Been meaning to write this since we stayed with Colette for 3 nights in mid-February 2014. Outstanding! Our cabin was bright, squeaky clean, comfortable and private. The view of the Sound was unimpeded, the ocean sounds and breezes were a delight, and Colette could not be more welcoming. She is a peach. Breakfasts were appealing, not too heavy and always...

For us this was the perfect B&B. We loved the talkings with Colette, we loved the views (the pictures dont lie :-), we liked the perfect breakfast with all the freshly baked goods, we loved the two awesome cats (greets to Benji :-)). Perfect stay for more than just one night - Picton is worth it! Hope to see you...

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your Tripadvisor review. Colette was thrilled to read your review and your very thoughtful words. We were especially delighted with the photo you captured of Benji down near the water. He sure is a character. We look forward to seeing your back at Whatamonga in the near future. Kind Regards.

Collette was a charming hostess but we felt that the room lacked what it needs to justify the price. We stayed in interlocking rooms as 3 adults. The only mirror was in the bathroom so that was a problem in the mornings. The 2nd room had no tea or coffee facilities or fridge so not worth the same price as...

Thank you for your feedback on our guest rooms. Having been a homestay operator for 14 years yours is the first negative feedback we have received on TripAdvisor and we welcome the chance to respond to your concerns. Having spoken with you on numerous times during your stay, especially over breakfast, we are disappointed you did not raise your concerns...

We greatly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Whatamonga Homestay. The self contained unit was of an exceptionally high standard, with amazing views of Queen Charlotte Sound from the private decked balcony. At night we didn't even bother to close the curtains as the moonlight shining on the water was stunning. Colette was very helpful with local advice and she...

We stayed at WH for 2 nights. We loved it. The cabin was clean and comfortable and the view amazing. It was good to spend time chatting with Colette over breakfast, she was friendly and hospitable. John really enjoyed the opportunity to fish too. It was about 15 minutes to Picton but well worth it for the beautiful location and...

This was more than we expected, quality accommodation with a wonderful view of Charlotte sound and passing boats. The room was modern, clean, comfortable and quiet, with sliding doors to verandah for the breathtaking views. Collette provides a sumptuous breakfast, and is an attentive host, and we enjoyed meeting her. It is well worth the 15 min. coastal drive from...

It's difficult to add any more superlatives to what other reviewers have said. Whatamonga was the second homestay of our trip, and that set the bar extremely high! Colette was helpfulness personified, and we would loved to have stayed forever. We couldn't fault a thing if we tried. Thank you Colette for a wonderful stay!

“There are 2 stand-alone cabins and both are great. There is also accommodation on the ground floor of the home that offers a bath and 1-2 bedrooms. The 2-bedroom option is really to accommodate those traveling with children, family or friends who require a 2d bedroom. If the ground floor is rented to a party using only 1 of the bedrooms, the 2d unit is NOT rented.”
