Magnificent 1886 heritage villa restored in keeping with its gracious style and era to offer three charming and comfortable first floor accommodation options. (Please note: there is only stair access to first floor). Luxury linens, private entrance, generous daily continental breakfast, sunny balcony with views over hills and Picton, formal gardens, native bush and abundant birdlife, only a 10 to 15 minute walk to Picton's restaurants, waterfront, track transport and wine tours.
Don and Steph made me feel so welcome at Sennen House. The room was beautiful and Steph makes lovely home made goodies - bread, cakes....Joey the sheep is on hand to say hello 🙂 The gardens are wonderful - and only a short walk into Picton. Don’t forget to do queen Charlotte drive - only a hop away.

My husband and I stayed here in early April 2018 after we finished walking the Queen Charlotte Track. The place is wonderful. The room with the 4 poster bed is gorgeous, as are the well manicured gardens. Each morning we received fresh made bread and a warm frittata/savoury slice. It's only a 10 minute walk from the centre of town. Oh! They also a sheep that is very large (and constantly hungry - you can feed him!). Warm, friendly hosts, luxurious surroundings and excellent food. Would absolutely stay here again.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Sennen House for 3 nights in March. Don and Stephanie were lovely hosts and very helpful. My wife requires a gluten free diet and they went out of their way to provide a number of gluten free items for her to enjoy. While these are cottages, they did deliver a great fritata to our room for us to enjoy one morning for breakfast. Room was incredibly clean and well stocked. Be aware that all rooms are upstairs and there is short walk uphill from the parking lot so anyone with mobility issues may have difficulties. Don was certainly there to help with our luggage if we needed it. All in all, a great experience at the Sennen House. Highly recommended.

A bit of a corny review title, but a true reflection of this marvellous building in Picton’s history. If staying in Picton, even for one night, put this at the top of your shortlist. The house is a treasure, with a beautiful well tended garden, gorgeous period rooms, a sheep to pet for those who will, and a very warm welcome from Steph and Don who will go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Not to mention Piper and Sid, who will greet you as soon as you arrive!

What a magic place! We had the upstairs suite in this lovely historic B &B, and were totally spoiled by its luxury. Great welcome from our hosts, carrot cake to enjoy! The rooms are luxurious and very comfortable; big king bed, two bathrooms to choose from, fresh fruit, nice toiletries. The gardens are glorious. We were provided with a huge range of breakfast options. We had to leave very early for the ferry to Wellington, but our host was immediately there to carry our bags to the car! Would have loved to stay longer...this place is a real gem. Absolutely recommended ❤️❤️

Can’t be positive enough about this place. The owner was very friendly to pick us up at the harbor after we’ve been vainly waiting for a taxi. We have stayed at James Cook apartment. It’s like you visit your parents’ house where your room is still waiting for you) tidy, plenty of details and serene...we’ve spent time reading and eating on the peaceful terrace) There is a kitchenette with a fridge in case you want to microwave something or have a cup of coffee. We were also provided with food in the room: eggs, bread, cakes, fruit, cheese, jam; which is plenty for having breakfast in. The gardens around the property are magnificent and there are plenty of walk possibilities. Nothing more to wish for! We had a very relaxing stay here!

Sennen House is perfect!! Your hosts Steph and Don are super sweet and accommodating - our ferry arrived quite late and they still helped us with our bags and checking in when we got there. The rooms are gorgeous, and the breakfast with fresh bread was I think the best we had our whole 2 weeks in NZ! Plus, they have 2 cute pups and a friendly sheep (Jerry) to fill all your animal needs. We could only stay one night, but I wish it had been longer. Hope to make it back here next time!!

One lovely night here, would have loved to stay longer. Lovely room with everything we needed. Lovely to see a room with an iron and ironing board too! Breakfast was fabulous with still warm home-baked bread! But best of all of course was enjoying time with Jerry the Sheep.... Highly recommend Sennen and thanks for a lovely night. Next time we will try to stay longer.

Thank you so much for your lovely review and we also hope that you can stay longer next time. I think Jerry must now be the most popular sheep in New Zealand and if only he was worth his weight in gold we would be billionaires! He is not getting any smaller! We hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday and have a safe trip home.
