Middle of August 2021, I spent a day at The FFort .. checked in on a Wednesday and checked out on the following day. From reception , checking in and finally to our rooms we were assisted by masked staff. The Welcome Drink was a packaged drink unlike before. Rooms, towels, bedsheets, wash rooms were clean. Felt very comfortable and safe because room service was available for lunch and dinner. We walked in the lawns in the evening as there was no overcrowding of people (maybe because it was weekday). For buffet breakfast (from 7.30 am to 10.30 am), we were asked to go to the AC restaurant as room service was not available. At 7.45 am we were the only guests but by 9 am, almost all tables were full with guests eating (obviously unmasked !!) and moving around (to collect food). This was the only time when we felt unsafe being in an enclosed AC environment. I would request the management to please look into this issue and give safer alternative to those asking for it.

For people looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Raichak by the Ganges offers a serene getaway option. To the uninitiated, Raichak by Ganges is a huge property which has many options to stay in - Ffort by Radisson, Anaya, Ffort Suites and Ganga Kutir. Prices and amenity options vary accordingly.

We stayed at Ffort Radisson for 2 nights on an all inclusive food option.

Overall experience :
The property of Ffort Radisson, fabled to be one of a garrison of the British is jaded. For the price charged (INR 23k for 2 nights including all in food), you expect much better rooms. Be it the hard bed, or the blinds (or the lack of it), or the shower, all seemed pretty old. Best part of the amazing view of the river from the room. Very soothing indeed.

Food : The property has few restaurants, however currently only Reflections and an Asian restaurant is functional. Not sure of how it happened pre-COVID, food options are centered around the restaurant called Reflections. If you are on an all in deal, you get to choose from a fixed menu for lunch and dinner. The menu is not lavish but decent options. Preparations are good. From whatever we had out of the limited menu, it was quite satiating. There is a ala carte and bar options too.

Shout out to the warm staff managing the floor and serving. Fantastic job.
Note : The all inclusive food option, does not include any food at the bengali restaurant Sonar Tori at Ganga Kutir. For those willing to explore it for the zamindari thali, will have to either walk or cycle to that property amidst the privately owned bunglows. Another peaceful stretch.

Location : Right on the bank of the river, though there is no riverside ghat to sit at for this property. Ganga Kutir has that option I believe. The view of the mighty river flowing by was soothing and calming. It made up for the things missing in the room.

Room tip : Try to get a room on the higher floors, that way you get a better room of the river.

We did not engage in swimming or river cruise. We did go for a short cycling / paddle boat though.

Ffort Raichak is only about 50km away from Kolkata (Esplanade). Very nice place on the banks of river Ganga.
We stayed at Ffort. One can just relax on the balcony of the room. We stayed at level 2 which is in the same level of the reception desk. Though it was called Garden View, river was also visible from the balcony. Nice garden just outside the room. If one book higher floor then better view of river.
Food is awesome, staff are very cordial and always ready to help.
Plenty of roads to have morning walk. Gym and Swimming pools are also there.
The main gate is 5 minutes from Raichak Bus stand and ferry ghat. Everything is available at the market there.
I walked both the morning from Ffort to Ganga Kutir and enjoyed the walk with clean road and nice buildings with garden on both side.
Ganga Kutir has got best view of the river but it is at one corner of the resort. Though lot of security was there but one may feel unsafe there.
Only point I give minus mark to the place that there is no proper car park at Ffort. We had to park on the road side but proper security was there.Ganga Kutir and Aanya got car parking area.
The restaurant 'Sonar Tori' - they tried to have rustic look but it looks to be very shabby and above all they serve only lunch that too only in Thali System. There is no breakfast / dinner and no buffet / A La Cart system.

The only plus about the hotel in that it has a nice lawn and greenery . The hotel is terribly maintained and rooms in shambles . The rooms need a complete spruce up and it’s not worth staying here at all . There are very frequent power cuts with the whole hotel being in the dark . The generator takes too long to start and even after it does the AC does not go on . The wifi in the hotel does not work and if you have a JIO connection then there is just no mobile data connectivity . The housekeeping needs to pay attention while getting the room set up for the next guest as even basics like lights not functioning are not checked .

The buffet was pricey but the offering did not do any justice to price and felt like lunch at some sub standard place. With just 2 non vegetarian offering I can definitely say that the experience was below par.
And while leaving found out that our car and bike was covered all over with bird poo.
Do not park on the lower level and insist on parking on the upper car park.
The only saving grace was the location that it was in and the well maintained property.

Raichak is one of the most popular weekend destination near Kolkata. We went to Ffort Raichak one of the beautiful property beside ganga river. It is a old fort converted in to hotel. They are maintaining the Historical artefacts, furniture's as well as modern amenities. Due to Corvid 19 they are maintaining Sanitization very well. .We had booked 2 rooms . Rooms are very large and very well maintained. Washrooms are also neat and cleaned. Food quality is too good and most important part is the service. All staffs are very friendly and well behaved. Thank you All for making our trip wonderful.

Me and my husband went for a 4 day getaway to the Ffort Raichak ..at the Raichak on the Ganges !!.
We had booked a river view superior room..the view was fantastic. We could view the fort ,river Ganges and the nicely curated garden all at the same time .Staff was very courteous and must say food was the best .We went for a river cruise and they treated us with a special room service for our 4th anniversary. The property is very huge and is best for long weekend getaways away from mundane life .

We booked the FFort Villas which had an attached private pool overlooking the basketball court and the football ground. The access roads are quite good and the Villa was very spacious. It's worth the money that you pay for it. The property comes with parking as well.
Negatives would be availability of just 2 restaurants in the entire property which leaves you with a limited expensive menu where the food isn't really that worthy. More restaurants and a varied menu with better quality food was need of the hour.
The daily breakfast was great and worth it.
The one other thing is that when you pay for an extra bed, in a prime proprty like this, you can't really expect them to give you just a mattress that too of bad quality. Since it's an expensive property, I would have atleast expected a cot since we did pay extra for the person.

The location is great, just beside the Ganges river. However, if you really want to enjoy the river and the ambience, choose Ganga Kutir. Ffort is more like a normal hotel which has turned very old. Rooms lack freshnesh, bathrooms are old fashioned, balconies in the ffort are small. However, the restaurants are good, foods delicious especially one must try Sonar Tori for authentic Bengali cuisine. The pond in front of Ffort is unclean with lot of mosquitos/insects. The river view from Ffort is pretty ordinary in comparison to Ganga Kutir. Maximum 2 nights should be fine as you have very little to do. Hospitaility and service are great, people are very helpful. That has made our stay at least tension-free. Price is on the higher side though the Ganga Kutir is worth the money but Ffort is not.

We were here on April 1st night. Apart from having a good location by river this place has nothing else that can make your trip worth remembering. Especially the staff has no curtsy. There are various games and boating facilities at the premises. However, the staff in-charge are not really here to help, rather expecting customers to not use it so that they have less work to do. They do not have a parking place nearby or valet facility, so get ready to park your car on your own outside and come me back walking long disrances. Even though they mention cycling as an option, the cycles are not maintained and practically impossible to ride. I will surely not reccommend this place.
