Stayed here for a night with my friend. Not your average backpackers as it's two houses converted - the house we were in was only three bedrooms. However the house was cute, the rooms were comfortable and the staff were friendly. As there is only one bathroom in the house (the toilet is separate) be prepared to wait a while...

Our 2nd Visit to the Dolphin Backpackers and we will be back. Great location so close to the harbour and all the happenings in Akaroa. We feel at home here and can relax in this peaceful place. The hosts are very friendly.Loved the red and white petunias in the pots on the doorstep too. Sent lots of our time out...

Very clean and ran by a nice friendly couple. Its two houses side by side. Not very big which is good. Its more of a house stay than a backpackers which is good as we got some peace and quiet. Rooms were big and had a heater to keep us warm at night. Also has a tv room with a...

My husband and I recently stayed 2 nights at the Akoroa Dolphin Backpackers and found the accomodations pleasant. Very basic bedrooms with a shared bathroom, living space and kitchen. They rented the whole house to us for $110. The house was very basic. There was some complete board games, which we used and enjoyed.
