We stayed as guests of Liz & Gene and what a marvellous host they proved to be making our stay a highlight of our travel. This lodge is 5 star with matching service. The home made breakfast each morning to the daily canapés and a glass of beverage at 6pm was just delicious. It gave all guests to meet and... More

As I sit back at work today in Sydney it's hard to believe we left the lodge only yesterday. The number one reason for staying here is the jaw-dropping view and watching the sunset with a glass of wine in hand and canapes prepared by Gene and Liz each evening. With only four rooms at the lodge, it's a chance... More

My husband and I recently stayed for 3 nights at Te Whau Lodge and wish we could have stayed longer - it was such a lovely place and we have never felt so relaxed - I think it helps to have the most fantastic views from your room and all you can do is sit and read and just chill... More

I was looking for a place with a great view to propose to my now fiancee, and Te Whau Lodge provided the perfect venue. Great rooms, awesome views, and with Liz and Gene you have the most amazing hosts you could ask for. They went above and beyond in making it a fantastic weekend, one I'll always remember. My husband and I stayed a night at this lovely rustic lodge and found the hosts Gene and Liz to be genuinely friendly, helpful and very hospitable. They seem to enjoy their guests company and it was lovely to sit with them and other quests for wine and delicious nibbles prepared by Gene in the early evening sunlight. The lodge... More

It was a very peaceful and happy stay. The Hosts Liz and Gene were very warm, connected and helpful - nothing was too much trouble even though our party of 6 sometimes was a bit demading regarding our Breakfast requirements but nothing was ever too much trouble. Gene was amazing with his varied breakfast offer he had for us over... More

This lodge is truly amazing inside and out with the most breathtaking views, tranquility, & seclusion. The entire lodge and especially all of the accommodations have unobstructed views of the bay from inside the suites and the spacious private decks outside. The owners, Gene & Liz are most gracious and accommodating to their guests providing spectacular breakfasts, wine & canapés,... More

We enjoyed a wonderful two night stay here in December. Te Whau Lodge is in the most beautiful setting and has gorgeous views from the rooms and communal areas. The whole lodge has a great feel and is tastefully decorated throughout. Liz and Gene are excellent hosts and could not have done enough for us. The breakfasts and canapés were... More

After some years of thinking of staying I finally managed it!! A car ferry booked online is cheaper always!!! try that so you can enjoy the island with your own car.The passenger ferry is great too and the lodge accomodates helicopter landing. When we arrived at the lodge for our one night my partner realised that some 16 years ago... More
