I spent only one night here, so I do not consider myself an expert. The hostel is fine; sleeping here was not at all bad. However, it lacks the charm that some of New Zealand's hostels possess. Additionally, I didn't find the benefits of some hostels I've stayed in; the staff didn't seem to have a great knowledge of the...

It's a cozy nice looking place to stay after taking the ferry. Picton is so small that the hostel cannot be on a good location, just 5 min from everything. The staff is friendly, the place clean and the TV room comfy. The kitchen looks small but the place is, so it won't be crowded. Each place has something special....

Awesome place to stay! Everything was clean and easy to use. Kitchen well stocked with crockery, cutlery etc and lounge had loads of chairs and sofa's in which to lie back on and snooze. It's centrally located-right by the ferry point, easy to find and within easy walking distance of town. There are the laundry facilities, video library and a...

I've been hostel hopping for a good few months now throughout New Zealand and the quality varies quite a bit. This one, though in a small town with not too much sizeable competition, does well. The rooms are big- verging on massive for this genre. I was in an eight bed female dorm and we could still have had a...

This hostel is good but needs some money spent on it to bring it in line with the standard across New Zealand. The showers have hooks inside the cubicles which are mostly broken and the rooms don't have lockers but the beds are comfortable!! If I do stay in Picton again I would return here but I'd try to get...

Just wanted to say thanks for a great nights rest. It is literally a minute drive from ferry terminal. Me and hubby had double bed opposite reception. Music stopped at 10.30pm as stated and reasonably quiet through the night. Only downside was we got woken up a few times in the morning as ppl were leaving as we were very...

Free bread and jam for breakfast and free soup at dinner. No lockers in the rooms and 7 minutes showers only. It's a really small backpacker, fells more like a guesthouse. Fireplace is nice. The kitchen is big enough. It's well-situated. I would recommend it if you're okay with comfort but basic.

The place is quite small but in a good location of Picton. My three friends and I stayed here so we got a room for just four which was a bunk bed and a double bed. It is slightly dated, and the kitchen gets really busy. We were in a room that backed on to a track of some sort...

Pretty good backpackers, free breakfast and soup in evening, chilled atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, has monopoly.... ideal for those rainy days. Also has pool table. Not in perfect condition but still playable, tv lounge and movies :)

I liked this backpackers, the staff were friendly and accommodating. The facilities are great including a pool table and a great lounge space. The room I stayed in was spacious even though it had 8 beds in. It is also very close to the ferry and town.

Thank Kelly P
