Our recent stay met our expectations in most ways. Bahia Tolok is located within walking distance to the more lively part of the island. If you opt to take a taxi, it will cost approx 100 mxn pesos. The staff was helpful to arrange a golf cart rental for us. Otherwise, the staff provided very little contact other than adequate housekeeping. Our room was clean, cool and had comfortable beds. The hot water was minimal and in-room WiFi was very spotty. Not a deal breaker for us. The grounds were very well kept and were seemingly tended to in part by the family (?) that might live on the premises. During one night there was a very loud party on the grounds that lasted until 2:30-3 am. Some construction noise during the day and late afternoon coupled with the party noise was a bit off putting, but it happens. Definitely is situated in a quiet part of the island.

This was a lovely little hotel with exceptionally nice staff and beautifully planned-out space. Having a little kitchen was an incredible bonus, our air conditioning worked very well, and our room was large, clean, and tastefully decorated. They even had their own "made" beach that was deliciously quiet with constant options for either sun or shade. We also loved the free use of the kayaks, and that made for a wonderful afternoon! The pool is a nice temperature and I love the look of the narrow section jutting down through the centre of the hotel's open space. The seat hammocks over the pool make for a nice, shady spot to read while dangling your feet in the water. The location of the hotel is perfect, too. It's about a 15 minute walk into town, which is the perfect distance and makes for a great stroll out for dinner in the evening. It's close enough to be handy, but far enough to be away to feel like our own quiet slice away from it all. We highly recommend staying at Bahia Tolok!

I spent quite some time here and fell in love with the place. Perfectly situated about a 30 minute walk to Norte beach and about the same going south to the main grocery store v you definitely don't need a golf cart to stay here. My room was #7 and the cleaning of it was impeccable. The staff was so friendly and management was always there. No issue with language differences. I had some personal issues trying to get a friend there from the US and our plans changed 3 different times that would require a larger room. The staff worked with me every time there was a change. They went way beyond anything I expected. I will return here again very soon and would highly recommend Bahia Toluk to any traveler going to Isla Mujeres.

This was one of the worse experiences. I was undecided between Bahia Tolok and Izla Hotel I decided on Tolok due to it's reviews and thought a smaller more quaint location would be ideal for my family and I.
As soon as we arrived, no one was in reception. We waited about 5-10 min, then a lady shows up and takes our reservation then shows us to our room. Our room faced the busy street. As soon as we walked in the room had a foul smell, no ventilation, and a faulty door lock. We made the decision to cancel there and there and would not give us our money back. I would definitely not recommend this place. I doesn't even face the ocean but a lagoon.

I came to Isla Mujeras to relax, but that is the last thing that will happen here. There is loud construction right below my room and the manager is not here so that I can cancel the rest of my stay. Of course this booking is none-refundable (at $130 a night) according to the front desk associate. The WiFi does not work and there is very little hot water for a shower. What a terrible experience. The view is fantastic, but I would highly recommend that you think twice before staying here.

It’s not a resort. It’s a boutique hotel that has 15 rooms. It doesn’t face the ocean, it faces the lagoon. The pool is small but it’s nice and perfectly fine to relax in. They have a bar and the service is perfectly acceptable, no complaints. They have a ‘beach’ area with loungers but the water isn’t great. Rooms are perfectly fine. Clean but basic. You have everything you need. Wifi in the room wasn’t the best, but outdoors in the pool area it worked fine. Elena at the front desk was super nice and willing to help with anything you need. They have plenty of parking for golf carts should you decide to rent one.

The only thing that was a bit odd is there seems to be a family that lives in one of the units and uses the staff to cater to their every need. Didn’t quite figure out what was going on there...

Overall, it’s a perfectly fine place to stay if you don’t need to be on the beach.

We were on the island for 17 days and spent the first 4 nights here. This was a great place to begin as the staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable and had an outdoor kitchen and large patio with a hammock. There is also a room directly on the pool which I'd like to try as well! The included continental breakfast was surprisingly satisfyingly and all you need to start your day. You can walk to Playa Norte in less than 30 minutes, which we would have done often had it not been for the humidity, but the front desk will call a cab for you and it's only around $5 to get anywhere. I highly recommend this hotel and hope to return soon. My only regret is not enjoying the pool or the small beach while were were there.

We had an amazing 12 day stay in January to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had a great room with a comfortable bed, King size, full kitchen with everything you need to prepare food & a generous bathroom with a walk in shower. They do a continental breakfast that they will set up wherever you want it, it's basic but it's nice to start the day. The have a very nice pool & a small beach. It's not Playa Norte but it's still right on the water.

The staff are so kind & helpful. They really make the stay extra enjoyable, so much so, we're coming back for another 12 day stay in November. We can't wait!!

It's about a twenty minute walk to Centro but we love to walk, it was perfect for us. There are some very good restaurants close by as well. Sunset Grill is excellent & the Green Verde was good too. I believe Bahia Tolok is planning on expanding to include a restaurant on property as well. We love it here & can't wait to come back. It may be small in stature but big on heart. Thanks for a wonderful time, see you in November

So we stayed at 5 different hotels and resorts over 2 weeks and this was definitely overall the best. I hate writing this a bit because I don't want other people to go here! Sorry, but it was just so quiet and serene I want to keep it for myself. We are counting the days until we can return.

Beautiful rooms, super clean, most comfortable bed and pillows of our entire trip!!!! That's very important to us.

As far as the honesty of the staff-- we paid 1/2 via papal, they had record of our transaction we paid the balance once we got there. The transaction was smooth and effortless.

My husband left his entire wallet at the hotel and did not notice until we were checked out and on the ferry to the mainland. He called the hotel and the staff quickly found his wallet and held it for him as it took a few hours for him to get back. There were hundreds of dollars cash in that wallet and all were there when he reclaimed it.

In an effort of truth and fairness in my reviews, I would skip the breakfast, there are way, way too many really great places on the island to eat rather than settling for some fruit and cereal.

I would also HIGHLY recommend eating dinner nearly next door at Sunset Grill. That was probably the best meal of our trip. Truly first class.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at this hotel. We booked the suite with walk out pool access and private hot tub. Nobody notified us of the hot tub being inoperable at check in. When we later brought it up, the woman at the front desk told my husband that the hot tub leaked and that price of our room did not include use of the hot tub, which makes no sense because that specific room does in fact advertise it. The manager decided that instead of offering compensation they would just fill the hot tub up for us anyway even though it leaks all over the patio. We enjoyed many things about this hotel but feel the customer service was lacking when dealing with this issue and we would not recommend anyone book that suite, since it isn’t as advertised.

Good morning, the cost of the reservation is charged and an open voucher of only 1,000 pesos is left for a damage or consumption deposit that is for your entire stay.
