Tawa lodge is up on the hill our room has a great view. We had the self contained cottage with kitchen, shower, toilet, lounge and huge bed (everything you need is there, also a heatpump) . The owner Diane - she is amazingly friendly and helpful, even drove us to Mudbrick. Short walk to main town centre and bus stop is just 2 minutes walk down the hill. Highly recommended.

We stayed in the Studio in Tawa Lodge - high above the trees, with wonderful views over the bay. The Studio is perfect for a rest and seclusion but is a short walk to Oneroa - even closer to Little Oneroa for a swim there. Dyan, your hostess, is hospitality itself.

There are a number of options at Tawa Lodge and Punga Lodge - give Dyan a ring and she will advise on the best option for you.

Highly recommended for everything. Thanks Dyan!

Punga Lodge is rustic with no frills and fine for a nights stay. We wanted Tawa Lodge however it was full hence us staying in Punga. It is set in the native bush a couple of minutes walk from little Oneroa beach. Perfect location for us as we could shop and dine in Oneroa a 10 minute walk away. Diane and Rob are such super hosts worth staying there just to meet them.

The loveliest cosy little cottage with a deck to the most beautiful ocean views (and native birds everywhere). We didn't opt in for the breakfast, so can't comment on that, but the kitchen (and bathroom) were supplied with all the things you'd hope for (plus a few more!). We are grateful for our stay and will be back. Didn't want to leave. It really has a true Waiheke essence and vibe to it, and while the walk up to Tawa Lodge is quite a steep road, there are native birds, native trees, great views and beautiful houses for you to take in during your walk (and it's a really good work out!) Thank you Tawa Lodge/Aroma del Mare Cottage for being friendly and happy hosts -
Isabel and David

We stayed in Tawa Lodge for my friends birthday and it was perfect for everything we needed. Close to the bus stop and a short walk into town near restaurants and bars and right by the beach! Dyan was a FANTASTIC host, checking we had everything we needed and advising if we had any problems.

Thank you for a fantastic stay!

We stayed in the cottage on the hill with the most magical views.
We were well looked after by the host and our stay was comfortable, warm and cosy.
A short walk to the town centre and one of the beaches.
Really enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back.

We stayed in the Studio Suite which is OK but not great (only water for example in bathroom vs kitchenette), no kitchen sink. Because its upstairs when someone is downstairs in the self contained apartment you can hear the TV, feel/hear them going up and down the stairs, hear talking, etc. That really lets the place down.
The hosts who are based at Punga Lodge which they also own are very helpful and staying at Punga Lodge will see you receive first rate hospitality. Unfortunately, the studio suite didn't meet our expectations on our stay and won't be returning to Tawa Lodge.

Stayed in the Honey moon suite was told it was very private secluded cottage and that they had a spa pool unfortunately the spa pool is at another lodge about 1.5 km from this one the cottage had people on three sides with anyone walking down the drive looking straight into the unit
The neighbours behind had decided to have a few drinks so there was very little peace and quite
the lodge accommodation looked great but as for the cottage sorry but i would look else where
$550 for two night is way to high for this style of accommodation
Good veiws but not vaule for money at all

Our trip to Waiheke was a last minute decision so the accommodation choices were limited. I'm glad, as I wouldn't have found this gem. We stayed in B&B Bedroom one, which is well worth the extra $10 per night compared to the other rooms due to the view (and slightly bigger room).

Don't get me wrong, this is no fancy accommodation. This was just a great place to stay at a good price with all the basic facilities you could need. The breakfast was amazing, and there was a lot of it. Although there were 3 rooms sharing a bathroom, there was never any waiting.

The location is great, only 10 mins to Oneroa shops (Cable Bay Vineyard only an extra 15 min walk from the shops) and very close to the beach.

For value it can't be beaten, will definitely be my first choice when we next go back to Waiheke.

Stayed at Tawa lodge. Great room, fantastic views and helpful staff. Cheap as chips too - a third the rate of some apartments on the same street but with better views. Meals not included but plenty of places to eat in town which is a five minute walk. Staff in Onerora tourist information incredibly friendly and helpful too. We'll definitely be back (if they don't hike the prices after this review!). Stevie & Angie

Room Tip: The sister Punga lodge is cheaper, but Tawa lodge for the luxury
