pricing and would appreciate you letting me know which room type you were in so we can have a look...

We wanted two rooms together and this little gem provided that with shared kitchen area and place to sit and be sociable for breakfast. The staff treated us like old friends and went out of their way to be friendly and gave us some suggestions of things to do on Waiheke. THe drive like so many on the island is...

We spent 2 nights here in the Studio room. Whilst it was 2 rooms both with King/Queen beds it was a little cramped. There is nowhere to put one's clothing so are compelled to live out of a suitcase. The TVs is little larger than a computer screen and although the chairs are cushioned and generally comfortable, they are not...

Hi folks Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. It was lovely to meet you both and we have certainly taken on board your suggestions.... bit hard to make the toilet move although we are actually trying to work out how to improve that whole space (very tricky as I'm sure you'd appreciate having seen the...

This is a very homely and friendly place to stay. Dyna was really friendly and helpful on the phone as was Chrissy when we arrived. Views from Aroma Del Mar are amazing. Accommodation is lovely, just don't expect hotel chain quality. But in a way this is what makes it nice. The staff are great. The breakfast was lovely. We...

We stayed at the Tawa House which was a great private self-accommodating unit, including pretty much anything you'd want on a holiday. The kitchen we fully equipped for cooking and there is a BBQ in the shared garden area too. The views from the top floor sunroom and balcony were amazing. The staff was very responsive and the extra home-baked...

We stayed in the studio, a flimsy poorly "designed" 2 bedroom apartment which seems to be made up of low ceilinged rooms tacked together at different angles. Comfortable beds but otherwise cheaply furnished. Up a tricky steep drive a 10 min walk from town. Spectacular view from one bedroom which is almost filled by the double bed. Ordinary and not...

Our trip to Waiheke was a last minute decision so the accommodation choices were limited. I'm glad, as I wouldn't have found this gem. We stayed in B&B Bedroom one, which is well worth the extra $10 per night compared to the other rooms due to the view (and slightly bigger room). Don't get me wrong, this is no fancy...

“Owner gave us advice & directions to walk to dinner at Mudbrick winery. He said about a 20 minute, pleasant walk! This is a VERY upmarket, expensive restaurant, keep in mind. So we were dressed accordingly. Here is the modified spiel from my FB page the next day .....Motel freak / owner says, 'oh, u can walk to dinner tonight.' Off we go to a 5 star restaurant, in heels ... His words were, ' Just down a few streets, along the beach front, past the marae (Maori traditional meeting place), up an easy track & you're there.' My version of his directions are now, having done both .... Walk down the mountain to the sea shore, along the shore until it ends, up the dead end lane & back (1000 mtrs. In heels, it was a private residence), past the marae until there is no more shoreline, then vertical climb thru, rocks, dust, dirt, undergrowth until you hit a road at the top of a hill. Follow that road "UP" 4 kilometers & there is the magnificent MUDBRICK WINERY. Turn into its gate elated u have made it & ** me, it's another vertical dirt driveway of 200-400 meters. By this time I was climbing with two Clydesdale horses, telling them my woes & in a violent, psychotic rage trying to be pleasant & chatty with horses! I'd sent husband ahead as I had turned into ** (insert any violent killer's name here). This winery was one of THE most beautiful places I've ever been in my life. I arrive like I'm an All Black after a game, make that a losing game! Sweaty, livid, talking horse & covered in dirt. THEN the sweet thing looking me up & down realises, DON'T MESS WITH THIS ONE. Sits this fat, menopausal woman under a ** heater. No way ..... I'm moving now & bring me some alcohol. We had a wonderful night & caught a cab home”
