Wrest Point Hotel garners appreciation for its modern, pristine rooms that offer breathtaking views, although guests have called out concerns regarding noise and room size. The hotel's diverse amenities, from multiple dining options to live entertainment, contribute to its allure, albeit opinions on value are divided, with some guests highlighting affordability and others pointing out additional expenses. Booked the first four nights through a third party app, for the Mountain View Deluxe King. We couldn't get the friday night thru the app in the same room.

I called up the Wrest point directly to see whether we could get the same room for the friday night. I was pleased Naomi gave us the additional night for our first week stay at the same rate as our first four nights.
At the same time i booked an additional 3 nights, the following week ( monday through to thursday) in the motor inn, matching the price i found on a third party app.
When we arrived, we enjoyed the new modern updated room of 1215; with the walk in shower, overlooking the the water feature and full views of the mountain and partial views of the harbour/boats.
So i went down to reception, asking Will to upgrade our motor inn booking to stay in 1215. I pleased for small upgrade fee we could stay in our room the following week.

The only small complaint i have, we requested to have the mini bar, as we did in the first week, emptied in our second week stay. Unfortunately it was full when we arrived on our second week stay. However, a quick phone call rectified the problem.
The porters Paul, Rocky and Graeme were friendly and always gave me a hand when i needed assistance. My wife has a mobility scooter, the other staff were equally helpful regarding storing and retrieving of the scooter.
Looking forward to staying again in room 1215.

We booked the Tassie Explorer package which was $199 for a Tower Deluxe room with a $100 dining credit included. We then also took advantage of a $20 suite upgrade. The newly renovated suite is double sized and just beautiful. The new bathroom is a real stand out with lots of marble and double sinks with a rain shower and a separate bath. We loved the view of kunanyi and the water. The electric curtains are also fun. They give you Art of Tea teabags, a coffee machine and hot chocolate in the room. The dining credit covered us for a one course dinner and breakfast.

The pool is a bit small and too many kids but I did manage to get a swim. They did the turndown chocolates but we were not given the newspaper in the morning that they advertise.

Our one issue is the noise on level 16 of the revolving restaurant. We could hear it until well after midnight... we would not stay on this level again. So sadly, they lose a star as they need better soundproofing in their suites.

The parking is free and plentiful.

Thanks for having a great deal that us locals can take advantage of and we will be back!

Having recently returned to my old home town it was wonderful once again to stay at Wrest Point.
We have stayed here several times but it just seems to get better.
The first room offered in The Tower was a view across to Tranmere nice but not what we wanted. I enquired as to being moved with a view up towards Battery Point and the bridge. It was granted no trouble and the staff were most obliging and very friendly.
The view was beautiful right up to the bridge.
The rooms are compact and yes I think could do with a refurbish but the bathrooms for its age have been really well kept. It was built in the 70's so very iconic but some new tiles and carpet would really enhance it especially out in the hallways.
We had breakfast every day which was amazing. Really all you could eat and most generous with hot and cold plus tea ..coffee or juices.
We could not fault it sitting right on the water every morning and the room is very generous so not seated on top of each other. With covid taking place and coming from Melbourne this was a bonus.
Our all up opinion is if you want to stay somewhere special with an amazing view..lovely obliging staff and a real plus free parking then stay here.
Thank you so very much for our wonderful stay. We will certainly be back to Tassie

We were allocated a Deluxe Harbour view KIng room situated on floor 16, and with a package on offer at the time of booking we received $50 credit towards food or beverage. We also had the option of partaking breakfast in the Revolving restaurant and if we booked the night before it was at a reduced price of $25 per person.. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the continental breakfast tower plus a Big Breakfast exceeded our expectations. Definitely a must do !!

On arrival to reception we were informed that a $200 deposit was required even though our room was fully paid for ! We were in the old section which is bleak to say the least and a 10 minute hike from the casino . When we got to our room we discovered a car park right outside our room . Poor information from check in staff .
The room was comfortable but extremely tired and bleak . The toilet was stained and did not flush properly . The shower was of the 1960s vintage in a bath with a plunger to change from bath to shower . I am disabled and had to get my Husband to assist me over the 2 days .
The only saving Grace from reception was a noise complaint of other guests talking loudly for 4 hours in the hallways was dealt with swiftly ! Also our room was the last one before the exit so the slamming of the door was constant over the 2 days was unbelievable!
This is our second stay here and as you can tell by the tone of my review we WILL NOT stay here ever again nor will we recommend it to anyone .

Is this a 4.5* hotel? Or a 1.5* motel? We booked the deluxe renovated King Room. No spoons for tea & coffee, NO mini bar, NOT even a bottle of water in the fridge! No pen/note pad that's normally in EVERY motel! The breakfast was VIAL! The order was wrong! It was completely cold. I'm happy for it to arrive warm, but legit cold was disgusting. The bread was watery and soggy. Sausages were cold in the middle so that's definitely telling me the food sat somewhere for a while. The breakfast burger was not edible! It was COVERED in a thick salty sauce that was more a marinade rather a sauce. We did not eat it. All my reviews are usually complimentary of something.. unfortunately this one is not. And I'm not being a "karen" it was just honestly putrid. If you stay here, bring your own teaspoons, bottles of water and a sick bag. We used to really enjoy wrest point...

Wrest Point Tower is a 4.5 star property. The rooms are on the small size but adequate. The renovated rooms are a big improvement especially the bathroom. The rooms do not have a toaster or microwave oven but do have a capsule coffee machine. The daily rate of $199 with a food and beverage credit of $100 was good value. Bistro food and service was exceptional.

I just spent the last 5 days travelling around Tasmania with my sister. It was my gift to her for her 60th birthday. We flew over from Melbourne via Virgin airlines, no complaints there. The flight was less than an hour. Our first stop was Launceston which was lovely, and then Devonport which is quite a beautiful sea side town and then Burnie, which has a beautiful beach. The view of the beach from our motel room was simply gorgeous. The traffic on all roads was practically non existent. No stress at all. We left the best for last, which was Hobart. We went for the Taste of Tasmania festival, which did not disappoint either. The vibe was exciting and the crowd was not too much. We were there on New Years Eve and I would have thought the crowd would have been unbearable but it was easy to walk through and getting served at the food or wine stalls was not the nightmare I was expecting. We stayed two nights at the Wrest Point Casino in a twin Deluxe room with a view. It was comfortable and the view of the harbour and the many boats moored was spectacular. The Casino was great but a little behind the times. The pokie machines only take coins. No notes or plastic cards. It took a bit of getting used to but once I won over a grand I got used to it pretty quickly. lol. They have a revolving restaurant that looks really impressive. We did not eat there as we did not know about it until it was too late to book but they have a breakfast deal for $32.00. I will definitely be booking that next time. It is only $7.00 more than the very casual all you can eat buffet at the Coffee Shop and Buffet there where we ate breakfast and dinner. The food was ok but the place had no atmosphere. It lacked a positive vibe. The revolving restaurant is classy and an experience than one will remember. Of that I am sure.
No shops except for a souvenir shop at Wrest Point but Salamanca Place, which is not far from the Casino has a lot of lovely gallery type gift shops and lots of eateries. It was just a $10.00 taxi drive as well. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will be doing my best to get back there one day and my sister is dying to take her partner there.

The only small issue was the light coming through under the door (which was easily fixed with the bath mat) - lovely room with everything in working order. Very comfortable bed & pillow menu to boot if required. The Point Revolving restaurant came at a price you expect of a quality eatery & certainly did not disappoint, with staff very efficient but not all over you. Hotel staff were also excellent. GREAT stay - thanks

Hi, breakfast somewhere round $23 in boardwalk restaurant, buffet style, good setup and food. We booked with breakfast direct at this hotel as it was slightly better value and we don,t usually have a lunch. Stayed there around 20/5/21 could have changed by now.
