L’Abri was our first stop in New Zealand and it turned out to be the best B&B during our journey. We stayed three nights to acclimatize in the wonderful surroundings of Akaroa, only 50 K from Christchurch. Jane was the perfect host, offering her warm house and beautiful garden to relax. Our kids loved to run around in the gardens,...

Quite simply one of the best B&B experiences we've ever had. Jane warmly greeted us and promptly settled us in our comfortable room complete with an amazing view of her gorgeous gardens and the lake beyond. Everything was provided plus extras like chocolates and homemade biscuits. Breakfast was the best - from the tasteful table settings to the delicious scrambled...

After a month in New Zealand, we decided to treat ourselves at the end of the year (and start of the new year). L'Abri provided eveything we were looking for... and so much more. Hostess Jane is an absolute gem who cooks up a delicious breakfast. Our room was more than luxurious, spotless and included chocolates, Nespresso and a bottle...

We very much enjoyed our stay at L'Abri just a few kilometres outside of Akaroa. We had booked a Queen Studio and were in the cottage which is very quaint, spacious and very comfortably furnished with lots of personal touches from the expert hand of our friendly hostess Jane. We were left breakfast ingredients in our fridge of fruits, muesli,...

Our room was private with the most stunning views. We did the walking track in to Akaroa which was a great way to spend the afternoon. Jane was a wonderful host who paid attention to the small details. Her gardens are amazing. Chooks roaming free. We had a wonderful stay. You could definately stay in the area for longer than...

I stayed here with my husband in the B & B; our friends stayed in the cottage; and we all loved this place. I agree with the previous reviewer that this is the best way to see Akaroa. Walk or drive into town when you need to. Or just spend all your time at L'Abri and enjoy the sea view,...

I had the most gorgeous room with stunning views over the harbour and garden. Jane is the ultimate B&B host. She's efficient, yet friendly. Warm and chatty but not intrusive. An absolute marvellous cook - her breakfasts were scrumptious and kept me going all day. I stayed for 2 days and I'm so pleased I did as there was so...

Jane is a wonderful hostess. Every detail has been thoughtfully included, from the delicious homemade biscuits to the amazing breakfasts. The most comfortable bed and pillows we have ever slept on and the decor is charming. The view is stunning and she has thought of all the little extras. She is very welcoming and on our departure gave us some...

Our second visit to L'Abri - we would never go anywhere else. Jane has created a special place to escape and unwind. We had complete privacy yet never felt we were confined to our room. Jane has a way of making you feel so 'at home' in her beautiful home. We were encouraged and felt very at ease to wander...

My stay with my significant other was such a thrilling experience for both of us I only wish I had more time to spend there. The accommodation was a luxurious treat while being an incredible value..This lovely home has what I'd call a world-class view of the harbor as well as the mountains with convenient access to the waterfront. Lovely...
