This was our first stop on the south island, our room had 2 single beds and one double. It was dated, and smelt dated. We had a dining table but all four of us barely could sit at it. We found cockroaches in the bathroom..that was a low.

The owners of this motel have tried to update it. They are obviously aiming at being a budget choice and it really shows. We had stayed in an absolutely gorgeous motel in Nelson the previous two nights and for exactly the same price High Street Living Picton was in comparison a real letdown. Accomodation in Picton seems really expensive. It...

The units in this motel are spacious with a separate bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living area. The kitchen was rather old but functional. The location is great, right in the heart of town and within an easy walk of the ferry terminal. If you are travelling on Bluebridge ferry there is a shuttle bus. I would recommend this motel. There was a...

This review isnt for the high street living motel in high street but a two edroomed apartment thru the same people. We had booked thru booking.com and on arrival at 8.15pm found the booking hadn't been recorded. The owner after tracking him down did his best to find something local but everything was booked up. He offered us a very lovely...

Family of 5 (2 adults 3 children 14,11,5) staying in a 2 bedroom room. All kitchen facilities and bathroom. This small complex has undergone renovations. The rooms are very comfortable and have new modern decor. The owners are warm and welcoming and also own a restaurant a few doors down called the Thirsty Pig (discount for staying at the motel)....

Not a fancy place to stay but was perfect for our needs. It is run by a very sweet couple who was more than happy to help with directions and suggestions. Great location near everything you would want for food, drink and entertainment. Also very easy walking distance to the ferry to the North island.

Friendly staff at check-in. Rooms are dated but clean. Within seconds of walking to shops and bars. Given a discount to the Thirsty Pig ... good lamb roast! Great place to stay overnight, though rooms can be a bit noisy if windows are left open. At $130 the room is good value. If you are looking for higher end accommodation...

Clean and tidy place to stay in Picton's main street. It's very close to a number of good bars and restaurants, and at the end of the street the waterfront and a great playground. Didn't expect to have to clean the wine glasses before using, but otherwise was really good.

My partner and I stayed here the night on the 26th and enjoyed it! Picton had some stunning weather which made it even better. The owners were so lovely and we enjoyed playing with their gorgeous dogs! My only gripe was that the water pressure in the shower was really average, and the bed was a little bit hard for...

We were in Picton for only one day as we were on a cruise. However, the minute we walked in the door of The Thirsty Pig we were made to feel SOOO welcome that we stayed for much longer than we had intended. We understand that the owners have only been there for a short while but what wonderful, welcoming...

We are situated right in the heart of Picton, surrounded by shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. The Ferry terminal is only 750 metre's away and the railway statin is even closer than that. There is so much to do with the opening of the Marlborough sounds just a minutes walk from you room. You can book a fishing charter or just cruise the sounds eating seafood and having a couple good marlborough savvy's. You can book some push bikes and take in some of the beautiful scenery on offer. We have 10 units available, 4 Studio's and 6 family two bedroom units. Each unit has a carpark outside their door so need to worry about finding parking out on the street. We are pet friendly by prior arrangement so if you are moving and don't have an option of putting your pet in a kennel etc bring him/her with you! ... more   less
