The building of typical Art-Nouveau architecture houses a hotel since it's construction in 1910. Situated in the very center of one of the most picturesque Latvian towns and major tourist destinations - on the Old Town Hall Square. There is some claim for retro style in room design too - old-looking wardrobes and iron cast beds (modern furniture could be...

Situated in the center of Kuldiga. Friendly personnel. We had a two story room which could use some refurbishing. Double bed was small and noisy. The room itself did not have much charm. Old carpeted floor. Loud raindrops in the night on the skylights. We also could hear our neighbors quite well through the wall. Breakfast had good choices, apart...

Our room with skylight windows was very comfortable, and the hotel's location was perfect for exploring the interesting backstreets of Kuldiga. On the downside the shower was a bit feeble and we were disappointed that the restaurant was closed the night we stayed (however we ate at a great pizza place across the road, which was handy since there are...

The hotel is ideally located, though Kuldiga is only a small town anyway. While the room was clean and good, the stay was not particularly good value for money. The staff were pleasant, but the restaurant was not open on the evening we stayed there. However, there are many cafes and restaurants nearby. The breakfast was probably the worst I...

Compare with other hotels I have stayed in Latvia, this one is a bit pricey for what you get. Still, rooms are o.k, nothing special. Staff is friendly and location is great. No operating restaurant at the hotel, just for breakfast it is open.

We have a room morning sun and nothing too make the windows dark. Okay breakfast. You have free parking and you are in city center at the main road. You have a market at the square near the hotel. The reception are 24/7 and have good staff. We have a nice stay.

Kuldiga is a small town where main sights are located very close to one another, so anywhere you stay within the Old Town would make a good base for exploration. That said, the Metropole is situated right where two streets meet - the main pedestrian street of Liepājas iela and Baznīcas iela from which you can reach the Ventas Rumba,...

The hotel and restaurant is centrally located in the city square. This review is only based on our restaurant experience. We had lunch and dinner here, while exploring the attractions of this cosy and laid-back town. On both occasions, we were the only visitors, which surprised us, because it is a nice place and the prices are not any higher...

Had a great night in Kuldiga, lovely town and worthwhile to visit if you have the luxury of time. Metropol was a great and fine hotel to stay in. Excellent reception, breakfast (included in 60 euro for 2 ppl), WiFi worked well, bed was clean and comfortable, amazing shower and dead sea soaps, and much more. No view from room...

A good hotel which was clean and modern. Centrally located and an easy walk to the falls. The rooms were a good size and breakfast was ok. Private parking was included. Had a meal at the restaurant in the evening which was nice, but a little expensive by local standards.
